For sale is a beautiful 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder with just over 132k miles and only 60k miles on the 6 speed transmission out of a Celica GTS from Monkey Wrench Racing. I have all the receipts with work done on the vehicle.I am the 2nd owner. Clean title and history. Vehicle has never been in a accident.The body kit is a Genuine TRD and is very rare. Paint is in great condition.In the last two years I've replaced the transmission and clutch. All new struts and bushings throughout the vehicle.All new A/C components, Starter, Axles, Gaskets and Stoptech brake pads and rotors.Recently installed a new Topspeed/CHE header/Downpipe and new O2 sensors.I replaced the top also, which is still in good condition, just a small one inch tear that I repaired (see photo).The driver seat has good amount of wear & tear, light wear to steering wheel but overall the interior is in good condition as well. Currently the check engine light is on (code p0420) which usually is the o2 sensor, but I dont have the time right now to fix it.Rear tires need to be replaced soon.I replace the plastic undertrays with Zerosport's Aluminum undertray another very rare item.This a super fun convertible and that gets over 30 mpg.

I have owned it for 6 years with one prior owner, It had about 27,000 miles when I bought it. I paid about $10,000 for it and spent about $15,000 on maintaining and upgrading it. I am very clean and particular about my vehicles. Some upgrades include; Full engine swap with all the modifications and parts including exhaust and air intake (about $7000), new soft top, new windshield, new headlights and fog lights, tinted windows, light weight aluminum racing wheels ($1000), new clutch, after market alarm, speakers, head unit, amp, and sub (about $1500). I have all the paperwork on all the regular maintenance such as oil changes, tires, and breaks....all done by Toyota dealership and another certified Toyota mechanic. NOTE: this is an older photo but car looks the same just with smoked out side markers. Will take more photos when it stops raining! Car also comes with a few extras such as the stock rims. Excellent running & driving MR2-SPYDER. Only has 90,000 miles. No alterations other than wheels & tires. Ready to drive just as it sits. Ice cold a/c, power windows & power locks. Has Konig aftermarket wheels that look very nice on it. As far as imperfections, there are only a couple that i can think of. The Toyota symbol is missing from the front of the car (hood ornament) and the spyder logo is missing a couple of its letters on the trunk lid as well. Both logos have been obtained from toyota and will be included with sale. Car was very well maintained by Dealer. Has been in storage for a year, but I've been driving it daily for a couple weeks now to make sure everything is in good working order.

The top folds flat into a well, and a wind deflector mounts behind the seats. Alloy wheels hold 15-inch tires in front, but new 16-inch tires are used at the rear. Seating is cozy for two occupants on bucket seats. Standard features include drilled aluminum pedals, a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel, a cassette/CD stereo, air conditioning, and power windows, door locks and mirrors. A large, center tachometer dominates the three-pod gauge cluster. Tall folks can stretch out, but cargo space is virtually nonexistent - it is officially listed at a minuscule 1.9 cubic feet. Installed is a leather-trimmed seat package. The MR2's 138-horsepower, 1.8-liter, dual-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine is adapted from the one used in the Celica; it teams with a five-speed-manual transmission. Toyota claims the MR2 Spyder can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than 7 seconds. All-disc antilock brakes and daytime running lights are standard. "Frunk" (Front Trunk) - Most spaced used up by spare wheel; however you can flip it upside down to also use it as a pretty big storage area. As I said, the car has been our road trip vehicle amongst a few dozen states and Canada so it's seen some highway miles and hence the source of some of these imperfections. After a five-year hiatus, the new MR2 Spyder marked the return of the mid-engine sports car to Toyota's line-up. VVTI DOHC ENGINE The Toyota vehicle has been fitted with a 1.8-litre double overhead cam (DOHC) 16-valve four-cylinder engine with a VVT-I (Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence) system. This produces 138bhp at 6,400rpm. It also sustains a torque of 125ft-lbs at 4,400rpm. The VVT-I system is used to improve fuel economy and engine performance as well as reduce exhaust emissions. This system controls the intake camshaft valve timing so as to obtain a balance between engine output, fuel consumption and emission control performance. By varying the cam timing, and thus the valve overlap, the engine can run more cleanly at low revs, boost its torque in the middle and still manage powerful high-rev performance. The engine is positioned near the centre of the chassis. This has the effect of of lowering the centre of gravity, thus improving the handling of the vehicle when cornering at high speed. The vehicle uses a mid-engine drivetrain with rear-wheel drive and five-speed manual transmission. POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO The new development focused on designing a pure sports car. This first meant that the car had to be light and so a curb weight of 2,195lbs was achieved. From this point, the company was able to focus on power to weight ratio, which would determine the speed and performance of the vehicle. The lighter the car, the better the power to weight ratio will be for a given engine. As car engines are an expensive part of the overall package, lightness has significant benefits. MR2 SUSPENSION Handling is further improved with the car's specifically designed suspension system. This includes a front independent MacPherson strut and rear independent dual-link MacPherson strut, with damper struts, lower control arms, coil springs and anti-roll bars. Steering is aided using a rack-and-pinion with electro-hydraulic power-assist, which enables a turning circle of 17.4 feet. ABS BRAKES The vehicle is light but also capable of reaching high speeds. The emphasis was therefore on developing an effective braking system, and the vehicle was fitted with power-assisted ventilated disc brakes with anti-lock brake system (ABS). For maximum grip, the vehicle was fitted with P185/55R15 at the front and P205/50R15 at the back. Brake testing showed that the vehicle could achieve 70–0 mph in 3.26s and a distance of 166.7ft. Fuel consumption in urban areas averages 25mpg, while on the motorway the average consumption rises over 30mpg. SAFETY FEATURES Customers have demanded a higher standard of safety from all vehicle manufacturers in recent years. The Toyota Spyder is no exception to this. Standard features on the Spyder include: front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones; side-impact door beams; 5mph front and rear bumpers; daytime running lights (DRL); hood hold-down hooks; standard anti-lock brake system (ABS) and a driver and front passenger air bag. Also included is a supplementary restraint system (SRS) with passenger-side cut-off switch, three-point seatbelts with emergency locking retractor (ELR) on driver's belt, automatic/emergency locking retractors (ALR/ELR) on passenger's belt and seatbelt pretensioners with force limiters. What a nice car ! It's a 3rd car in the family and only driven summers. Almost $2000. worth of major service and updates in recent history! Complete transaxle overhaul. Including clutch assembly, bearings and more. Also a complete brake overhaul and more service about 5000 miles ago. Calipers, rotors, pads etc. Tires are fair. It's very clean inside. No rips or problems. [non smoker] and she runs like a top. Clean Carfax and no accidents. Driven summers only. Everything works. Excellent body and paint. Always gets compliments. A few very minor typical pebble chips and tiny imperfections. You'll be happy and proud to drive this car ! The top is in good condition. It has 2 tiny spots repaired.
