1979 MG Midget with 62,073 original miles. Car was off the road in indoor dry storage for the last 14 years. Has 1500 engine with Weber carb conversion. Car starts & runs fine but will need to be gone thru since being off the road for so long. Directionals and brake lights don't seem to be working. Floors are solid with some rust at bottom of doors and bottom corner of the fender as shown in photos. Interior is in good condition with one crack in the drivers seat bottom. New battery. For sale is a 1976 MG Midget. Car has 67,000 miles - runs and drives well. No smoke from engine. Starts easy - idles well. Car has the original color yellow paint, but it is not in perfect shape. Paint shines, but has various chips and other imperfections- especially around the edges of the doors. Trunk lid is slightly bent but closes and latches well. Tires match and have good tread left on them. Has brand new spare tire, new chrome trim rings, new dash cap, new shift knob, new fender mirrors and new window crank handles. Car starts first time every time. New brake master cylinder installed. Rubber bumpers are in excellent condition, with no visible marks, cuts or other condition issues. Convertible top closes well, but has small 2 inch tear in rear window on driver's side. A few dents and dings but nothing major. Car is solid and with a little TLC would be a great looker. Driver's seat has rip down the center of the vinyl, so I have put covers over the seats -will need repair. All lights work, including instrument lights. Fuel gauge not operational. Needs brake pads and shoes installed. Cannot be driven away from this location. Beautiful 1976 MG Midget With 25468 Original Miles. car is very solid. It Runs and i believe everything works on it besides a headlight is blown. Very little rust on front driver side front fender. trunk and floors are solid with original spare and jack. The car has original convertible top but the top needs replaced. it needs a driver side mirror, have original but son broke it,also car has new tires less than 100 miles on them,seems to need brakes soon or readjusted one. The car was in a museum for almost 20 years after original owner from chicago sold it. where it was in parades and sat inside of museum. The car has a few minor dents and scratches yet still all original and one of the finest originals i have seen.

I purchased this vehicle in September of 2013 from my neighbor. It was a birthday present for my wife who has recently passed away. I need to sell this vehicle as my inventory of vehicles is already excessive. Here is what I know about it: The previous owner was an adult [mid 50’s] female who owned the vehicle for about 20 years. It has always been garage kept. It has 112,000 miles on it. Paint is in excellent condition. Car was repainted at some point in the past, but not sure when. The tires have plenty of tread left on them, but they are old. The convertible top appears to be original and needs to be replaced. Previous owner never used it because it was never driven in the rain. There is a small gravel chip in the windshield which I treated with a repair kit. It is not in an area that would cause it to fail inspection. My mechanic [British car specialist, Motorcar Garage LLC, motorcar-garage.com] partially disassembled the engine and treated it with various solvents and upper cylinder lubricants to clean up the valves and valve stems. The rocker arms were checked for straightness and they are ok. There is some surface rust at the bottom of the rear panel, just above the jack location. The floorboards, floor, trunk, wheel wells are all solid. The gas gauge is not working. It may be a loose wire, bad gauge, float problem… I’m not sure. The turn signals do not self-cancel. We have lived in this neighborhood for 13 years. Previous owner was here before we moved in. I have rarely ever seen the car outside the garage. The car runs great and the suspension is tight. Brakes are great. No oil leaks. This is what I have done to the car since my purchase in September of last year: · Carburetor has been completely rebuilt. · New battery · New electronic ignition · Gearbox oil replaced · New choke cable · New accelerator cable · New valve cover gasket · New thermostat I purchased the car for $3750 and put another $1100 into it via my mechanic. I am willing to take a loss and sell it at a lower price.

MG Midget 1974. 1275cc and 4 speed transmission.Cat starts and runs great, smooth running, great oil pressure. No weird sounds or noises. Transmission shifts fine in all gears. Brakes seem fine and stops car well. Tires have decent tread.Interior is in excellent shape for 40 years old- no major rips or tears.Body work is fair to good. There are signs of rust in A post and sills. Floors and all major parts are rust free and in excellent condition. Paint has been touched up in a few spots and is starting to fade- again 40 year old paint.... Trunk floor is good and has spare tire and factory jacket/ tool kit.Soft top is torn at stitching.Electrically it's not bad. Turn signals are not working presently- fuse lasts about 1000 miles then blows. Is missing a switch or two. But a complete whole dash comes as a spare. Windshield also has bulls-eye, but a good used glass and frame comes with car.Rear shocks have dampness on them and will need repair - have a set of cores to send away .Many more parts comes with car including early bumpers.Car comes with a lot of paper work from perverse owner showing $6k in maintenance from about 1999 to about 2010.This car is not perfect, but is a great opportunity to buy a classic which is very usable and can be driven while carry out work.Inspections are welcomed.
