I purchased this vehicle in September of 2013 from my neighbor. It was a birthday present for my wife who has recently passed away. I need to sell this vehicle as my inventory of vehicles is already excessive. Here is what I know about it: The previous owner was an adult [mid 50’s] female who owned the vehicle for about 20 years. It has always been garage kept. It has 112,000 miles on it. Paint is in excellent condition. Car was repainted at some point in the past, but not sure when. The tires have plenty of tread left on them, but they are old. The convertible top appears to be original and needs to be replaced. Previous owner never used it because it was never driven in the rain. There is a small gravel chip in the windshield which I treated with a repair kit. It is not in an area that would cause it to fail inspection. My mechanic [British car specialist, Motorcar Garage LLC, motorcar-garage.com] partially disassembled the engine and treated it with various solvents and upper cylinder lubricants to clean up the valves and valve stems. The rocker arms were checked for straightness and they are ok. There is some surface rust at the bottom of the rear panel, just above the jack location. The floorboards, floor, trunk, wheel wells are all solid. The gas gauge is not working. It may be a loose wire, bad gauge, float problem… I’m not sure. The turn signals do not self-cancel. We have lived in this neighborhood for 13 years. Previous owner was here before we moved in. I have rarely ever seen the car outside the garage. The car runs great and the suspension is tight. Brakes are great. No oil leaks. This is what I have done to the car since my purchase in September of last year: · Carburetor has been completely rebuilt. · New battery · New electronic ignition · Gearbox oil replaced · New choke cable · New accelerator cable · New valve cover gasket · New thermostat I purchased the car for $3750 and put another $1100 into it via my mechanic. I am willing to take a loss and sell it at a lower price.

*NOTE: Detailed pictures on my "hobby" website "TaylorMadeClassicCars" on the world wide web. 1978 MG Midget. New top, has tonneau cover and top irons cover, newer custom interior seat covers, nice CD stereo system, all gauges work, lights work, horn, signals, etc. Accessory driving lights are new, but not wired up yet, so they are for show only at this point.Very presentable fun car, turn key, driver. Has amateur paint job, but still very presentable and clean. Unmodified original engine bay with all the original plumbing. Runs and drives very nice. Currently titled and registered under my name and is being driven frequently. Reasonably priced for quick sale. Plenty of late Fall season "top-down" driving weather left. Would make an excellent gift for Mom or Dad or your teen driver. Needs nothing. Excellent investment. Where else can you buy a classic convertible sports car for this money?? *NOTE: Detailed pictures on my "hobby" website "TaylorMadeClassicCars" on the world wide web.
