1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL. Very rare white with black leather interior. I am a Mercedes enthusiast and have spent countless hours refreshing this wonderful flagship sedan. This is the latest version of the SEL which had upgraded seats and interior. Only available from 89-91. Front & rear heated and reclining seats. Here are the particulars: - 73,000 original miles - Recent Goodyear Integrity tires - Complete A/C upgrade including new compressor, drier, expansion valve and hoses,belts - Refreshed interior including refinished center console wood, B-pillars recovered and re-dyed front and rear seats. - 3 factory Mercedes keys - This car was recently inspected and serviced by a Mercedes specialty shop to bring all services up-to-date. This included: - All fluids and filters replaced - transmission, power steering, air, oil, brakes etc. - Spark plugs replaced with correct Bosch plugs. - Drivers door window regulator and motor replaced - Rear springs and shocks replaced. - Brakes have plenty of life and car was safety checked. - Factory Becker radio is included but currently not hooked up as previous owner had an aftermarket radio installed. Here is a really rare optioned car. The vin# is correct but ebay wont take Euro Vin so I had to put 1980 but it is a 1983 model. It started out as a 1983 European (higher horsepower) 500sel Mercedes Benz w126. I am not sure if the AMG modifications were done in AMG Germany or AMG importer O’Gara in California. The car was done in 10/1983 and delivered to Schweinfurt Germany. It has a import tag from O’Gara Coach Company who were the major AMG early modifier. The car was supposedly owned by a celebrity who eventually kept it at his house in Arizona. The car was ordered with a TON of extra features in 1983. I think someone checked ALL the boxes. I bought it from a guy had the car for 10+ years in a stored environment. I bought it because it was RUST FREE. Being from Chicago unfortunately most of the older Mercedes have rust (many times lots of it hidden) this car is clean which is why I trekked it (yes folks I drove it almost 1300 miles ) home. I meant to restore it but I just do not have the time. I am working on a Mercedes coupe project that is taking up all my time, and money. Th car came with some cutting edge options for 1983: electric and heated both front seats, rear back rests and headrests, electric sliding roof, cruise control, Anti lock brakes, electronic outside mirror right side, automatic antenea, lighted vanity mirrors both sides, air conditioning, heated rear window, burl walnut root wood, and rear mount loud speakers. The car has real AMG sideskirts, Front spoiler ( the early AMG non dogear style), it has a Lorinser glassed in rear spoiler which I had redone and have never seen another with the spoiler done like that. It has Centra body colored wheels. But the crowning piece is the power rear recaro manual seats. THEY ARE UBER RARE. They slide back and forth via the switch on the door, They are leather look and have a middle armrest. See the pictures, this was a very custom job many unique trim pieces went into it but looks factory. The car needs work! I drove it besides the 1300 miles when I got it , maybe a couple hundred miles since then. It has lowering springs maybe H&R or non marked AMG? To fit the rear seats the wheel wells have been modified. The car has Centras rims , but one is missing a center cap, I got the correct star for it but no center cap. The car has 247K on the odometer which I was told is correct. The previous owner said the engine was rebuilt but I have no records on the car save for a german owners manual. The engine pulls well so I would believe it. The trans will need attention for although once going it is fine it lags when 1st put into reverse or drive, which is a sign that it is nearing a rebuild. The car is as tight as my other w126 sedan with 100K so I assume the suspention has been rebuilt at some point. I don’t see any major body damage , it looks as though the front drivers corner had a ding (all factory weld spots still on inner fender) and but has a crease in back by license plate like was backed into something protruding. Although in the pictures the paint looks good IT IS NOT it will need a repaint. At some points the paint is peeling, and has cracks in it. I had someone tell me can be wet sanded off but I do not believe that. I am a member of all the AMG and Mercedes boards, I am not trying to hoodwink anyone. I had intentions of stripping the whole car down for a rebuild. To me the appeal of the car is that it is rust free and that there cannot be more than a dozen of these with these options worldwide (look on google I have found only 2 showcar 500SEL’s with the recaro rear seats) Questions please call , live close stop by take a test drive! The 560SEL (W126) was the last of the big body Mercedes and the last two years of production were the best in terms of fit and finish of this model. This car is straight with no rust or accident damage. Interior is very clean and all power accessories work. This car has the optional rear foot rests, known as “diplomat pads” since many of these cars were used for heads of state, diplomats and other VIP’s. It also has the optional burled walnut wood treatment rather than the more common zebrano. Original radio. Included are the original owners manual and MBZ shop manuals. This car was owned by a family member until it was passed to me several years ago. This car is in a climate controlled garage and has had only three owners since new, including myself. This car has not sat in a parking lot, in the street or in the backyard under a tree. I have a full file folder of receipts for the work completed on the car. The A/C needs to be recharged. What has been done: This is just a sample of the major repairs. ?Complete front end rebuilt with new upper and lower ball joints and bushings. Up for grabs is a 3rd owner, 1991 560SEL. This car has been in our family since 2006 where my dad purchased this car from a used car dealer specializing in Mercedes & BMW automobiles. My dad handed this car down to me 2 years ago when he purchased a newer Mercedes. The car is overall in good condition but not perfect as you can see in the pictures. The bumpers have scuffs and the Driver rear door is a different color as I had it replaced with a donor part when my neighbor backed into it. The sunroof also does not operate because the cable snapped but the motor is operational. Also, during my diagnosis of the sunroof cable I was not able to properly reinstall a small headliner trim panel because the clips had broken off it. Where this car shines is the mechanical aspect since THOUSANDS have been spent in repairs to keep the car in excellent running condition. The engine operates great! It does not smoke or overheat. The transmission shifts excellent! Air conditioner & Heat work great! All power windows work. All heated seats operational. All power seats and front power head rests are operational. Cruise control also operational.
