Introduced in 1982 in the US as the 380SEC, these crisply designed V8 "pillarless" coupes became the car of choice for the affluent individual who appreciated exceptional build quality, timeless styling and - with the 5.0 liter and 5.6 liter variants - a taste of some horsepower. The end-of-series 5.6 liter model added a good measure of extra muscle under the hood, providing US customers the power which Europe enjoyed with the 500SEC. The 560SEC arrived in the US as a 1986 model. The specification included heated front seats, town and country horns, power sunroof, ABS brakes, airbags for both driver and passenger, new 15" flat face alloys and self-leveling rear suspension.The 560SEC stood at the top of the entire Mercedes-Benz model range and sold for about $76,000 in 1988. Only 1,533 were built in 1988 and unfortunately most of those have been neglected over the years. I'm happy to offer this exceptional example that has perfect pedigree and has been fully prepared by a dedicated group of technicians.
