Florida car in good condition for its age. Garage kept. No smoking, no kids. I am second owner, for 14 years. This is the mid-sized, 5-passenger E-class sedan. 3.2 Liter V6 fuel-injected engine with just 149,500 miles. Lots more miles left on this well maintained Mercedes engine. 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. It runs smoothly, drives great. EPA 21 city/29 highway gas mileage. Black leather interior with burl walnut trim in amazing condition, because it has been garaged. Automatic dual climate control. Driver and passenger 10-way electric seats. Adjustable steering tilt/telescope. 8-speaker audio system AM/FM. Power front windows. Cruise control. Body has no rust. Black paint in fairly good condition. It has never seen snow or salted roads. Does need left front fender work and small part of driver door fixed. I scraped a column in a garage. Mercedes built in Germany in March of 1998. Car is not running correctly. Will start right up and idle well for about 5 minutes. Then will run rough and stall.Will not restart untill cool. Small dent front drivers side fender. Usuall scrapes and dings. The paint is well worn. Minimum rust(rear wheelwell).Interior worn but repairable. Tires fair, one rim dented but serviceable.Most parts work correctly with the exception of the A/C. All glass is good. Electric windows work.Being sold for parts or repair.Body parts for these two door coupes are hard to find. Other parts just not available. Car being sold for cash only. I am aggressively selling our 1981 Mercedes Benz 380SLC. We are moving in one week and cannot take the car with us. The body is in excellent shape, with the interior (all leather and wood trim) in excellent condition also. V8 ALUMINUM ENGINE. The leather has been covered with a lambskin protectant since purchase 25 years ago. Smokefree environment. ONLY 65,000 MILES! It hasn't been driven in almost 10 years. I know it needs a new ac (quoted $300 to replace), new battery, and may need some transmission & other mechanical work to get back on the road. It has been garaged it's entire life, outside of the about 5 years in which it was covered and under a carport. The specialized rims alone are worth 2K, but we are looking for an owner that wants to enjoy this car, not piece it out for parts. It's a restorer's dream! When running, it is silent, smooth and sleek. Has been in our family for 25+ years, we are 2nd owner. This is one of only 1500 models produced and only in 1981, which was the final year of Mercedes SLC Production. It is much more rare than it's SL cousin, & it comfortably seats 4-5 people, although has a sports car appearance. Bought this 1980 Mercedes 300D about 2 years ago off of eBay as 1st car for 16 year old. He drove it for 2 years putting approximately 9K miles on it. Recent new items include new battery, front brake pads, radiator, water pump, thermostat, window motor, and 3/2 Valve along with regular oil changes, replacing the fuel filters with each oil change. The car is in original condition with far less than normal wear for a 35 year old vehicle. There are some small dings and chips in the paint but nothing that distracts from the beauty of this classic. The paint shines nicely and always receives positive comments and thumbs-up from those who see it. Inside the original AM/FM Becker Europa Radio and sunroof work. Car has not been modified from original condition. The original dash is just beginning to develop cracks and the passenger seat has a small (2 in. square) area that is cracking from age. Upholstery and carpet are in excellent original condition I commute with this car 150 miles round trip periodically with no issues. Car averages 26 MPG on the highway. No problems at all cruising at 75 mph. A car of this age is not without problems but nothing that distracts from the drivability or beauty of this classic. Looking for a new home only because my son joined the military. Positives: Original excellent condition. Original Paint and Interior in excellent condition Runs, drives, shifts and stops as it should. Original working radio and power sunroof. No cracks or chips in glass. All lights work. Belts and hoses in great shape as are the Michelin tires. I would estimate tires have 80% tread remaining. Original Calif. Blue plates indicating the car never left the state. Clear Calif. title in my name. Car is cheap to insure and does not require the dreaded California SMOG inspection. Negatives: Power windows work on drivers side only. Replaced the motor on the front passenger side window but requires adjustment to work properly. The rear passenger side window goes down but not up (we leave it up). Cruise Control does not work. Never tried to troubleshoot. Heat blows on low speed only and AC system needs new compressor. ** Will make myself available for your shipping company to pick-up and load vehicle.
