96 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE For sale is my prized R107 1985 Mercedes 380SL- 040 Black on Palomino leather with 45,000 original miles. I bought the car from the owner’s daughter with 37,000 as he passed away. The car came with the European front end which is very rare to find. Car was purchased here locally in Fort Worth, TX- The original delivery inspection is included from the dealer. The car does have 1 key (sure a 2nd one isn’t hard to get) and all the original books and manuals. Includes Top adjustment tool, antenna lube, extra fuses. The car for the age looks fantastic- the car does need an exterior detail which will get done for sure. Everything I mention- I will take some pictures of to share the extent of it: The paint is all original 110%- but there are some slight chips in driver’s door along edge, as well as right above the wheel on passenger side front, and on the edge of the hardtop where it sits on the car as you will notice in pictures- nothing major, but it is there. The soft top was used about 10 times total and was stored away most of the cars life- I have cleaned it well. The hard top is in fantastic shape- the rear glass has had some heat build-up along the edges and has some red tint to it- the hard part is reach it as it is a closed off space. The light surface scratches I see on the paint can be buffed out. The car will need new some weather-stripping on the door edges as some of it is worn and aged- it is usable though as some had been replaced. The pinstripe has a few spots where it is peeling. The bumper ends have been refinished but are the original that came on the car. All lights function- the third tail light does have a crack along the side of the plastic- very subtle with the black. Antenna works great- I installed the shorter antenna rather than the original tall one- the radio works fantastic. The spare is in new shape and all original tools are back there in the package. Car had new padding installed under the hood. All interior and exterior lights work. The housings for blinkers and fog lights have been replaced. The leather is in fantastic shape has some dry rot on the outside of the driver’s seats and on the armrest in the center as pictured. The carpet does have places where it is fading (please see pics)- but that’s just part of having a car in the Texas heat as there were times my garage was full, but for the most part, the car was inside. The original mats are in the car- there are a few minor stains in the carpet as the pictures show. The door sills on both sides have a light crack. The wood trim is in good shape- at the very bottom by the carpet the trim staple came loose, but it is not noticeable unless you pull it up. Car has new (within 6 months) Brakes and rotors, Brake fluid, windshield washer pump and reservoir cap, air filters, oil and filter as recommended from manual, transmission gasket kit and transmission fluid. All hoses and belts are in fantastic shape as well. The car had a fresh charge of R12 over the summer and blows ice cold- for the first time- I did notice a minor leak in the garage from the compressor- car does still blow cold. I do still have 1 can of R12 I will include. I did not get the compressor changed/rebuilt as I will leave it up to the new owner to swap to new system or not. The air still blows strong. The windshield wipers are new- I did put Bosch ones on- I kept the original as well for new owner. All power accessories work. New front license plate frame included. Tires are at about 80% tread, and wheels were refinished about a year ago so they look brand new. Suspension is in fantastic condition and rides like a dream for age. Battery is about 3 years old- I keep it charged at times I am not driving it. I am not going to lie- I do not drive it enough and part of the reason I am selling it is the wife says it is time for it to be gone since we have kid number 2 on the way. This car is timeless, beautiful and means so much to me- for its age, it shines even with its slight imperfections. I kept this car under my father’s dealers name- I have owned it for about 7 years now. I can sign the title over to buyer once paid for. A car cover is included as well as the top holder which will need to be shipped as it does not fit in the car and is pictured.
