For sale is my 1999 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas Supercharged V8. This is a very rare car, it has the luxury of a longwheel-base Vanden Plas and the power of an XJR. The price new at the dealer was close to $100K, that was the reason not too many people opted to order this top of the line-version and ordered an already luxurious base XJ8 or VDP instead. I bought this car in South Florida with the intention of keeping it in my garage as a weekend car and waiting as it eventually becomes an collectible classic one day. However, since a few things changed around me, this car is available for the next owner. Like already mentioned earlier, this is the ultimate edition of the XJ8 -305 Series. I'm not going to list all the options this particular Jaguar has, because it has EVERYTHING, what was available from the factory at this time. The car is in great, all original condition and was always kept in a garage. No rust, still has factory paint and never involved in any accidents (still has all the factory ID stickers in place) . The interior is super clean, leather is still soft and nice, the wood trim and dashboard are excellent. Everything works as it should, has ice-cold A/C. The tires, battery, fuel pump, filters, brakes and fluids have been changed recently. First owner kept the car in a climate-controlled garage of his vacation home in South Florida, thus the low mileage. There are No fluid/oil leaks of any kind. Although the car still looks stunning, it does have a few blemishes. Due to the fact that the car spend its whole life in Florida, the clear coat starts showing first light signs of aging in a few spots, mainly on the top, lids and fuel door. It only shows in direct sun light in the form of slight hazing at close up inspection, you have to look very hard and most people do not even notice it. I am very particular and therefore I feel I should address it. Besides of that, the car still has a nice glossy paint, looks excellent and turns heads everywhere I go.I provided plenty of pictures and invite anyone who want to come and see the car in person. Everything works beautifully. Clear Title on hand. Brakes, steering and suspension in tip top condition, new steering rack and wheel alignment, rear differential serviced. All mechanical, electrical and climate control systems are A+, full tune up including spark plug wires, distributor and rotor, new a/c drier and expansion valve, new a/c amplifier (these are difficult to source and are $295 but make the a/c work as new), new alternator/voltage regulator, new exhaust manifold gaskets, new motor and transmission mounts, refurbished fuel injectors, MAF cleaned, lube job, oil, gas, and air filters. New battery and new fluids throughout (including Mercedes Benz radiator fluid). Ice cold air conditioning. Car never overheats, even in Las Vegas summers and is very dependable, starts every time. Lovely road manners with a very solid and tight drivetrain, very smooth car, you can set the cruise control at 80 and cruise all day long. Both gas tanks and gauges work properly. Cosmetically the car is stunning ! Lustrous ORIGINAL Maraschino Black paint finish (with minimal imperfections only noticeable up close), if you intend to show the car the paint should be refreshed, paint lacquer checking typical of Jaguar original paint, majority is on hood and roof, 2 oil drips on drivers front fender, please refer to pictures. And YES, this car would win at shows with a new paint job, it’s that good. No accidents, straight body. Near Perfect chrome and trim, even the exhaust tips which are usually tarnished and brown are bright, door rubber is supple and not dried out. All lights are clear and shiny, which only occurs on cars that have been garaged all their lives. Glass all clear, one tiny flea bite on passenger side front windshield which is not noticeable. Always a Western U.S. car, 100% rust free body, chassis and frame. The cream/ivory interior is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful original leather seats (near flawless), clean carpeting and perfect dash. Sheepskin floor mats and trunk can be washed and underneath are original floor mats in perfect condition. Wood all refinished by Madera Concepts of California and is very stunning. Even the center plastic tabs on the center vents are intact, these are always broken. No leaks when taking car through carwash. The headliner is still usable but should be redone, it had sagged in the rear and been pulled tight and pinned at the rear, no sag noticeable now, quoted $350 to have it completely redone here in Las Vegas, it’s not noticeable, I did not have it redone but reflected the cost of replacement in the asking price. Original owners manuals, books, window sticker, and full set of shop manuals. Beautiful wire wheels with good tires all around, front calipers and rear hub done in Ferrari yellow, which complements the interior and gives the wire wheels an eye catching glow. If you are looking for an exceptional Series III in it’s second to last year of production, with low miles, a stunning color combination, and in very good mechanical condition this is the one. Car is also listed locally and we have a neighbor interested in it so we reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time. This 24 year old 1992 Jaguar XJ40 Vanden-Plas can only be described as immaculate inside and out, unfortunately XJ40's in this condition are becoming harder to find with many falling into the wrong hands and at the first sign of trouble were cast aside and put out to pasture. This was fine for Jaguar enthusiasts like me as it means parts are not that difficult to find and are inexpensive, the six cylinder 4LTR DOHC engine, properly maintained, is virtually unburstable and will go on forever the same can be said of the 4 speed automatic transmission which has a sport mode.I have a copy of the original window sticker which depicts a sticker price of $55,080.00 and a highway mpg of 22 I have regularly obtained 24 on long interstate runs. All 5 tires were new on 5/11/2013 and are Falken ZIEX ZE-912, 215/65R/15-96H. Front brake pads were replaced on 8/21/13 with EBC Red Stuff as were spark plugs and ignition wires, power steering pump replaced 9/12/14. All fluid changes are performed on month or usage rather than mileage, brake fluid is changed every two years, coolant and flush every year, power steering fluid and transmission fluid every year. Engine oil Castrol 20w50 non-synthetic is changed very frequently and especially over the winter layup.The latest work carried out was on 10/20/15 replaced a voltage regulator, all three drive belts, and the heater hose from cylinder head to heater core and flushed and bled the brake fluid .The original dispatched date from Browns Lane Coventry England was 8/23/1991 the car was first sold on 2/29/1992 by A.C. Imports in Illinois to its first owner I am the third, the description lists a Daimler 4.0 Cat 1992.
