1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Auto 65,000 Miles Matching Number Drive Train. Original 396 engine with the vin stamped on it. The car was repainted in the early 2000's along with the interior re-done in black. Original paint code is 59. Paint is nice with a straight, solid body. This is a very solid car. Original floors, trunk and quarters. It is an A/C car. Air conditioner compressor was removed many years ago. I have the build sheet stating 396 engine, protect-a-plate, original bill of sale and punch card. I have the original bill of sale from Laurens, S.C. Has always been a southern car. PLEASE READ!! Before we get to the Details: this chevelle started life as a V8 Malibu and MANY, Many YEARS ago this Chevelle was parked and parts were sold off of it and considered a parts car ,so the title was turned in as salvage, so after these chevelles grew in Value This Baby needed another chance since it was Very Solid and Solid Straight Frame. With this all said, the chevelle was totally rebuilt the Title is North Carolina and Shows Salvage/Rebuilt. but NOT a Wrecked Rebuilt Car! This is a 1967 Chevelle with all correct SS badging and correct SS hood. the engine is badged a 396 but is a 454 which was the most dependable of the two! the engine runs great w/ No problems! has a small cam that sounds great! Trans is the correct 400 turbo for SS, shifts good w/ No problems. Rear is a 10bolt w/ what feels like 3.55 or 3.73 gear. The Color on this Chevelle is RARE an Awesome,1967 code "M" ROYAL PLUM,(i would call it a Black Cherry) either way it really looks GOOD! the actual code on the cowl tag is "RR" Red. Paint is Very Slick But Not Perfect, showing a few blemishes(look @ pics). Body is VERY Straight! and RUST FREE! Floor pans and trunk pans also look very solid and Rust Free. There are some things that need TLC. the gas gauge is NOT working, wipers NOT working, the drivers seat will need re Padding(seat covers are good). right inside door pull is missing, the Chrome strip on the Dash under the pad is missing (if you dont kno these cars you would not notice it..) just trying to be Honest about the car.. the Headlights tailights Etc., WORK! Ron This is a factory super rare 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport 'SS' big block 454 factory air Convertible the "real deal" & needs to be completely restored /repaired. This SS show car was recently a victim of a tragic incident, an assumed electrical fire caused extensive damage to the interior including the dash destroying many of it parts. This vehicle is being sold as-is. I have no parts to include, unless otherwise stated, however I have located all parts needed if you need assistance in gathering them just let me know. A clean title will be provided without any branding. If I don't sell this SS, then I will keep it & give it another frame-off restoration. Exterior was Factory Mulsanne Blue with White Top, Stripes were probably black. Interior is Black with bucket seats. Actual mileage is unknown. Its needs include but are not limited to: paint, a windshield, all new wiring, convertible top, all new interior such as carpet, door panels, steering wheel, maybe a column, complete 100% dash kit which includes dash housing, pad, gauges & harness. Also note that one of the quarter glasses is slightly chipped. The fire did not spread into the trunk area however the firemen used the pick axe to open the trunk (wished they had asked for the keys :) so a trunk lid will be needed. They also used a pick axe on the hood so it is too damaged to use so I bought an used original GM hood with no rust to replace the old. Buyer can have the original cowl hood if wanted. There was minor fire damage under the hood, as a result the engine compartment will need full restoration, A front clip kit might save some shop hours since the heat cooked away the paint in the engine compartment & also on some of the fenders, but the engine can be started.
