For sale is my 1971 Buick Skylark Convertible. It has a 455 cubic inch engine with a TH400 automatic transmission and a Quadrajet 4 barrel carb. It has a power top with a hard glass rear window. The car drives and sounds fantastic. I bought it in 2012 from a family friend who had acquired it in 2009 fresh off restoration at a Barrett Jackson auction. I've maintained it, driven it, and enjoyed it ever since then. I have saved all receipts and have documentation from the prior owner for the restoration, including photos of the car stripped down to the bone and on the auction block at Barrett Jackson. The car does not have, and does not appear to have ever had, any rust issues. The interior is black and in excellent condition with no tears or rips anywhere. I recently replaced the instrument bezel and added an OEM style tachometer instead of the broken old clock. The lights in the dash have been upgraded to LED. The heat and A/C both work. The stereo is modern but retro style and has an AUX input to connect to a phone and is hooked up to 5.25 inch Pioneer speakers in the kickpanels. It has outputs for a subwoofer if you feel so inclined. I also have the original AM radio, kick panels, and steering wheel in case the buyer wants to make it look like it did when it rolled off the line in 1971. They will be included with the car. I give the interior a 9/10 with the only points deducted for some fading in the color of the carpet. The paint and chrome are in great condition, though not without a few minor blemishes here and there. The imperfections are not visible unless you get up pretty close. Certainly no dents or wrinkles. The body is completely straight and the under carriage is clean. The glass is very good with only a couple of small chips (no cracking). I give the exterior of the car an 8/10. It is not a museum piece but I would not hesitate to park it at any car show. I get "thumbs up" wherever I go. You can proudly drive this car anywhere. I drive the car at least two times a week and more if I can. The prior owner did not drive it much and many of the issues that I have addressed were related to the car just sitting. The miles on the odometer are most likely inaccurate. As mentioned, the car was completely restored in 2009. That said, there are probably fewer than 5k miles on the car since 2009. Within the last two months, I replaced nearly all of the gaskets, seals, hoses, and grommets so that the engine does not drip oil. It's got a brand new alternator, thermostat, water pump, starter, battery, transmission mounts, motor mounts, and harmonic balancer. The car was also tuned and all of the fluids replaced. I have all receipts. It starts right up and runs like a champ. It is powerful and fast but also a comfortable cruiser. I love this car and will be just fine keeping it if it doesn't sell. I have a clean Georgia title that I can sign over to the buyer. The buyer is responsible for picking the car up or having it shipped. 1968 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible. 350 V-8 with 2bbl carburetor. 3 speed Hydramatic Transmission on the column. Power Steering and Brakes. 110,000 miles. Car has some documentation like owner manual, protect-o-plate and some maintenance records. Tires are older but have great tread and no dry rot – very authentic to the car and its age. Original radio is still there and it works. Also have a set of Skylark wheel covers and steel wheels which originally came on the car if you are interested. Recently passed NYS inspection. Car was purchased new at Greenwood Buick by an older woman. She sold it years later to the man I bought it from who was 89 years old. Car is very solid with great frame. It has been repainted at some point. Car shows well but you can see some sanding marks below the paint in some places. Chrome is excellent and all parts are there. Interior is original and again excellent in my opinion. Top goes up and down with no problem. Runs, drives and shifts very smoothly though there is a small exhaust leak somewhere near the manifold. Rear bumper is only item which may need some attention depending how fussy you are. There is a small hole started, maybe 1 inch wide, see pictures. There is a replacement bumper sale on e-bay now for around $400.00. This is a nice cruiser but not a show car winner. In 1968 8,188 Skylark Convertibles were made, which is about 6% of the 133,563 total Skylarks built. Please ask any questions prior to bidding if you have any concerns. 1969 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible This is a real true survivor it has 110,600 original miles on it . It is for the most part pretty original. The engine is a 350 4bbl from a 1977 Fullsize Buick , lots of power from that boat plus modern HEI , original TH 350 Auto Trans . No rust or even a hint of rust , clean floors and trunk floor . The body has a professional newer modern base coat clear coat two stage urethane refinish in the original color Antique Gold . I took close up photos of each panel to prove how good straight smooth and glossy the paint job is, just look at the mirror like gloss and reflection in the paint. The convertible top and all hydraulic related parts are all brand new this year . The top frame was completely stripped and refinished in semi gloss black . The interior is all 100% original including the factory Buick Tri Shield Crested floor mats . Perfect dash, factory AC, power windows and power bench seat . Also new this year complete front and rear drum brakes overhaul , master cylinder and new BFG white letter tires on original nice Buick Sport Wheels. This car runs and drives very good ,absolutely no disappointments with this car . Here is a 1968 Buick Skylark Custom 2 Door Hardtop. This Skylark is in excellent condition. The body is all original with no rust or bondo and the floors and frame are also rust free. The engine/transmission/axle are also original and it runs and drives great. The 350ci V8 starts right up and runs smoothly with no smoking or issues. Stays cool and has no leaks that I am aware of. It has been well maintained over the years. Transmission shifts exactly as it should and the kick down works properly. The power steering is tight and the power brakes work well. The interior is all original and the seats, door panels, and headliner are all excellent as shown. Comes with a set of Buick Rally wheels but it has the proper 68 wheel covers on it too. It really needs nothing to get in and drive it as it sits. Original A/C Skylark and everything is in place for the A/C but there is no belt on the compressor and it has been that way for years. Drives great and it looks great. Clean California title included. Hard to find in this condition with no rust or repairs/patches. Great body lines, this Skylark gets a lot of compliments. I took over 80 photos and a video a couple days ago to show it thoroughly. The original grill is gone and that is the only thing that was changed. This 1971 Buick Skylark convertible is an exceptional survivor with original paint. The bodywork is straight and has no signs of accidents or rust repair. The doors open and close well, and all the fit, alignment and gaps are what you would expect from the factory. The chrome is original, emblems, glass and lenses are nice and the car presents as a high quality original. The white interior is a great match with the red exterior. The seat covers are original without any split seams or apparent wear on the seating surfaces and the foam underneath remains firm and supportive. The carpets are original as are the door panels, both in excellent condition. The steering wheel is cracking and probably should be replaced. The trunk is finished with factory spatter paint and the original mat. The white power top was recently replaced, works superbly, latching without any problems and tucking neatly under a black boot. The 350 cubic inch V8 has 230hp, starts quickly and is energetic and smooth. Under the hood is mostly original style hardware, with a factory air cleaner with "350-2", denoting the 2-barrell carburetor. It's not ready for show in preservation classes, but with a little cleanup it has the potential to do great. The TH350 3-speed automatic shifts smoothly, the suspension and brakes have been well maintained. This car could easily be driven any distance without a concern.
