1972 Buick Skylark Custom If your looking for a decent looking classic car to cruise around in this summer that is mechanically sound for a price that wont break the bank, then this car may be worth your consideration. I would consider this car driver quality and a strong candidate for a complete restoration at some point in the future because all of the numbers are matching. This car was donated to a small, local community college a few years ago and used for both mechanical and auto-body instruction. The 350 Buick engine was rebuilt to stock specs under the direction of the instructor and runs like a clock! The body on the other hand was probably done in "Auto-Body 101" because it has some pretty amateurish work done to it (sheet metal, pop rivets and plenty of body filler). Whoever did the rocker panels might have failed the class. The paint is fair at best and does not hold much of a shine. The frame and floor pans are still solid thanks to factory undercoating at the time, but there is some rust starting to come out above the rear wheels and in a few small places throughout. The trunk pan has been replaced. The interior is in pretty decent shape, but would require a fair amount of work to be perfect. The driver seat is split in several places and would need to be recovered. The motor for the power seat is very weak and will need replaced. The dash has a split in it, the steering wheel has a couple cracks, the carpet is fair, the headliner has some wrinkles and there is a small spot on the back seat that has tape (probably covering a small hole). One of the heater/defroster hoses looks like it was replaced with a dryer vent hose. Heater and blower work good. The front bumper has been kissed at some point and it looks like someone tried to straighten it out with a hammer. The rear bumper is straight with light oxidation throughout. All of the glass is original and good. All of the body panels appear to be original. Both of the doors, hood and trunk open and close well. Doors are solid with no sagging. The car has a very strong and clean running 350 Buick engine with original 4 Bbl Rochester carburetor, 350 Turbo transmission, 2:73 stock rear-end and dual exhaust (has a deep rumble that sounds good). Car starts right up, shifts smoothly and goes down the road straight. The power disc breaks work very well. The power steering is good and tight. All of the lights and guages work as they should. I've driven this car probably two hundred miles this past week without any issues at all. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country! After market guages and Pro-Tack work well and light up. Car has a really nice Pioneer stereo system with blue tooth, satellite, CD and a bunch of other stuff that I don't know much about. Sony kickers in the back and Sony mid-range speakers behind passenger seat. Stereo sounds really good. Original stereo missing and the dash hole filled with an older Sony stereo with a cassette player (not hooked up). The windshield wiper motor is a little weak until it gets warmed up and may need to be replaced/rebuilt some time soon. The car came with factory air but the compressor has been removed. The Buick rally wheels look to be original and are in near perfect condition. The BFG Cobra tires are in very good condition. Just to summarize; The car is mechanically sound and would make for a really nice summer driver at an affordable price. The car has all matching numbers and would make for a good restoration project. The frame is solid. The car looks pretty decent from twenty feet away. The engine compartment looks pretty clean. The interior looks pretty decent overall and is fairly clean. I have the oil change receipts since car was rebuilt. That's about it. Overall it is a pretty decent looking and running car that reminds me a lot of my old Chevelle. This car is priced to sell! Please look at the photo's and don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. You are more than welcome to come out and inspect the car in person. This ad is accurate to the best of my ability. No games - Nothing hidden - No monkey business! Please make sure that you are able to complete the transaction before hitting the "Buy-It-Now" button. I've had lots of problems with non-paying bidders in the past and it is a real hassle to get reimbursed from ebay and to get the car re-listed. A $500 security deposit is required through Paypal within 24 hours of purchasing or the car will be relisted. All checks must clear before car leaves my possession. Cash preferred. Thanks for looking! I forgot to add the following: The car currently has 104,075 miles on it. The engine was rebuilt at 94,672 miles. Also, there is a nice remote control that operates the stereo system. I also wanted to mention that my wife and others thought that I was being "overly critical" in my description of the car. Well, I worked in a body shop and did sheet metal fabrication and paint many years ago, so I tend to be a bit critical of other peoples work. I always try to be as accurate as possible in my descriptions so that I avoid buyer let-down by over promising something. Overall I think this is a nice car and the new owner will be happy for a long time to come. That is all.

This is a great little cruiser fresh out of the barn and there is no reserve on the auction. This is basically road ready for some Spring/Summer cruising with a patina look to it, or a very straight forward restoration with some paint and a new top and very light restoration in the interior and you have a really nice car and possibly flip it and make a buck. It is very complete and all original car that will need very little whether you fully restore it or just to cruise around as is, or while you restore it. Finish -- Grade C-: Older repaint of the original Wedgewood Blue color paint, faded, probably would buff out ok. Body -- Grade B: Very nice body I took photos of some rust in the rear wheel wells. Front passenger fender has some filler in the bottom of it. Solid floors. Trunk is solid but with a a hole on one side and a very poor fiberglass patch on the other as shown in photos Trim Code info: 10C ST 64-4367 FB 415 BDY TR 141 HH 1 PAINT ACC W – 2P – 4F 10C = 3rd week of October build date 64 = 1964 4367 = 2 door convertible FB = Flint Michigan TR 141 = Blue standard bench HH 1 = Wedgewood Blue White top W = Tinted Windshield 2P = RPO Z01 Comfort and Convenience Package 4F = RPO Z13 Comfort and Convenience Package VIN Reads 3K1019783 3 = Buick K = 1964 1 = Flint Michigan 019783 = sequential number Frame -- Grade A-: Some scale but solid with no rust or damage. Frame is straight and never damaged in an accident. Bumpers - Grade B+: Bumpers are straight originals with light patina. Bright work – Grade B : All trim is on the car. Other then some some very light patina is all original and will clean up well. Glass Grade B+ : All original glass in very good condition. All rubber and fuzzies are original and will need replacement. Interior B: Great all original interior, no rips in the original upholstery. Carpet is a little discolored but no holes or major wear spots. Great door and rear panels. Dash is clean and will just need some light cleaning and restoration. Factory AM radio works, could use a speaker. The convertible top needs replacing, and the power top motor would not activate when I hit the switch. These are pretty easy to service and parts are readily available. Wipers work great, no turn signals but parking lights come on. No headlights when the switch is turned on, maybe the headlight switch or lamps? Fuse? . Wheels Grade B+ : Factory correct steel wheels 14 X 6 with factory original hubcaps Tires Grade B- : Early bias ply tires, some weather checking, excellent tread, holds air, rolls down the road smooth, no idea on the age. Probably will need to be replaced due to age. Suspension Grade OK: Visual check, is complete with no signs of wear or damage, have not road tested other then around our parking lot. Exhaust Grade NOT OK: No exhaust system whatsoever, well need a new one installed. Rear-end Grade OK: Numbers matching original rear differential contains original open 3:08 rear-end gear. Ignition Grade OK: Factory original points set up, starts up easily with no misses. Air Conditioning/Heater Grade B: Non/A/C car, no leaks, fan works, original heater controls and work as designed. The fan motor operates and works like new. Transmission Grade OK: Original 2 speed Powerglide speed with factory original shifter and linkage. No leaks fluid looks clean. Brakes Grade A-: Power Brakes with drums all around. New Master cylinder, all new wheel cylinders, rear axle brake lines all recently replaced. Engine Grade A: Original 300 V8 with 2 barrel carburetor. Complete with all original brackets and equipment, nice complete original car under the hood. Does not smoke on start up or after warmed up. No noises or knocks cold or warm. Runs smooth under acceleration. No serious leaks just some light weeping around the valve covers. New gas tank and sending unit. Runs well!!! Summary: This is a great little car that needs a little if any work to have a lot of inexpensive fun with. I seriously considered just keeping it to tool around in to the beach this summer or run errands in as is. I figured I would drop the top and just leave it in the garage. Currently it needs an exhaust that would be about $200 installed. That said it is an awesome base for a restoration that requires no real serious repair. Repaint this car and add a new top/repair the power top and some light restoration on the interior and under the hood and you have a great restored car worthy of local shows. If you are a paint and body car you have a great investment! Even if you are not, convertibles are excellent investments and hold their value well. I have tried my best to represent this vehicle as honestly and completely as possible, however there are no warranties given or implied and this vehicle is sold as is. Shipping is the responsibility of the Buyer, however may I suggest two great local shippers that will help you get your car from Traverse City to anywhere in the US including to international shipping ports for international buyers. I have used both and advise you call both for a quote and problem free fast shipping. - Advanced Motors LLC @ 231-346-3400 ask for Dimitry - Double Time Transportation @231-929-8981 Questions.....call me at 231-350-3491 or 231-935-3840 ask for Reggie.
