You are looking at a nicely restored and rare (in this condition) 1969 VW Type 3 Fastback, probably the only one in Florida. The full restoration was completed over the past couple of years by the two prior owners... including fresh paint, brand new interior, new 1641 Brazilian sourced VW engine with dual weber 34 carbs, rebuilt auto transmission, new brakes and ball joints. The car is very clean (southern car from Texas) with no evidence of rust underneath or anywhere on the car. The odometer, which is working, shows 60,490 miles but exact mileage on the car is unknown. The car has been stored and hardly driven over the past three years...perhaps 1,000 miles. I've taken it out this week and easily cruised the local highway at 65 mph. The previous owner of this car was planning to convert to a 4-speed manual transmission but never started the work. Included in the sale are all the parts you'll need (some new, some reconditioned/used) to do a manual conversion including transmission, brand new shifter, clutch pedals etc. **The tunnel is already in place underneath. I would recommend that the new owner spend a little time driving it like I did before considering a manual swap. This automatic is sprightly and quick- nothing like I expected from my experience with VW's old auto-sticks. If I kept the car I'd leave it as an automatic. It starts up, runs great and does not smoke or burn oil. There are the usual vw oil drips underneath and my mechanic advises me the car will need new tie rods (about $200). The photos tell the story. The paint job was well done throughout. There are a couple small areas where the paint has developed hairline cracks- I've included photos of those spots and they are only noticeable from up close. The interior is like new- no tears or marks on the seats, excellent headliner and carpet in rear deck lid. Nicely painted dash to match the outside. Original radio works (like an old radio) and plays through the dash mounted speaker. The clock does not work- what a surprise. Speedometer, gas gauge, lights, wipers all work as they should. There is all new weather stripping on the doors. The glass all around is excellent and windows crank as they should. The front trunk and rear storage area are clean- see photos. Seat belts front and rear. The car is riding on 15 inch Empi, Porsche Fuchs replica wheels with Porsche center caps. The tires have less than 1,000 miles on them. Chrome is excellent. This rare VW Fastback is also listed for sale locally so the Ebay listing may be ended at any time. Keep in mind that this car is now 46 years old. It's not perfect and is sold strictly as-is with no warranties expressed or implied. Email me with any questions and I'll answer to the best of my very limited mechanical knowledge. May be seen in person in Orlando, FL. Get in touch to make an appointment by email through Ebay.

UP FOR AUCTION IS THIS 1966 VW VOLKSWAGEN TYPE III FASTBACK NEWER RESTORATION AND REBUILT MOTOR. THIS FASTBACK WAS RESTORED AND MOTOR REBUILT. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS IT IS IN GREAT CONDTION, THE INTERIOR LOOKS NEW SEATS, CARPET AND IN THE TRUNK AS WELL. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS BUG THE GUY I PURCHASED FROM SAID HE HAD THE MOTOR REBUILT IN 2007 THEN DID THE REST OF RESTORATION AND ONLY DROVE IT 4000.00 MILES. HE DID SAY IT IS A TYPE 1 MOTOR. AS YOU CAN SEE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT IT IS SUPER CLEAN AND HE EVEN SEALED IN COMPARTMENT. THE PAINT IS NICE BUT NOT SUPER HIGH DOLLAR PAINT JOB. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SOME BODY WORK ON FRONT UNDERSIDE WHERE BUMPER GO'S. OTHER THEN THAT THE BODY LOOKS GREAT. ON PASSENGERSIDE THERE IS SOME PAINT CHIPPING AND ON INSIDE OF DRIVERS DOOR ALONG EDGE(KEYS GOT LOCKED IN COAT HANGER) IT SHOULD BE A EASY TOUCH UP. I THINK THE CLUTCH MAY NEED A LITTLE ADJUSTING AND THE IDLE RESET A LITTLE, THE CAR DOES HAVE LARGER SIZE TIRES ON IT RIGHT NOW SO WHEN YOU TURN SHARP THEY RUB SOME. OTHER THEN THAT IT IS A DAILY DRIVER AND WE JUST HAD IT IN THE CAR SHOW HERE WHERE WE HAD LOTS OF WAVES AND CHEERS. I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK.
