2002 VW Passat. 2.8L V6 Engine with Automatic Transmission superbly maintained, 90% garage kept, and running smoothly. This is considered a great year for Volkswagen because the car shared a chassis with the Audi. It has a very luxury feel. 4-MOTION ALL WHEEL DRIVE. This car was owned by my parents. Except for the past 18 months it has been garage kept in the suburbs. It has been superbly maintained at the dealership. The interior and exterior are in excellent condition. Always top quality oil and high octane gas! No accidents.172,000 miles are mostly highway miles (driven back and forth to ski in Vermont). Clean and Clear title. Passed NYS inspection. According to the Kelly Blue Book standard I would rate the car in very good condition. A couple of things to note: It sips oil a bit quickly (as most 10 year old cars do) but we're talking about adding a bit of oil every couple of months or just being aware of it on a long road trip. Haven't bothered diagnosing it because it is so minor. In addition, the right front windshield cleaner shooter isn't working. You can still clean the windshield automatically(though admittedly not as well as with both nozzles). Decent car for student, and/or someone to fix up if desired. I am selling this because I got a newer car and don't need two. Kelly Blue Book value: $2350 - $2850 (fair to good, see picture)The good:Runs great, nice interior, classy 'cockpit' look at night on the dash, new catalytic converters and oil change in June, about 20-26mpg, HEATED SEATS!, good power, smooth quiet ride.Engine is from a 2003 Passat and has approximately 180K miles on it. The guy I bought it from replaced the engine and sold it to me. I have the salvage title from the car it came from and documentation of the milage when I bought this car. Fully loaded options: 4-motion AWD, heated/powered leather seats, power sun/moon roof, premium sound system, telescoping/tilt steering wheel, this car has all the options that were available at the time, some I still don't know about. The bad/needs: It has a dent in the rear passenger side-see picture. Tires have about 5-10K miles left. It needs a shift knob (still works but it's a pain).Warning lights are on: engine light for the catalytic converters but didn't go off when replaced; brake and ABS light on-nothing wrong with brakes-front pads have ~75% and rears~35% of pad left ( I was told it is probably a bad sensor); I didn't care about the ABS light-my last car didn't have ABS so I don't know what is wrong if anything; same with airbag warning light.The port to plug in a reader is not working to fix the warning light problem. It wasn't worth it to me to fix it, the car runs as it should and has been this way for 3 years. It has some basic scratches and imperfections associated with a 13 year old car with high miles. This car is actually located in Stoughton, WI, which is 12 miles southwest of Madison.
