Here is your chance to stand out from the 911 crowd and own a rare piece of Porsche history. Up for sale is this beautiful 1993 Porsche 968 cabriolet. The car has been under the same ownership since 1999. While under that owner's possession, it was used as a secondary vehicle that was mainly driven to and from the beach. It did not live in a garage but under a carport. The interior is in good condition and all intact, but overall it shows some signs of it living outside. It was just recently professionally detailed and the pictures do not do the paint any justice. The shine on this car is nothing short of stunning. The 17" factory alloys are all in good shape with great tread on all tires. The top works perfectly fine but only in manual mode, which most owners actually prefer due to it being much faster. The car also comes with the factory CD changer in the trunk. The car runs, shifts and drives perfectly. The only mechanical issue is there is a hint of a transmission input shaft bearing whine. The car is being sold as is but that issue can be corrected at the buyers expense.

To make a long story short ....The Car was purchased in Pennsylvania in the fall of 1994, In October of 1996 it was in a accident which damaged the hood, right fender and bumper, radiator & condenser and both airbags.Because of the replacement part costs at that time it was deemed, too expensive to fix. It was sold though a insurance auction in November 1996 (with 30,917 miles).A family friends father purchased the car from the insurance company and soon found out , that it was very difficult to find replacement parts for a 968 because there were not many made.He put the Porsche in Storage in the rear of his garage (with a car cover) and it sat until he passed away in December of 2012 (over 16 years).I purchased the car from his son in April of 2013, then I started looking for a OEM Hood , Fender, Bumper, airbags and new radiator & condenser. The car was repaired in July 2013, the parts painted and blended into the doors. The paint is the same factory correct paint. The car went through the New York State DMV inspection process in August of 2013 and approved with flying colors. The car is in Great Condition and is stored inside during the winter. This is the cleanest 968 you will ever see......

1992 Porsche 968 6 Speed Convertible Only 70k! What a car. Runs and drives 100%, clutch feels new. It is clearly a well cared for well maintained car. Car cover / boot , books extra keys. Cold AC. Just serviced and inspected. No accidents. I had my mechanic go through it and the first thing he pointed out was the new water pump indicating the timing belt was done which is huge. Good Michelin tires and brakes with plenty life left. I am happy to deliver anywhere in New England / NY, NJ. Many people find it helpful to have this as an option if you can't make it to see the car ( appt only ) Please send me a note if you are interested in learning how I normally set that up, - include your zip code and info on any old vehicle your looking to get rid of etc. You do not have to pay for the car before hand. Offered is this rare hard to find Porsche 968 Convertible with 5 speed manual. Looks, runs and drives great.Has approximately 25, 000 miles on the professionally swapped and modified Mazda RX 8 engine and transmission. Have a narrative build sheet and pictures of this swap from its owner who originally built this having with him only the car less engine and transmission. It was well built/done and no corners were cut with even the low mileage Rotary totally rebuilt. A lot of man hours went into this from machinist to fabricators to best install the engine and transmission. Original miles were 20,000 on the RX-7 engine it came out of ad it was driven very little since then. Has fewer horse power of course then the 3.0 liter original Porsche engine but braking and handling is far more superior in this modified version. This body style and model of Porsche is very Rare and the way it sits now; it runs, looks and drives great. I know to a Porsche purist, this may not look appealing buy considering its rarity, I'm glad it was modified to be put back on the road for enjoyment. A great daily driver and all around vehicle. this car is ready for the road with all the services and new parts that have been done. Im selling this car for a family member. The car is too hard for them to get in and out of. So they want to sell this car and let some one enjoy this beautiful car that has lots of life left in it. with only 127,000 miles . The list of new parts or part that have been replaced on this car are water pump , all timing parts and verecam pads put on new . new brakes new cluch disk. the car has had new tan leather seats done. the fender was replace the last owner had some one run a cart in to the front right fender and filled it with bondo to fix it. but we did not like that much bondo in the fender so got a used fender that did not have any dents in it . The only thing was that it was red so had it repainted black to match the car. it still needs to be buffed out and then a good wax put on the car. the car has not been driven just been in the shop to keep it out of the sun. it would need to have tags on it so that you could drive it home Thanks for looking if you need any other information then just let me know
