1978 Porsche 924 in NON RUNNING condition, car was sitting for over a year. I got the vehicle started several times then it stopped running. Engine turns over but no spark. I have replaced the fuel filter, plugs, wires, changed the distributor, rotor, cap, battery, negative ground cables, starter. The vehicle has many good parts or a project to get running. It turns over but will not fire. Once again this vehicle is not running and will need to be towed away. I also have the original owners manual and a workshop manual to go with the vehicle. These cars are hard to find in any condition these days and because it is a classic Porsche, it is appreciating in value. Qualifies for classic car insurance through most companies. Selling because a)we can't garage it to keep it nice, and b)we bought it for a teenager and decided it was way too cool to let her ruin it. Has a 4 cylinder engine, manual transmission, runs nicely, fun to drive! 35 mpg highway. Had it checked out by two Porsche mechanics recently. Beautiful body, newer paint job, nice rims and lots of Porsche details. After market Blaupunkt radio and cassette player (time to haul out those old 80's tapes and live it up oldschool). Sunroof, power windows, pop up headlights, Recaro leather sports seats, back seat that can fold down for more storage space in the back. Newer tires, and starter, new headlights, clutch and torque tube, drive shaft and bearings. Recent wax job and oil change, can go 7500 miles in between. Will throw in the oil and filter for the next oil change, as well as fuses, relays, extra headlights and anything else we bought specifically for this car. Comes with original owner's manual and Haynes repair manual if you're a do-it-yourself-er. Have service receipts for recent work done on the car if interested. We bought it a few months ago and have been steadily improving it to maximize its value. Trying to get our investment back if we're not going to keep it. 1987 Porsche 924 S Coupe I'm selling my 1987 Porsche 924s Coupe. It's a great little car and tons of fun to drive. I'd love to keep it, but I need the money to cover some medical bills. It has a brand new air filter and battery. Plus it even comes with the original owner's manual which includes the service stamps from the dealership back in 1987. It does have a crack in the windshield, but it's never caused me any trouble. The only other issue it has is that the aftermarket stereo draws power even when the car isn't running. I've just been disconnecting the battery terminal because I'm too lazy to dig into the issue. You could just have the radio installed properly or have it removed completely. I'm sure it's an easy fix. Aside from that, this is an awesome car to have. It's in great condition considering it's nearly 30 years old! How many people can honestly say they've owned a Porsche? 1977 PORSCHE 924 - A VERY UNIQUE FIND - ONE OWNER. This is a 1977 Porsche 924, one owner car. A 4 CYLINDER/4 SPEED, the car was bought brand new in Anchorage, Alaska. Never saw a snow flake. Driven occasionally in the summer and always garage stored. It has a front-engine and rear-wheel drive with a rear-mounted trans-axle connected to the engine by a rigid torque tube in lieu of a conventional drive shaft. Weight distribution is 48/52. 95 hp. The original owner, for medical reasons, could not drive it anymore. It was then shipped to his brother in Nevada. The car spent 16-18 years in a storage facility. It was fired up and driven once a year. I bought the car and brought it home. After I started the detailing on the car, I realized what a gem it is and what great condition it is in. I put a new battery in it, fresh gas and dialed the engine in. Then, took it for a drive. This car runs and drives like the day it was made. The odometer just turned on to 39,000 original miles while I was driving it. The car itself is in excellent condition for a 37 year old car. The body is completely rust free and everything works perfectly. The interior is almost mint with the exception of a few dash cracks and is missing a tiny console top piece. The carpet and floor mats are perfect and so are the seats, headliner and door panels. All of the rubber body seals are perfect. This car has absolutely no creaks or rattles of any kind...anywhere! This car is perfect for anybody who wants a rare car that needs almost no money put into it. I am not a Porsche guy, so I just want a good home for this one owner Porsche. I did my research on what they sell for and also Blue Book value, which states $5,800 to $12,000. I cannot find any in this condition with these low miles, or any one owner Porsche 924's, so I am offering this car at $6,500. I am open to any fair and reasonable offer that comes close to that. Thanks for looking. Wife says I must sell this car so I will consider all serious offers. 1978 Porsche 924 Track Car. This car is track ready, tech inspected and recently ran at Brainerd,MN International Raceway. Built by Bill Katz (Katz Klassics) in the mid 90s near Pittsburgh. Bill is known for his work on European cars and built this car for his wife to drive at the track. Built with many upgrades to engine, transmission and suspension. I visited with Bill about the car before I bought it and he said he built it with the "best of the best". Procar by Scat race seat and race alignment/setup make for a fun car to get into track time at BIR. It's also street legal. Bottom line is that this car was built by an expert and is fun to drive at the track. I also have a 944s2 and this 924 ran the same times as the 944s2 with track tires this past summer. This car is a blast to drive and handles very well! I have five new RARE 14 inch Hoosier race tires and five Porsche rims worth well over $1,500 that are included. Purchased the car last summer and went through the brake system, new inner wheel and outer wheel bearings and a new strut to replace one that was leaking. This car had no problem passing track tech inspection. I visited with Bill regarding what he put into the car, he recently told me: Turbo fuel pump, Audi 5cy trubo fuel pressure valve regulator, throttle body was ported out, adjustable cam gear, Ansa exhaust system off turbo model. He also lowered the car with a spring kit. Other details I know about the car: 2.0 single overhead cam, long tume headers, Wiseco Pistons 0.50 over, 79 transmission for shorter gear ratio, KYB shocks, Procar by Scat Race seat, 5 point harness and OEM 3 point on driver and passenger sides (for ride a longs), MSD wires and Coil, Motor painted to match the color of car, very little rust - was stored most of its life, BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires - same tire Bill put on in the 90s. Plenty of tread for cruising the town, Roll Cage, Working turning signals, lights and brake lights. (Note: headlights must be turned up manually and the windshield wipers don't work) I didn't fix either because I didn't need either to run at track.Really looking forward to driving this car this fall but need to sell.
