1975 Porsche 914-2, Twin Webers, extra clean, engine rebuild 12,000 miles ago. Only 84,000 miles on car. All original interior in perfect condition without a single crack. The exterior is re-painted with red and black pin-striping. It has a targa top and chrome wheels with Porche shield. The Porsche 914 was the very last Porsche built by Volkswagen. She's a California no rust car!!! In 1999 When the current owner purchased the car from the original owner, the car was a "Survivor"- the car was in original condition, exterior and interior and the body without any damage or rust. Once the car received it's first paint job and new rubber, in 25 years, it was insured by it's current owner at $22,000, which is what Hagerty Classic Cars valued a 1975 Porsche 914 2.0 Liter at. On August 10, 2007, she was hit in the driver's rear corner causing only some minor body damage. Current owner has all the photos to show the damage, and why he put a 916 tail on her. The market report was done by The Hartford to determine the amount of damage done to the car. The report goes through the car's interior, exterior and mechanical. All the mechanicals received an "exceptional" grade. The interior and exterior received either "above average" or "exceptional". Please note that the report is dated one week AFTER the accident, prior to any repairs. The car, however, is no longer considered a "Survivor" with only one paint job. She now has had two paint jobs, which Hagerty now values at $13,500. The car has a salvage title but not because of anything involving the interior, exterior or mechanical condition.

Porsche 914 1.8L 914's were so much in demand in the early 70's that Porsche had to start sending their European models over to replace the shortage. European models are one year in advance. This car has the desirable 1974 bumpers and the ID # is a 1974. The only problem is Porsche could not send them with 2.0 motors for the first year and had to use their ADVANCED 1.8 motors. This may be a rare 1974 that was first sold and registered as a 1972. Another way to tell if it is a rare 1974 is if the battery is in the engine compartment and not in the rear compartment (trunk) 47,490 miles Shipping Buyer Responsible for shipping. California Car purchased from Vasek Polak in Hermosa Beach in 1972. Two owner car for it’s entire lifetime, “in Southern California.” No rust. The car went through a complete Windows out, quality paint job Guards Red to original Porsche 914 Competition Orange. (only thing left to do is install Front Hood Seal) This beautiful little Porsche runs fantastic. Tires like new, brakes like new. All electrical works perfect. Two sets of seats (see photos) Clear California Title. Reg. good through 8/15 Car in located in San Jose, California. I just acquired this beautiful Porsche as a trade. The only thing I notice is there are a couple of cracks on the dash and a couple of Hair like scratches in the paint that are hard to notice. Beautiful and mostly restored Southern California car. A lot of the work has been completed already - just needs somebody who will appreciate and enjoy this classic air cooled Porsche! Basics: The 1.8L flat-4 engine comes with original fuel injection and runs great. 5-speed transmission had a recent fluid change and shifts good too. Brakes are fine as well. Seats are decent, dash has some usual cracking but overall interior is in good functional condition with regular wear. All gauges work. Odometer shows about 29K but it's a 5 digit unit so true mileage is unknown. Recent maintenance and repairs: a nearly $4K dark red paint job, rubber seals throughout, battery, windshield, rear bearings, shifter bushings, pushrod tubes, tie rod ends (including alignment). A new rear trunk bottom was installed at the repaint and a rear trunk lid shock kit was installed. All minor surface rust it had has been professionally repaired so there virtually no body rust! Floors are solid. Heating system has been fully restored including all hoses, cables and valves. I've repaired/replaced a lot of cosmetics and minor stuff so the car is ready for usage. Upgrades: the wheels have been upgraded to 4-lug Fuchs wheels (2-liter alloys) with good tires which were optional for this year. I also mounted a replica of factory front LE spoiler installed which looks great and sits high enough to avoid scraping on curbs. Has a Pioneer AM/FM/CD unit with good floor speakers. Included: some minor spare parts including extra body seals, fog lamps, car cover, shop manuals, original Porsche steering wheel, electric pump for windshield washer conversion, etc. Summary: the car is a very solid driver. It runs and drives great and is a lot of fun especially with top down. Took a several hour trip on I5 not long ago - didn't skip a beat. It handles great, steers straight and tight and accelerates pretty good too! I enjoy driving it very much but I currently have 3 vehicles so something needs to go. It would make a great summer ride! I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere at this point. However, please keep in mind that it's a regularly used 40 year old vehicle and adjust your expectations accordingly. This is the last year that doesn't require SMOG in CA so can be driven without a worry. Either way the catalytic converter is still in place. Logistics: the car is available for pickup in San Francisco, CA. I have a clear title in hand and it's ready to be signed over to a new owner. Buyer assumes the responsibility of picking it up. I'm willing to work with buyer's shipping company if need be. A $500 deposit via paypal is expected within 48 business hours with the rest through paypal or bank check/cash in person. Bank checks are subject to verification by the seller. I may consider a reasonable offer. Please think carefully before making an offer, I know what the car is worth so I lets not waste each others time with something too low.
