Salvage titles are deemed such by an insurance company, not a government agency. A salvage title car is a car that an insurance company had paid off, at a point, its value to the original owner. 2. How does a car become salvage?There are many reasons for this. The most common is collision. A lot of these salvage cars, however, are simply recovered theft cars. Recovered theft cars get a salvage title if they are recovered after the original owner has been paid off. Usually this happens after 30 days. 3. FOR SALE: 2001 Porsche 911 / 996 Carrera Cabriolet (convertible) Hello. Thanks for taking a look at Porsche I have for sale. This is a great running and good looking 911. It needs nothing and I continue to drive it. EXTERIOR: The car is in very good shape. As you can see in the pictures, the body is in overall great shape for a 2001. There are a few small chips and scratches here and there, but nothing stands out. MECHANICAL: I give the mechanical 10 out of 10 on condition. The car runs and drives beautifully. The engine runs strong and smooth with no smoke on cold startup or any other time for that matter. The Tiptronic automatic transmission shifts great. NO LEAKS whatsoever. The brakes and tires have lots of life left. In fact, the wheels and tires only have around 5,000 miles on them. Shocks/struts feel good and there are no clunks or other noises. At 109,000 miles, this car received major service including new: timing chains and guides, intermediate shaft (IMS) bearing, Water Pump, and Battery. INTERIOR: Each and every power option in this car is working correctly. This includes all of the power windows, locks, audio, cruise control, convertible top, etc. The convertible top is newer and opens easily up, down, back, and forward very smoothly and with no abnormal noises. I’ve two-toned the interior with black accents (steering wheel, center console, etc.). The stereo sounds excellent. The car will come with one key/fob. The original window sticker (showing an $82,265 original price) along with lots of factory manuals/literature is also included. This is a great running car but it is a used vehicle and I’m a private seller, therefore, the buyer understands the vehicle is a used vehicle and is sold in “as-is” condition with no warranty. I’ve described the condition of the car based on my opinion. The vehicle is located in Goodyear, AZ and has a clean and clear title. Also, I’m continuing to drive this vehicle so the miles may be slightly higher than I have advertised. Untitled Document 1999 Porsche 996 Carerra Cabriolet - Black/Grey Up for sale is my 1999 Porsche 996 Carerra Cabriolet. The car just rolled 90,000 miles and has been our steadfast weekend getaway vehicle since 2008. The title is clear, in my name, and in hand. The Porsche is a cabriolet model, with an automatic transmission and Porsche’s Tiptronic option for manual shifting. Also included is the original hard shell top and the Porsche OEM hard top caddy. The car also includes custom black O.Z. Alleggerita HLT wheels that were purchased in combination with Yokohama AVID ENVigor tires in May of 2011. The turn signals were replaced with clear shell turn signals but the originals will be included with the auction. The original radio was also replaced with a Pioneer head unit but the original Porsche OEM radio is also included in the sale. All the original manuals, tools, wheel lugnut key, spare tire and paperwork is included as pictured. Also included is a binder with all maintenance receipts since we have owned the vehicle. The car has always been garage kept under my ownership, and service was performed regularly by our local Porsche dealership. Recent maintenance includes an oil/filter change using Mobile-1 synthetic, steering wheel grommet replacement to correct a horn issue, and a new coolant reservoir. A few years back, the rear main seal was replaced along with some other regular maintenance, and currently, the car does not leak any oil. The tires have decent tread in the front, but the rears should probably be changed in the next 3-6 months. The interior is clean, and comes from a smoke-free home. There are no foul odors or stains of any kind. Premium fuel has always been used. The seats show typical wear for a vehicle of this age, particularly around the driver’s side lumbar cushion. The dash LCD has had the issue pictured around the temp readout since we have owned the vehicle, but it has never caused a problem. All the windows work correctly, as does the cabriolet top. On the outside, the paint does have its fair share of dings and scratches. The worst spots being a ding on the driver’s door and damage to the nose where there is a scratch and cracked paint. There are a few other spots where the paint could use some attention as the car is black and shows every little blemish and imperfection, but it still looks excellent for a 17 year old vehicle. All the issues could be corrected by the new owner relatively easily. The car has never broke down, left us stranded or had any other major mechanical issues. Regretfully, I am selling now due to some life circumstances that require a more practical vehicle with 4 doors. The car is for sale elsewhere, and I reserve the right to sell it locally. The vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is with no warranty of any kind. Winning bidder must pay an immediate, non-refundable Paypal deposit of $500. Complete payment must be remitted within 10 days.
