So often these 993s sit and don’t get the routine exercise they demand. This example was always driven and serviced regularly, making it one of the most reliable 993s. This Porsche was built in November of 1996. The Tucson, Arizona Porsche dealer sold it new on September 30th, 1997. This owner was a fanatical and detailed PCA owner. He put together a service summary of the car going all the way back to 2001 (see pic). Also, he performed many of the regular services himself using the factory service bulletins on CDs. Highlights of recent and significant services include: 30k-mile major service performed (28k-miles) Installed clutch kit and replaced master/slave cylinder (28k-miles) Clear bra/fender stone guards applied in 2008 (38k-miles) Oil services performed at least every 2-3k miles Transmission oil service at 50k-miles Replace lower valve cover gaskets/lower spark plugs (56k-miles) All 3-fan belts replaced (56k-miles) Replaced rear spoiler accordion Bi-annual brake flush This 993 is in excellent condition and is clear that it has always been well cared-for and garaged. The paint is mostly original and looks great. The front nose and mirrors are protected with clear bra. The wheels have just been restored and look new. They are wrapped in near new Michelins. All the glass is original including the windscreen. The interior is equally as nice. The leather seats show minimal signs of use with no tears or rips. The headliner, carpet, door panels, and dash all look fresh with no blemishes. All the gauges and buttons function properly including the factory radio. The A/C blows very cold. From a driving perspective, this 993 is incredibly solid. It is clear that it has been properly serviced. The car starts easily with no hesitation and idles nicely. The throttle response is crisp with excellent power. The brakes have excellent bite with no pulling or fading. The clutch feels great and engages properly. Shifting is smooth and effortless. It drives nice and straight down the road. It’s hard to believe it’s a 20-year old Porsche, as it feels extremely tight. These cars had the perfect blend of classic Porsche performance with modest creature comforts. In particular, the 95’s have proven to be one of the most reliable. With their OBD I computer, they are highly tunable and have no issues with the legendary secondary smog issues and exhaust valve issues of the later 993 models. This is one of the first 993 Cabriolets off the production line. It was built in April of 1994 and sold new by a local Los Angeles Porsche dealer on June 1st, 1994. It was delivered with the following factory options: Becker Porsche Radio CR-1 17” Cup Wheels 8-Way Power Seats (Left and Right) Automatic Speed Control Wind Screen (standard) The first owner drove the car for 3-years/18k-miles before selling it to the current owner in 1997. This owner has only used the car for light local use. It was never a daily commuter and was always well cared for. She was fanatical about where she parked it. As a result, the miles remained low on the car. Recently, her husband passed away and she is finding that she just doesn’t use it as much as she used to. Recently, she had TLG Auto of North Hollywood (one of the most respected air-cooled Porsche specialists in the area) perform an oil service and general inspection. They found the car in great condition and not needing anything. In fact, throughout most of this 993’s life, it really hasn’t needed much beyond normal routine service, which was performed regularly, regardless of miles. This sheltered life certainly shows in the overall condition. The paint looks great with minimal signs of use. It is clear that it was never subject to the rigors of normal commuting. The paint is mostly original and verified with a paint meter. The left rear fender and part of the driver door was blended due to a scratch from the first owner. An expert who inspected the paintwork recently said that the work was high-level and only detectible with a paint meter. The passenger side rocker also had some touch up from some scratches. The original stone guards have also yellowed (see pics). The glass is all original (including the windscreen) and in great shape. There are a few small nicks on the bumpers (see pics). The soft top is original and in remarkable condition. Even the original rear window is in very good condition. The factory wheels are in great shape and are wearing near full tread Continental tires that are a bit older. The brakes have at least 75%-life remaining. The interior is equally as nice and commensurate with a low-mile 23-year old Porsche. The full leather seats show hardly any signs of wear. The soft-top headliner is in excellent condition. The carpets, door panels, and dash show no signs of wear. All the gauges work properly. The A/C has been serviced and blows ice cold. The full-power top operates flawlessly. The original stereo does not play out of the right side speakers. An Alpine alarm system was installed to bypass the Porsche ignition disable issues that annoyed most drivers of 993s. This 993 drives just as you would expect…like new. It is incredibly tight and smooth. The power feels great with excellent throttle response. The gearbox shifts smoothly and the clutch engages properly with no slipping or any other indications of wear. The brakes have excellent bite with no fading or pulling. The steering is precise and the car tracks straight. Whether you are looking for a fun weekend cruiser, entering the PCA concours world, or even something to use more regularly, this Porsche would make a great candidate. This 911 has always been garage kept and pampered its entire life and really shows. The car is riding on its original, rare Porsche 18" Staggered chrome wheels. They are all in great condition with zero curb rash of any kind and are wrapped in Brand New Toyo performance tires. The beautiful black leather interior is all original and looks like great. The German leather seats are literally like brand new with no scuffs or deep ware lines. This car was ordered with the optional and expensive Full Leather option so the dash, door panels, and all seating surfaces and covered in rich, black leather. Everything works in the car.. lights, gauges, radio, seats, windows, locks, a/c blows ice cold, etc. The power top on the car has had the rear driver motors disconnected, which is a common procedure on the 993 and 964. The power top systems were poorly engineered and are prone to failure. The top currently operates with power front latches operated by the switch, but must be manually lifted up and down, which actually is faster and more efficient than motorized operation. You still had to get out anyways to fasten down the boot! The speakers are Nokia HiFi units and sound perfect with the original Porsche CD Player. The car will also include 3 keys, 2 remotes, its service manual, tool kit, spare, jack, and original tire inflator as well as a stack of service receipts! Mechanically, this Porsche is in great condition and runs and drives great. It has very healthy and very quick. This car boasts 285bhp and flys 0-60 in 5.7 sec with a top speed of 168mph! This is the first year for the Vario-Ram technology in the 993. The car has a very strong 6-Speed transmission that shifts perfect, and this beauty will take any road you can throw at it. The car has just been serviced at an authorized Porsche service center with Mobil 1 and was given a clean bill of health. This car is very clean under the hood and really shows how its previous owner took excellent care of it. The A/C blows ice cold and the heat works as it should. Some notable highlights from the service history includes: Complete brake system overhaul at 92k including all new pads, rotors, clips, and a complete fluid exchange. Also at that time a full oil service was completed and hood and bonnet struts were replaced. All drive and accessory belts were replaced at 78k as well as oil svc. Major work to the secondary air injection system was done at 71k. The commonly malfunctioning spoiler motor was replaced at 60k as well as the recomended 60k major service. Clutch and flywheel were done at 42k when a rear mail oil seal failed and was serviced. And finally the 30k major service was also completed. Those are all on receipts from Dieters Service. On top of that the Porsche Booklet is dealer stamped for 7500, 15k, and 60k services completed at Pioneer Porsche. Up for sale is a 1998 Porsche 993 with original 57896 miles! 1998 was the last year of the legendary air cooled 993 and is the most desirable year as well. This car comes in a very unique and beautiful color combo “Forrest Green Metallic” with “Cinnamon” Leather interior and matching Cinnamon soft top. The original overall condition is outstanding and shows only minimal signs of wear and tear appropriate for its age and miles. The original paint looks still deep and lustrous without any dents, dings or heavy scratches. There is a small scratch (dent) approx. 4 inches underneath the rear bumper which I pointed out in one of my pictures. The whole interior is in outstanding original condition. The seats are absolutely original and have not been sprayed or repaired. The dash is flawless without any signs of cracks or scratching. Please take a look at all the detailed pictures and judge by yourself. The 993 is mechanically absolute sound with no known issues. It runs perfect and the tranny shifts smooth through all its gears. It has an automatic transmission with tip tronic. The car has never been in an accident and comes with a clean carfax. I have all the books for the Porsche, 2 sets of keys with an additional spare key. The car has been serviced up to date, so are the stamps in service booklet (please see pictures). Again, this is a very unique 993 from the last year available. I have never seen a prettier color combination.
