Hi, I am listing my '66 Catalina convertible for someone that wants to enjoy a old classic. The car is currently being driven as a daily driver. It needs a restoration or at lease some rust and interior work redone. The good: The car is complete, all the parts are there. The 389 engine sounds great and does not smoke. It holds good oil pressure and runs like a top. The car drives straight, is smooth, and the transmission and rear are working fine. Everything works in the car including the radio. ( it will need a new speaker). The floor pans, rockers, and trunk drop off panels are in pretty good shape with little or no rust. The bad: The interior has some tears at the seams. The top mechanism goes up and down OK but the top needs replaced as it is the original (it is good enough to pattern from for a replacement top). There are oil leaks and all seals will need to be replaced. The fuel tank has a leak when filled over 1/2 tank. There is rust in the quarters and the lower fenders. The trunk floor has some flaking rust but I believe it is repairable and doesn't have to be replaced. Someone tried to pry the trunk lid open at one time and I took a pic of the damage from the pry tool they used. It has been repainted once in its lifetime and that paint job wasn't very good. I could tell the driver door had some body filler from what I assume was a accident so I bought a nice rust free door shell from a company in California. The history of this car is that I found it in a city in central Nebraska and it had been stored in a garage for over 30 years. It needed the fuel tank cleaned, tires, brakes, a fuel pump, and carburetor rebuild. All that has been done and it has been driven daily since then. I started gathering parts for a resto/repair but I don't think I am going to have the time to do the repairs. That's why I am selling this car. The rust on the driver side along with what I thought was a previous accident made me purchase a reproduction quarter panel skin for it and I will include it with the car upon sale. I can be reached at 913-704-9801 for further information if you wish to call. This is a car you can fly in and drive home.

if you are a pontiac fan, this is a great car to bring back to a life she deserves. this 1970 pontiac catalina convertible is equipped with a 400 and an automatic transmission. its had the same owner for over 40 years and comes with a stack of work orders.the engine starts and the car moves on its own power. it will need some attention because it does crank slow. the body looks solid with the exception of some some rust issues with the floor, the front of the hood and around the door hinge.i am selling this car as a project...hence the price. it has a lot of life left and needs a new home after 40 years of being with the same owner.included with the car is a brand new convertible top in the box. the car is located in los angeles so you are welcome to check it out. due to its age, it is being sold "as is." i am able to help out with shipping at the buyer's expense. i have a lot of experience with shipping at very good rates. the car is listed for sale locally, so the ad could end at anytime. thank you for taking the time to check this out. please contact me with any questions.

1961 Pontiac Catalina Convertible- partially restored-now out of money must sell. Runs but doesn’t drive. Rare 1966 421 engine (block code WG casting # 9782611 casting date C246) - outfitted for SD with Superduty manifold (# 9779494) , Superduty cylinder heads (544127) and two four-barrel carburetors- originally being restored as a drag racer. This engine is a screamer. Still needs transmission repair or replacement, exhaust manifold, new gas tank and gas lines, new or repaired transmission, new front window regulators, brakes and new electrical wiring. Body restoration is good but not concourse level. No rust. Interior restored to the 1961 style book with maroon tuck and roll. No re-manufactured parts. All original. 1966 421 block will support a 'bolt-on' transmission newer than the 1961 which is in the car, manual 4 speed recommended, due to the power and rating of the engine. (421 was originally rated at 500 mph or more.) (The 1961 transmissions had issues freezing up from sediment in the filter.) Rag-top is new and works (manually of course). Engine converted to run on unleaded gasoline. Block was obtained 'off the line' from Pontiac at the time that Pontiac discontinued factory installation of the 421 and has never run in a car before- still being broken in. No extra parts available. Garaged and available to see in San Jose, CA, by request only. View youtube video of car at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrmo7R_W-E4
