Up for sale a 1979 MGB Roadster Convertible. Health concerns causes sale of my project, My loss your gain. I have been working on this car for about 4 years and recent health issues has prevented my finishing car. I have already done a lot of work on car but it has set idle for the past 8 months in the process the lower quarter panel got damaged and the new convertible top was damaged so instead of it getting damaged more I have decided to sell car. I have already replaced all the suspension bushings, ball joints, tie rods, rear suspension and replaced rear hydraulic shocks with upgraded gas shocks. replaced engine all motor and trans mounts. It has the 1800 engine with the 4 speed with electric overdrive. All electric does work except the windshield washer and I don't have the dash light switch. Has new fuel tank and sending unit. I have the original rims that have been powder coated silver. The car just needs to be finished, It needs carpet, tires, exhaust, door panels and kick panels. I have about 3 boxes of spare parts and a new console that came from a British Leland dealer in the UK. I also replaced the original intake and twin carbs for an intake with a weber 2 barrel carb and header. I have around $5400.00 in new parts and paint on car. It has no rust and no rust repair that I could find or any wreck damage. I do have all receipts and a good Texas title. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. A $1000.00 Deposit due upon end of auction balance due upon pick-up. I forgot to mention that the car is painted a jaguar metallic blue. I have a pint of touch up paint that goes with car.

Lets talk about MGB's. I have been working on Brit cars for 50 years, and the MGA and MGB are the best of the bunch. They are built like tanks...thick metal bodies and superior forgings and castings. They are comfortable, easy to maintain, and going up in value! They are not fast but run very strong, especially with the upgrades this this car has received. The 1st thing you do to a MG is convert to tube shocks in the back, the handling stability goes way up! The next is convert to a down draft Weber carb and headers to make the top of the engine lighter and boost performance and reliability, especially in starting the car, and being able to fine tune the fuel mixture. Then you replace the wire wheels or steel wheels with mag wheels to get rid of highway vibrations. All stamped steel wheels are out of round! The Mini Cooper wheels on this MGB make it smooth past 100 mph! next you really want an overdrive to save on fuel and engine wear, and your car runs cooler also. Buying from a good owner is imperative too. I have owned this MGB for 5 years and it was my daily driver many of those years! I replace it with a Mini Cooper Clubman for taking long trips. Work I have done in the last 5000 miles includes: oil cooler for surviving in Texas summers extra radiator 12v cooling fan w reliable thermal switch setup complete clutch rear brakes u-joints and pinion seal, change tranny and diff oil and grease front suspension v8 mgb control arm bushings for longevity and comfort, and rack boots rear tube shock conversion and new Lucas Fork oil in the front shocks carpet inside and the trunk. There is no rust in either place! convertible top door panels wood dash kit sunvisor clips and new wiper blades Sherwin Williams paint and new windshield base seals and door window wipe seals new side stainless trim magnetic fresh air vent cover to keep summer heat out Mini Cooper JCW wheels smaller MGB LE steering wheel for better grip and faster steering new taillight lenses and for reverse lights too collapsing antennae so no holes are poked in the car cover high efficiency AC condensor and charge system piston rings and rod bearings and headgasket The cylinder head was just retorqued and the oil changed in the motor and oil cooler and valves reset Factory Luggage rack This MGB ROCKS, looks and drives great, and is a spiff car ready for your enjoyment. It has always been in Dallas except for road trips to Austin and Athens. I am the 3rd owner. The previous owner was a British British car mechanic Tony Richards who passed away a few years ago. Then I purchased it from the widow and took it to the next level. Always buy a car from a good adult owner, and hopefully a car never owned by a teenager or young man who tend to butcher cars or overdrive and under service the cars. This car is an appreciating investment, and is ready to supply years of enjoyment.\ This is the only MGB I am aware of that has both AC and Overdrive. Don't miss this rare opportunity for a great hobby!!! This is a last year production car....

Purchased in 2007 used from a couple in California. Ran good then but we went through the carburetor and tuning and got it running great. We drive it on weekends around town and that's all. There is a small scratch on the driver's front fender next to the hood. There is a small tear in the driver's seat which was there when we bought the car. There is an after-market AM/FM radio installed in the car. Selling it because we are getting too old to enjoy travelling in a car that low to the ground. But the car has been a great joy to us. The high end retail on this classic car is $19600 while the average retail is $7875, per NADA.
