Two seats, a snarky 4-cylinder engine and a slick-shifting manual gear box all make it one of the biggest bangs for the buck anywhere. 1979 was the end of the line for the MGB in the US, but over the decades our appreciation for them has only grown. Cars like this clean burgundy roadster are a fantastic way to enjoy a traditional British sports car for little more than pocket change. You need one that's lived a good life like this example, which has probably never seen temperatures below about 50 degrees. What that means is ultra-straight sheetmetal, good gaps, and a shiny finish on the paint that will win admirers of all ages. For a British car, this MG is also quite well assembled, and you'll note that the doors fit well, the hood snugs down tightly, and there are no signs of botched body repairs in any of the panels. You'll also note that this one has been retrofitted with the early-style chrome bumpers, which makes a huge difference in the car's look, making it the best of old and new. The paint shines up nicely, so you'll enjoy keeping it waxed, and the diminutive size means that it won't eat an entire weekend. Everyone loves the look and this one looks like it should cost a lot more than it does. The top is not currently installed as the owner wanted more storage space behind the seats, it could easily be re-installed as all the hardware is there and included with the car. Despite that small size, the cockpit is comfortable for most adults, and delivers the true British sports car experience. The bucket seats are wrapped in textured black vinyl that helps keep you cool on warm days and wears like iron. Door panels are simple, the floors are covered in basic carpet with rubber floor mats and the vinyl-clad dash is probably a lot easier to maintain than the old wood ones. Speaking of dashboards, the MGB also includes a full set of instruments with bold, simple faces and a traditional British look. A wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel and matching shifter knob are appropriate touches, and there's a newer Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo mounted down low in the center stack. There's even a reasonably-sized trunk with a full-sized spare and jack assembly, all covered in neat black carpets. MGs were never about brute horsepower, and instead deliver a unique driving experience by virtue of a gutsy four-cylinder engine with a lot of heart. With just 1798 cc to work with, performance is still quite good given the car's light weight, and that's entirely the point. Dual carbs and an electronic ignition system give it a fantastic powerband and easy road manners without losing any of the baritone soundtrack. Combined with the light-shifting 4-speed manual gearbox, it's a delight to run it up and down through the gears, and you can explore the limits of the car's capabilities without endangering everyone else. There's a certain visceral thrill in running this MGB hard, and it rewards with great road manners and a sporting exhaust note from the fresh exhaust system. Unique alloy wheels look great and wear relatively large 185/60/14 blackwall radials. Fun and instantly recognizable, being an MGB owner puts you into some very distinguished company, all at a very affordable price. With an immaculate frame-off restoration in spectacular colors, this 1963 MGB roadster is drop-dead gorgeous. But wait, it's also an impressive runner with a long list of smart upgrades to make more than just another 4-pot British roadster. It used to be you had to go Italian to get a 2-seater that would run like this. There's a lot of hand labor invested in the bodywork, and it shows here. There's not a ripple or a wave anywhere and given the cost of the restoration, it shouldn't be a surprise that it turned out so well. White is this car's original color, but the paint on it today is a custom PPG mix that adds a bit of pearl just for effect and the clear is the same stuff used on high-end guitars, so it has an impossible shine that's easy to maintain. The chrome bumper cars are popular with MG enthusiasts due to their classic roadster looks, and against the pearl white paint, the chrome sparkles and glitters like something very, very expensive. All the details are there, from the MG badges on the nose and tail to the chrome sport mirrors and polished gas cap, and with a custom chin spoiler, it has an aggressive look that suits the early 'B just fine. The black vinyl interior has a host of upgrades that enhance the driving experience but don't change the MGB's essential personality. Only the Brits seem to have mastered the low-cost, high-style look, because most folks would sit behind the wheel and figure that this is a very expensive car. There's a brand new wood-rimmed steering wheel and walnut shifter knob, along with fresh carpets and sun visors to keep everything looking fresh. Rebuilt Smiths gauges are a British motor industry tradition, and even in 1963, they had a classic look that was one part simplicity and one part elegance. They've also cleverly integrated a whole host of auxiliary gauges into the dash, so you can keep a closer eye on the warmed-over engine up front. The original radio is gone, replaced by a Kenwood AM/FM/CD head unit that sounds a lot better and actually looks quite good settled in there below the clock and fuel gauge. A pair of subtle roll bars behind the seats are a good way to make your 'B look racy, and they fits neatly under the new black convertible top with matching black boot. There's even a decent amount of trunk capacity, despite a full-sized spare living under that MG tire cover. Rebuilt 695 miles ago and ready to rock, the diminutive 1800cc inline four performs heroically thanks to a bunch of smart upgrades. The block is topped by an aluminum cylinder head, fresh carburetion under an MG-logo air cleaner, and a flashy finned valve cover up top. Lots of shiny chrome and aluminum parts, plus some braided stainless hoses, make the engine bay look capable and efficient, not to mention ultra-clean. A custom exhaust system is a true dual setup with custom side-exit pipes that give the brawny four one heck of a voice. The 4-speed manual transmission was completely rebuilt, the rear end was re-sealed, and the entire front suspension was rebuilt, so this one is ready to party. Cool Minilite-style wheels are practically required on a car like this and carry fat 185/70/14 blackwall radials. We can't possibly cover all the work that's been done to this beautiful MGB, but with all the receipts and restoration photos included, it'll be easy to see just how nice it really is. The purest design that is most closely linked to its British sports car roots, this very nicely restored convertible has a simple, clean look and energetic performance to back it up. Although the shape didn't change much over the MGB's life, this early car looks far more upscale than many of its siblings. Surely some of it has to do with the chrome bumpers and grille, which has always been the preferred look, and some if it might have to do with the beautiful white paint. Instead of being plain and subtle, the white paint sparkles and draws your eye down the 'B's smooth flanks, reminding you that yes, the British really did perfect the art of the inexpensive sports car. We're having a hard time finding any flaws on this neat little convertible, which offers good gaps, doors that close easily, and no evidence of major body surgery. The work was carried out by a noted MG specialist, so the details are exactly right, too, including the stainless trim along its sides, the wonderfully British rear-view mirror, and the red taillights, which have a familiar shape but a look that's unique to the early cars. The beautiful black leather interior has that wonderful lived-in look that makes natural materials so much more appealing than vinyl. White piping adds an upscale look to the simple surroundings, and it's all in excellent condition with new materials throughout. A handsome steering wheel with delicate wire spokes makes this sports car easy to wheel around and the 4-speed manual gearbox (with overdrive!) is a joy to row through the gates. Crisp, clear Smiths gauges are attractive without being too busy and we love the fabric-covered speaker in the middle of the dash, which is powered by the original AM radio up above it. Sadly it's not functional, but it would be a real shame to replace it and with the top down, you won't miss it anyway. The top is easy to operate and looks great even when it's up, and there's a nicely appointed trunk with a full-sized spare for emergencies. The sturdy 1.8 liter inline-four would power MGs for decades, and it's at its very best here. The engine was rebuilt to stock specification and wears a pair of freshly rebuilt carburetors and a bright red valve cover, as original. A few upgrades make it suitable for use today, including an electric fan on the front of the radiator so it never loses its cool and all the wiring is new, so you can hold your Lucas jokes. The 4-speed manual gearbox is a delight to use and offers a usable overdrive for today's highway cruising and the supple suspension is both athletic and smooth-riding, a combination that's hard to replicate in today's heavy cars. A sweet-sounding Monza exhaust system gives the engine a raucous baritone wail and while the underside hasn't been fully restored, its' in good order with no trouble in the usual spots. And no British sports car is complete without a set of chrome wire wheels, with these wearing 175R14 blackwalls for a no-nonsense look. Complete with 25 years' worth of maintenance records and restoration receipts, this is a high-quality MGB for the enthusiast who is shopping based on things other than price alone. Heck, even Mazda copied the MGB when developing the Miata, and this 1977 MGB roadster is an awesome opportunity to own the original. With a very nice restoration a few years ago, it represents fun the traditional British way. The handsome burgundy paint adds a handsome, grown-up look to the slippery MGB shape, and with the original rubber bumpers replaced with proper chrome pieces, it gives this particular B a fantastic look. This car has received a comprehensive restoration a few years ago and still looks great, with a nice shine and the look of a car that's always been well-maintained. Gaps are awfully good all around, surprising for an MGB which was notorious for haphazard construction, and the paint is better than any factory MG you've ever seen. It's remarkable what a difference the older style grille and bumpers make, and it gives this B the look of a much more expensive car. A few other chrome pieces work well with the shiny bumpers, including the rub strips along the flanks, a bright windshield surround, and a proper MG octagon logo on the deck lid. You'll also note the familiar MGB taillights are in excellent condition and the conversion was done right, including the correct small marker lights up front. Inside, the story continues with fresh leather seat covers that were endemic to British sports cars of the era. Most of its siblings got vinyl upholstery, and again, this one looks and feels like it should cost thousands more than it does. New carpets have been fitted, along with new door panels with speakers for the upgraded AM/FM/CD radio. All the instruments are functional and somehow capture the charm of the Old World better than any modern gauges could and the leather-wrapped wheel feels great in your hands. Things like the dash pad, console, and shifter boot are replacement pieces that are in fantastic condition and there's a neat cup holder setup in the center console that modernizes the car enough to make it practical. Overhead there's a tan convertible top that you can stow from the driver's seat with just one hand for open-air driving on-demand, and it fits under a black boot for a very clean look. The trunk is beautifully finished as well, with a full set of carpets and a spare tire cover. MG's peppy and torquey 1.8 liter inline-four delivers enjoyable performance thanks to the MGB's light weight, and the 4-speed+overdrive transmission is one of the more direct units this side of the aforementioned Miata. You'll be shocked by the restoration, as there are very few MGB engine bays that have enjoyed the full disassembly and detailing that this one received. The engine features proper hardware and finishes wherever possible, and has been fitted with an aluminum head and downdraft carburetor to improve performance. Just look at how clean the firewall and inner fenders are; have you ever seen an MGB that crisp? Underneath, it's just as good with front disc brakes that do a commendable job and a snarky exhaust system that was one of the things Mazda tried to duplicate. Four recent Dunlop blackwall radials have been fitted to a set of beautiful chrome wire wheels, filling out the wheel wells perfectly. There just can't be many MGBs nicer than this. A lot of British 2-seat fun with all the work already done. Classic good looks in a car that doesn't cost a fortune to acquire or maintain, it's the ideal vintage roadster for the purist who prefers the old fashioned way of doing things. Sure, the B was archaic by 1972, but that's all part of its charm, and with delicate chrome bumpers, the early cars have an entirely different look than their rubber-snouted younger siblings. With that in mind, this 1972 model is the one you want: clean and straight with all the good stuff already on board. The Bronze Yellow paint looks quite good and is an older repaint, but if that's the case, you know this car has always been loved. For that you can thank 40 years of proper care plus an owner who actually cared about appearances, even on this very affordable roadster. The bodywork underneath is quite nice, too, with straight panels and no sign of the dreaded tin worm, for which these cars were notorious. The doors fit well, the hood opens effortlessly, and there's a purity of line that the later cars just can't match. Of course, those chrome bumpers that make this one of the more desirable Bs are in excellent shape, as is the grille, which is protected by a set of rubber-lined bumper guards that actually look quite sporting. Classic accommodations for two can be found inside the cozy MGB, but once you're behind the wheel you'll discover that there's plenty of room and the driving position is quite good. The 3-spoke steering wheel looks suitably racy and will go great with your string-backed driving gloves, and the shifter falls readily to hand under spirited driving. Wood was gone by 1972, but the classic Smiths instruments remain, giving a tantalizing glimpse into history. The black bucket seats are comfortable and supportive for spirited driving, and the engine's energetic exhaust note was reportedly copied by Mazda for the original Miata. The trunk is basic, but carries a matching wire wheel and spare tire, a set of tools, and a set of neatly fitted carpets to make it look finished. Overhead you get a folding vinyl top that's older but still quite presentable, and it stows in seconds under a matching boot that gives the B a dashing profile. The engine is the same rugged, reliable 1798 cc inline-four that propelled MGs for years, but why mess with a good thing? Thanks to a single carburetor and basic ignition system, maintenance can be performed with a screwdriver, and it has a satisfyingly fat torque curve that makes the car feel quick and agile around town. It's nicely restored under the bonnet, too, with lots of new gear, correct replacement parts, and a look of having been loved all its life. The 4-speed manual is a joy to shift, especially with pedals easily placed for heel-and-toe maneuvers, and you may find yourself dropping down a gear in tunnels just to hear its brawny exhaust note. Braking is confident and handling competent thanks to the car's size and low center of gravity. And, of course, attractive wire wheels have been fitted wearing 185/70/14 radials which are surely worlds better than the original Dunlops. There's no better way to have fun with the top down than a vintage British roadster. Classic good looks in a car that doesn't cost a fortune to acquire or maintain, it's the ideal vintage sports car for the purist who prefers the old fashioned way of doing things. The MGB was still fresh news in 1964 and while the underpinnings were truly vintage, that's all part of its charm. The early cars with their delicate chrome bumpers have an entirely different look than their rubber-snouted younger siblings that are more familiar to us here in the US. With that in mind, this 1964 model is the one you want: recently painted, fully finished, with all the good stuff already on board. The Car Finished in Mack Red with black interior, this original MGB 1976 has been totally re-done. Engine, restored to factory tolerances. New custom seats and interior.  This four speed manual transmission shifts smoothly.  All gauges on the instrument panel work, as does the in-dash radio CD-player. The wheels are in like new condition. The tires are not new, but more than half of their life is remaining.   Remember this car is a used vehicle is sold on an as-is basis. Features: Power Remote Door Locks-Power Radio Antenna, New starter, New Alternator, New Engine, New Interior, New Paint. MG hub center appliques Original body style and wheels Luggage rack original   Leather covered, padded, three spoke steering wheel with a special center hub. New rebuilt engine to factory specifications New interior New top Remote door locks (2 remotes) Security system Electronic ignition All new exhaust system   This 1976 MGB Edition is truly nice.  Most every bolt and nut has been removed and restored or replaced according to factory specifications.  Over one year of man labor invested in car. The car has been upgraded with a CD-Radio, Security System and Remote door locks installed to upgrade the car to today’s user needs.   The engine is still not broke-in as the car smokes a little due to the rings not seating, yet. The carburetor is the original and probably should be upgraded to a side draft or down draft weber.   The brakes are little soft…but work ok. Car comes with Chrome Bumpers...if wanted.   The car has been setting up for about a year. (Life always gets in the way of good intentions).   There is no spare tire and the paint probably needs to be re-shot. It looks good but there are flaws here and there. This car is not perfect and will make someone a great fun car after the new owner makes it “his” car.  Recommend that you like to work on cars. As is purchase, I will make sure everything is as I said and I will help with locating a shipper (Inter-City is very good).
