For sale 1958 Morris Garage MG MGA Wire Wheel Roadster. This is a parts car or a full restoration. The suspension is not on this car but does come with it. This car was taken apart over 40 years ago and put in dry storage. It is sold without the suspension installed, you will need help loading it. This is what the car comes with that is not pictured but will come with the car: 2 chrome taillights, MG trunk emblem, 2 rear bumper brackets, gas tube with cap, wire wheel axle, 2 leaf springs, 2 rear shocks, gas tank, 2 gas tank straps, convertible top frame, 2 side windows, 2 seats, steering wheel and shaft, gas pedal, 2 front shocks, 2 front springs, 2 front shocks, 2 spring pans and accessories, front bumper extension support, mdl 1500 grille, 2 1500 engine blocks with heads and engine parts, starter, generator, coil, transmission, 4 wire wheels, 2 front fenders that are not on the car but are pictured, 2 horns. 1959 COUPE I have a 1959 MGA wire wheel coupe with very good sheet metal (no rust) the trunk has one place that has rust and the frame is in very good condition with no rust. Has the 1500 engine and a very complete car. I do have all three pieces of the back glass in very good condition and a the front windshield in good condition. This car has been in storage for over 30 years and as you can see it is still in storage. I have not dug this car out due to all of the rain. Wire wheels and tires are in good condition.The bows for the headliner are still installed and are in good condition, chrome for drivers side door is there but not installed. ( Sorry about the pictures as this car is still in the back of the garage) This is a very complete car with very few things missing. This auction is for both cars listed here, the roadster and the coupe. I am selling several of my MGA coupes as I am losing my storage space. This was a frame off started project, the frame was blasted any any needed repairs were made and frame was painted and the frame is in very good condition. The panels on the front have surface rust and the rear panels need repairs to the lower dog legs. Both rockers will need replaced and it does come with rockers for both sides. The trunk pan is rusted but comes with a new complete trunk pan that will need to be installed. This is a complete car as I have put most of the items in the trunk of the car, I have been selling off a lot of my MGA's and this one will be a great candidate for a restoration as it has a very good frame. I do not have a pic of all of the items that goes with the car but I will put them in the trunk. I live 30 miles south of Cincinnati Ohio in Northern Ky exit 166 off I-75. Up for sale is “Jennifer”, a 1962 MGA MKII. Over the last 5 months she has undergone a sympathetic refurbishment to become the running, driving, stopping head turning car she is today. Here is a video link: https://youtu.be/8Hq2OZyIKy4 Here are some high pass details:Utilizing a scale similar to the Hagerty scale with 1 being a concourse and 4 being somewhere between a parts car and a working driver, this car is a 2- or 3+. Lacking very little to be a solid 2. Glad to discuss my opinion with you. My insurance established a value of $30K for the vehicle, though I believe that may be a little above current market conditions; Engine was rebuilt about 3,000 miles ago by the previous owner. It runs strong and pulls hard. Currently the car is fitted with a new Weber downdraft as this is my personal preference for a driver. The original SU carbs are included and are operable, though the cork seal on the back bank is leaking;Current Texas registration. Current Texas Inspection. Clear Texas Title in hand;Over the last 5 months every system has been looked at, touched, checked. We did what we thought necessary and beneficial to make this a car that can be driven to any show, enjoyed on backroads and make the owner proud. Here is a partial list of what was done: o Brakes: Master cylinder changed, rear shoes replaced, rear brake cylinders replaced, blead, cleaned, painted, emergency brake repaired o Cooling: Radiator replaced, thermostat replaced, Smith coolant gauge replaced, new fluids and “burped”; o Drivetrain: Engine evaluated, ignition wires and plugs replaced, generator pulley replaced, exterior gaskets replaced, transmission serviced, clutch disk and release bearing replace, new slave cylinder installed along with hydraulic line, propeller shaft cleaned and painted, differential serviced, o Electrical: Replaced harness, many switches, lights and fixtures so that currently every electrical device is operational; o Exterior: repainted with multiple coats of Omni base/Clear deep black. Replaced front & rear bumpers, replaced top, replaced spinners, repainted wheels with 3 coats of base & 3 coats of clear, new body pipping, new wheel spinners, new windscreen, new emblems and vents, new lift-the-dots o Interior: new carpets, new panels, new dash coverings, new rails and rail coverings, new steering wheel and hub, new thresholds, new blanking plate, reworked seats and seat frames, replaced tachometer, replace switch knobs, replace stainless screws, paint top frame, install wheel cover and trunk carpet kit, More work than this has been done, but this catches the big stuff. Look at the pictures. What does it need? That is up to you. My opinion is nothing for a fantastic driver. If you want to bump to a solid condition 2 car, I would suggest:Wet/Color sand paint to get the minor orange peel and little imperfections out. Paint is new, has not been waxed yet. Small dimple in passenger door from being shut to hard. Might push out. Overall exterior is a 7 to me;Reinstall heater unit which is included. Its Texas and I did not want to restore the unit; Obtain a correct set of side curtains, bag and drop cover;IDK what else. This is about as good as you get for under $30K. Car is located in Dish Texas which is North Dallas/Ft. Worth near Texas Motor Speedway. Please inspect or have inspected if you desire. Of course, with any car, she is being sold as is-where is. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive her across the country, though I’d rather do it in a B. Yes, I would consider a partial trade if it was right. It would have to be British as these are the old gals we have a passion for. The Glacier Blue paint looks stunning on the swooping coachwork of the MGA. The wire wheels really give the car that classic 50s roadster look. Every piece of chrome was replated or replaced at the time or restoration and looks very nice and showing some minor wear since. This A has had a complete engine rebuild and runs smoothly and beautifully. The engine starts first time every time and the engine does not blow any smoke! For those interested, the engine was rebuilt to a performance build featuring higher compression pistons. I have owned many MGAs and this is by far the strongest engine of any MGA I have owned. It pulls almost as if there was a B engine in it. It is pretty impressive. The carbs have been recently tuned and as a result the car idles great and the engine is very responsive. The engine bay is finished very nicely. You can tell this car was stripped down to the frame and rebuilt from the ground up. The engine has great oil pressure and runs nice and cool even in Arizona's hot climate. The 4 cylinder exhales through a great sounding exhaust system that gives this MG that classic British sports car sound. The transmission was completely rebuilt and shifts very nicely. The steering is nice and tight. The cars brakes stop the car incredibly well and the car stops straight and stops with ease. The interior is in very good condition featuring a wooden dash. All the lights and gages are in working condition. The suspension, brakes and transmission are also in fine condition. 1959 MGA in very nice condition. Runs and drives great. This is a good, solid, mostly original car. It was driven until about 15 years ago, then it was put in indoor heated storage. It has no rust or rot, it is really solid and straight. When we bought it, we brought it to Motorcars in Plainville, CT and had them go over it bumper to bumper. They did a load of work, including rebuilding the carburetors, all new spark plugs, dist cap, and wires, servicing the brakes and clutch, replacing the fuel filter, rewiring lights, etc. Just had a brand new top put on, and had the front bow replaced. I purchased the car in 2007 off EBAY. Since the car was in Grand Rapids, MI John Twist was contacted and paid to inspect the car before I purchased sight unseen. The seller told me he was selling for his brother and that the car had been stored in a heated basement since 1982. When I was contacted by University Motors they said the car was as described and worth the asking price of 12K and that they had records of work on the car up until 1982. I traveled to Grand Rapids and drove the car into my trailer and brought it back to Tennessee. It ran a little rough but hadn't been started since storage. My problem is that I have too many cars and have descided to sell the MGA along with my '48 MGTC and 63 Spitfire 4 ( with 10,129 actual miles). Since I have had the car, I replaced the main floorboards, had the radiator flushed, cleaned & painted, fan shroud placed, along with Clark restorations and Spares modifications for seat belts. Rebuilt set of SU carbs added along with a stainless steel exhaust system. Also purchased 5 new BF Goodrich Silvertown Radials and had the mounted to 5 new Dayton painted tubeless wire wheels. Other large tick items bought include MGA panel Kit, Leather seat kit, black carpet kit, curtain bag , tire cover ,Moto Lita wheel and hub, new gas tank and rack & pinon( the tank & pinon are uninstalled). The big ticket items came to 5498.00. Many of the smaller items are shown in the pics, too much trouble to list. A conservative estimate is around 6500-7000.00 in new parts total. Also included is spare set of MGA carbs, twin-cam dash, used rack & pinon with top frame and seats removed from the car. What does the car need to become a nice driver, front bumper needs attention, rear tail light plinths need repainting, new top, tune up. This car would also be an excellent candidate for a full restoration as it is essentially rust free with only surface rust on the frame. I have not started the car in 4 years but will make sure it runs before delivery. It has been in my basement since purchase. The car is registered with NAMGAR # 1916. The odomoter shows 9898 miles but I have no idea if that is accurate. Please feel free to come look at the MGA, I am not a dealer, have a dental practice. This A has had a complete engine rebuild and runs smoothly and beautifully. The engine starts first time every time and the engine does not blow any smoke! For those interested, the engine was rebuilt by Jim Clark at Engines Renaissance in Minnesota, knowledgeable and experienced in the British motors, the pistons were bored .040 with matching rings, street perfomance cam shaft, cylinder head redone for unleaded gas, hardened valves and seats. The carbs have been rebuilt and recently tuned. The engine bay is very nice. The engine has great oil pressure and runs nice and cool even in Arizona's hot climate. The 4 cylinder exhales through a great sounding factory exhaust system that gives this MG that classic British sports car sound. The transmission was completely rebuilt and shifts very nicely. The steering is nice and tight and the suspension does has new bushings. The cars disc brakes stop the car incredibly well and the car stops straight and stops with ease. When the car was restored the chassis was stripped down to bare metal and refinshed and new components put on the car. The car is a joy to motor around town in and gets tons of attention everywhere you go. Clutch, pressure plate and bearings have been recently replaced. Brake cylinders, all friction materials, brass sleeved master cylinder and front calipers have been replaced and updated. Additional replacement parts include two new 6 volt batteries, fuel pump, manual starter switch, heater valve, all hoses, oil cooler and lines, water pump, thermostats, fan shroud, oil cooler and more. Starter, generator and heater have been rebuilt. All new stainless steel exhaust gives this car a great sound. There are no unusual noises or vibrations when running or driving.
