Relisted due to non paying bidder,........This is a rough but restorable MGA wire wheeled roadster. It suffered an interior fire long ,long ago...(hence no seats are with the car). The rear clip was damaged in this fire and has been replaced with a solid donor clip of the same vintage,(was even same original color!). It will require all of the usual rust repairs, (rockers, lower fenders, etc), and dent repair. The car is quite complete, and I have more parts and spares not shown that will go with the car. The motor is original and present, condition unknown, (doesn't turn over). This car does not come with paper work,( ebay wont let me answer other than clear title, so disregard ), but the vin plate and number are present and it will come with a bill of sale. This wire wheel roadster is worth the effort to save.....

For sale is my 1959 MG MGA Roadster. "The First of a New Line" -- That was the marketing approach for MG as it rolled out its fresh MGA to the public in 1955. These cars were vastly different from any MG prior featuring a wider chassis, lower seating position, a more powerful "B-series" motor etc. It also features independent suspension and rack and pinion steering. The body was a much cleaner design sitting lower and wider with beautiful consistent body lines and a teethy front grill. In total, 101,081 MGA's were produced globally from 1955-1962 in roadster and coupe form with either 1500, 1600, 1600 MKII, and Twin Cam designations. For 1959, only 23,319 were produced globally. Of these, only 6,149 1500 Roadster's were imported to the U.S. which is the second lowest production year behind 1955. Truly a rare car by production number standards and even rarer to see driving down the road which is why it gets so much attention! This '59 model was a past barn find as it sat essentially untouched from, what I was told when I bought it, 1965 to 1995 when it then underwent refreshing to bring it up to road worthy condition. At the time, the interior was cleaned and the motor was gone through to make it run dependently. In 2006, it underwent a fully body off restoration. Do not mistake my words for the car being fully restored, only the body was. The car was taken down to the bare metal and done right with the fenders off. There was very minor rust on the lower rear corners which was properly fixed. The body restoration was professionally done, not a backyard type of job, and I have a book with many pictures of the work. I'd like it to be known as well that the British Racing Green is not the original color. It is originally Glacier Blue, but the BRG is iconic and looks much better than the blue. Also at this time, a new grille, new front and rear bumpers, new wire wheels, and a new banjo steering wheel were all installed. The interior appears to have a lot of originality and features the replacement banjo style steering wheel and original Jaeger and Smith gauges, as well as heat. The seats, arm rest, and door panels appear to be original as the gray would have been offered with the blue exterior but I cannot verify if it is truly original. All of the gauges work except for the fuel gauge and the odometer is showing just under 35,300 miles. I am led to believe this is the original mileage due to the length of time it was in storage (almost 30yrs!) and the fact that the odometer is still working. The engine is the original 1,489cc making 72hp with twin carbs and it starts right up every time with no smoke but has developed a very small exhaust leak from the gasket and it quiets down when the motor heats up and not annoying when driving and enjoying the car. The car possesses good acceleration, smooth shifting through all 4 gears with no whine, good braking, and a tight suspension. The convertible top will need to be replaced but I bought it this way and only drive it on nice sunny days so I never bothered with it. The car comes with the original tonneau cover, and all of the original parts such as: grille, front and rear bumpers, wire wheels and spare, and banjo steering wheel. It also comes with the original tools and a mountain of documentation and pictures. There is over $16,500 in receipts as pictured with $6,700 of this accounting for the high quality body work and paint. The pictures of the restoration are only a handful of the ones I have, there is a whole picture book full of them. Additionally, I'm throwing in all of the memorabilia I have for the car including the owner's manual and some posters. I have also recently ordered a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate. The MGA offered here possesses many opportunities as it is presently of good driver quality vehicle with a very solid frame, body structure, and confident mechanicals. The car is complete and can be driven the way it is or it is a candidate to restore to a high level. Either way, an opportunity at my asking price of $20,000. It gets tons of interest, stares, and thumbs up when I take it out as the pictures don't do it justice, it's a beautiful car. The car is sold as is with no warranties implied. I've described it to the very best of my knowledge. $500 deposit required within 24hrs with the remaining balance to be delivered within 7 days. The car can be picked up, you can arrange shipping and I'll work with your shipper, or I can deliver it within 250 miles for a negotiated fee. Only cash or wire transfer accepted and the car does not leave my possession until all funds have cleared. Clean and clear title in my name.

1957 MGA Roadster This car is being re-listed as previous buyer backed out. This is a solid, mostly complete project: custom nose added many years ago; very old paint - has great patina (has some cracks but is presentable); complete engine minus air cleaners; full compliment of gauges (not shown in pics); complete unbroken, chipped, or cracked windshield; top bows with header; equipped with disc wheels and has full set of wire wheel hubs including wire wheel-only rear axle; come with hinges for hood, decklid, and doors however, not mounted on the car; original seats included - no seat tracks This project needs repairs on inner frame rails in the cockpit, otherwise rust-free car. The engine is not running however, it turns easily by hand. Bolt it together, get it running and have fun ..... or it's a good candidate for a full out restoration. Clear title. This is a rare find !  This MGA 1600 MkII is a one-owner car in all original unrestored condition.  We even have a photocopy of the original owner's title.   From what we understand from production figures, there were only 6,286 MGA MkII roadsters built for North America; and only a mere 2,365 MGA MkII roadsters built in 1962, the very last year of MGA production.  The original color is Iris Blue, perhaps with one respray many years ago.  The odometer shows 74,742 original miles.   This MGA 1600 MkII is a perfect candidate for a thorough restoration.  The best thing about this car is that there is nothing to undo ... there's no bondo plastic filler, no poor welding repairs, no accident damage, and no surprises.  Always garage kept.  This car is a time capsule. This car still has the original 48-spoke wire wheels with vintage bias-ply tires.  It also comes with two snow tires mounted on extra wire wheels.  This MGA also still has two Lucas 6-volt batteries in the battery boxes and includes the original convertible top on frame and rebuildable side curtains.   It is a solid car, but has typical MGA rust and will require lower patch panels on three of the four fenders, some work in the door B-pillar pillar areas, and rockers panels on both sides.  The frame is very solid with surface rust.  This car has all the late model-specific MGA 1600 MkII improvements, including the recessed grille, new tail lamps, factory oil cooler, high-compression 1622cc engine, front disc brakes, and the higher 4.1:1 rear axle ratio for quicker acceleration   This car has the original high-compression 1622cc engine # 16GCU- H -3960.  From what we have learned from a relative of the original owner, the car sat for a very long time in his garage before we located it.  Presently, the car does not run, but rolls freely.  The engine was free as of last summer, but we have not been able to turn it over recently.  In summary, this particular MGA 1600 MkII Roadster is for someone with the time, skills and passion to acquire this restoration project. We welcome an inspection of the car by appointment only.  International buyers are welcome.   If you are looking for a unique MGA MkII, look no farther.  This MGA will only appreciate in value ! DEPOSIT:   We require a $500 nonrefundable deposit within 24 hours of buying the car and payment in full within 7 business days, unless other arrangements have been made with us.  TERMS OF PAYING:  We reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have fewer than 5 feedbacks as a buyer.   Please contact us if you have fewer than 5 feedbacks behind your user name.   To bid on this auction, you must be at least 18 years old and be able to make final payment with cash or certified bank check only.  Partial payments and the deposit via PayPal are acceptable.   Please DO NOT BID without the real intent to finalize this transaction. Winning bidders that do not finalize will receive negative feedback and will be reported to eBay.  THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD IN AS IS, WHERE IS,  CONDITION:   ALL SALES ARE FINAL.  THIS VEHICLE COMES WITH A CLEAR TITLE.  If you have any questions, please ask us before hitting the "buy it now".  We are more than willing to respond as quickly as possible to whatever questions or concerns you may have. DISCLAIMERS:  The car is also being offered in local classified ads and the AMGAR website.    The buyer must contact the seller within 24 hours of purchase to make a $500 nonrefundable deposit via PayPal and must complete the purchase  transaction within 7 business days.  We reserve the right to re-list or sell the vehicle in the event of a non-paying bidder.  The buyer must schedule pickup with the seller prior to making travel arrangements.   We will do everything that we possibly can at our end to assist with loading car.
