A 1957 MGA Roadster in very nice condition. Custom Paint job completed in 2011 has a lifetime guarantee and is superb. She has been garaged since. All of the lies are straight as the doors, hood, fenders, trunk and chrome were removed, reworked to original condition, primed, repainted and reassembled. New leather seats and interior carpets were installed at this time. Steel wheels were also redone. The paint is beautiful with a deep shine. The chrome is a mixture of new and very nice original/rechromed. The bumpers and luggage rack are 2-3 years old. Other chrome and rubber replacements are too numerous to list. The brakes were redone in 2015/16. The radiator was replaced in 2016. The top is functional but has a very cloudy rear window. The tonneau was bought in 2013. Windows are in good condition. Extensive maintenance records going back to 1998. Moss Motors parts history is also available. The cars runs great but there are some hiccups: Gas Gauge pinned at full even tho I installed a new sensor. I will order a new gauge for the buyer's installation. - Horn works intermittently. -Touchy hood and trunk cables. - Top rails need tightejng. The1600cc MGB engine was installed sometime in the mid-80s. The car is beautiful and a great every day driver -not a garage car. Shop manual and spare parts included. 1962 MGA 1600 MK II. What a gem of a car!! 1962 was the last year of the MGA and the only year of the MK. The differences from the MK1 included a large 1622 CC engine with an upgraded cylinder head producing 90 HP, a new grill, and larger taillights. This car just came out of a 45 year ownership! The car is extremely straight and rust free. The Old English White paint is very good for its age. The car was repainted a few years back, but still shines and looks great. The black seats with white piping are excellent. The carpet shows some wear and the tonneau is very good. The soft top needs to be replaced, but the top bows and side curtains are very good. The car has not been driven for a few years so it will need some mechanical refreshing. It runs and drives, but we would recommend a complete mechanical an safety check. The front calipers have been rebuilt and the rear drums are fresh. Note that the California license plate is for display only, it does not go with the car. The car has a clear Florida title. Look at the rocker panels and underside of this rust-free original 62 MGA! It is difficult to find unrestored, matching number, rust free cars these days. First Floor Sports Car specializes in MG restoration.The 1962 Mark II MGA was the final version of the MGA line before being discontinued in 1962 and replaced by the MGB. Obvious visual changes of the Mark II from the previous standard MGA models are the revised chrome grille with inset slats and the repositioned rear light assemblies. They interior featured extra trim on the fascia and a chrome bezel for the loudspeaker grille.The MGA 1600 Mark II was only manufactured in 1961 & 1962.Original Production Figure for the 1962 Mark II Roadster: 2944 Total Vehicles Worldwide History of the 1956-1962 MG MGA Introduced for 1956 model year, the MGA roadster replaced the aging T-Series cars. Powered by a 68 horsepower 1,489cc overhead valve engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission it featured, independent front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and a solid rear axle with leaf springs. Braking was by hydraulic drums at all corners. Sales in the first full year (1956) were 13,394 and rose to 16,467 for 1957, by which time horsepower was up to 72 horsepower and a coupe was added. In 1959, the MGA 1600 was introduced with a larger 79.5 horsepower engine and front disc brakes. The final iteration of the MGA was the 1600 Mk II, with a 90 horsepower 1,622cc engine, and minor styling changes. The higher performance MGA Twin Cam was produced from 1958 into 1960 with a 108 horsepower twin cam engine and four wheel disc brakes. The rarest of all MGAs is the “Deluxe,” which mates the Twin Cam chassis and a 1600 or Mk II engine. MGAs are ideal first collector cars. They’re affordable, simple to work on, rugged and attractive. This 61 MGA 1600 has had extensive restoration done. I purchased it 2 years ago to drive while I was restoring a 67 Morgan. The Morgan is complete and so the MGA needs to find a new home. It is a great driving and looking car. The prior owner had put new : tires, exhaust, wire wheels, master and clutch cylinder, clutch slave, all brakes and most hydraulic lines, fuel line, fuel pump, rack and pinion steering, walnut dash board, carpet, seats, olde English white paint, arm and suspension bushings, floor boards, onboard trickle battery maintainer, dash knobs, starter and choke cables, front windshield glass, wiper blades. Since I have had it I have replaced turn switch, radiator hoses, carburetor jets, needle valve and rubber components, rear axle straps. It has compression of 130,130,130,138 lbs. engine #16GA UH 28662 Chassis #97388 Paint is Matrix system professionally applied. I do have a part of a can from prior owner for touch up if needed in future. The negatives are : 2nd gear synchro is weak as is typical small dent under front bumper on valance. the valance is easily removed if you want to fix it or replace it. It is hardly noticeable unless you are looking for it. Will consider trade for Class B motor home. This is being sold used, as is, shipping by purchaser. Title will be transferred upon receipt of cleared funds.
