CHROME AND BRIGHT WORK LOOKS VERY GOOD, SOME LIGHT PITTING ON FRONT BUMPER FROM BEING ORIGINAL. LIGHTS AND WIPERS AND GAUGES ARE IN WORKING ORDER. - POWER TOP WORKS GREAT. 1953 Mercury Monterey4 Door Sedan Original flat head v8 Auto TransI purchased this car about 4-5 years ago and when I purchased it, it was sitting since 1995. It has a clear title in my name and reads 76,000 miles. It was painted about 4 years ago with base coat/clear coat. It was never buffed out, just waxed. The front bumper was re-plated 4 years ago and the back bumper was bought new old stock. The left rear door glass has a small crack on bottom of window. It smokes a little from not being used. I only drove it about 50 miles within the past 4 years and as I drive it, it smokes less. NEW brake shoes, wheel cylinder, brake lines, master cylinder, hubs turned, NEW points, condenser, rotor, cap, wires, plugs. NEW electric fuel pump, fender skirts. Three-on the tree plus overdrive. Original flat-head V8, less then 3,000 miles since overhaul. 6.70-15 bias plys like new. Gauges all work, except fuel. 12 V conversion. Runs as good as it looks. Front and rear bumpers nicer than new. Purchased from the estate of G.L. Foss of Nisswa, MN. He was a legendary local restorer-collector of automotive memorabilia and cars. The car was stored for the last ten years, and rarely if ever driven. Issues: -Carb needs to be rebuilt -A few paint bubbles -One crack in windshield, rest of glass excellent, windows roll good
