For Sale is a 1953 Mercury Monterey 9 passenger Woody Wagon. This car has been refurbished to running and driving condition over the past year with repairs to starter, brakes, and tune up. Previous owner had not driven since 1966. This car was purchased from the Ford factory in LA in 1953. It was parked in 1966 in a garage in LA and was recently pulled out and bought by me. The interior, paint, headliner, chrome, glass are all original and in amazing condition. The chrome has some surface pitting, but is all there and ready for re-chrome. Side wood molding is all complete except for 1 piece on lower rear panel. All the lights work, including the turn signals. All gauges except fuel are working. Radio works but may need to be rebuilt. This car is registered and driving all over Southern Cal now. I still have the black plates with 1966 sticker. There is no rust on any of the sheet metal. Only the front floor mat has been replaced, and even that is on the original jute floor mat underlayment. All other flooring, seat material, etc. is in good shape. The original flat head has been replaced some time ago (Early 60's?) with a 1950 era Cadillac 331 cu in with 4 bbl and 3 speed manual floor shift. Runs strong and cool. Car will cruise on freeway at 65 mph all day. Tires are new bias belt wide whites bought in 1990 and are still virtually un-used. This is a very unusual find in this condition, and never fails to draw a crowd at shows. Drive it or restore it. Either way, it is lots of fun. This is a 1963 Mercury Monterey with the electrically retractable rear Cruiser window. Mechanically this car is like new with over $10,000 spent in overhauling the engine, transmission and replacing power steering pump, alternator, fuel pump, A/C compressor and related parts, muffle & exhaust pipe and upgrading the cooling system with a larger radiator and the addition of an external thermostatically controlled electric fan. Also the front suspension has been repaired along with new brakes on all 4 wheels. Invoices are available to verify these expenditures. The total mileage on the car is slightly under 87,000. The exterior of the car is original with a few minor dents and scratches. The interior is original and should be upgraded as well. The car was purchased from the estate of the man who was doing the restoration.

I'm selling my 1951 Mercury. The vehicle has great patina. It runs well and is a daily driver. The vehicle was parked near the ocean for a number of years. I cut the front springs and re-installed the rear springs under the rear differential. It rides about 2-1/2 inches off of the ground .the electrical system definitely needs work, but other than that it's a cool cruiser. This is a totally complete car minus the stock radio. This would be a nice first timer for someone who wants to get into the old bomb scene. The entire brake system has been replaced including master cylinder, brake pads, and wheel cylinders. Stops well. The rear differential was totally rebuilt by Dan Williams Equipment in Salinas Ca. I installed a brand new 5 core radiator built by Sam James at Market Street Radiator in Salinas Ca. When I acquired this vehicle it had no trunk floor or valance panel I installed a new floor minus spare tire well

Beautiful 1963 Mercury Monterey Coupe !!! Please go to classic cars.com and see lowest price for this car is $9800 and as high as 40,000. This car is close to finished but needs some work. All new brakes, tires, hubs, master cylinder, shocks, rebuilt carb, tune up, re-cored radiator, new metal bubble tank, etc. Engine runs strong and car is impossibly straight for age. Needs some gaskets replaced to prevent leaks, breezeway motor for rear window needs replacing (window is currently up in fixed position), front electric seat motor needs work (seat currently in fixed position), driver side window is cracked. These are not hard repairs especially if you are in the business. Paint is ok but with a few repairs and paint this car would be incredible. This was a one owner (my uncle) California car !! Original sales slip and handbook, also has original black and gold plates. Too many projects need to let one go or I would finish it. Have cruised PCH many times, this car is a head turner.

Mercury : Monterey Other 1956 mercury custom built trailer barn find only one ever built look very cool

This is a very unique custom built trailer. It is made from two 1956 Murcurys. They were cut off at the rear window, backed up to each other, then welded together. I do not know much about the origination of the trailer except that it was built in Alabama. Probably decades ago. The Mercury frame is intact underneath. It does have two lengths of box tubing added. One forms the tongue and the other provides rigidity to the rear of the trailer. The axle is box tubing also with independent spindles and overload leaf springs. The hitch coupler is 2". The body is in very good shape. It has no dents and never has had any. You can inspect the inside of the quarter panels from inside of the trunk lids. They are very straight. There are about a dozen small rust spots, about half of the size of a dime, in two of the four quarter panels and both trunk lids. You can see them in the pics. The paint is Rustoleum. We applied it to protect it from the elements. It was just primer when we got it. The paint looks ok from 20 feet away. The chrome paint divider is from Pep Boys but looks great! It is just a stick on trim, but looks like it belongs there! The tires are near new radial trailer tires with "PORTAWALLS" portable wide white walls. The spare is used and has a portawall too. The rear bumper is pitted and was painted aluminum color when we got it. The tail light housings are pitted as well. The lenses are faded. All in all the trailer is very presentable, as is, but would benefit from a professional paint job, a nice bumper and tail lights. It pulls very nicely and needs nothing mechanically. I will bet that you have never seen another one like it! I think that $3500 is a fair price. We just spent a bundle on it. You could not build another one for this price!
