This Mercedes Benz 240d is in very good condition for its age, drives and steers great, original paint looks great, has rock chips and dings but from 5' away the car can look flawless(see pics).Dash is in great condition has slight crack and one other small imperfections, shows some age(see pics). This 1982 Mercedes Benz 240D drives very well and is in immaculate condition, inside and out. It is a two owner car that has been garaged its entire life and has been continuously maintained at Mercedes dealerships. The current owner has owned this beauty for 28 years and has used it mostly to commute on weekends to and from a resort community. Paint on the car is the original color which was redone several years ago and looks great and shows very well. All the doors open and close properly and they all have that pleasing Mercedes door-closing sound. The tires are nearly new Michelins with plenty of tread left on them. The brakes have been recently redone and provide for sure and safe stopping. The car drives smoothly and straight and has recently had the front end aligned and inspected. The transmission shifts smoothly with no unusual noises or vibrations. This car has always been properly and expertly maintained. The owner has always had the MB dealer change engine oil every 3000 miles and adjust the valves every 10000 miles and the engine starts easily and runs perfectly. Although the car has 250000 miles on it, this Benz has plenty of worry free miles left and, in fact, well maintained 240D cars routinely last over 500000 miles. The interior of the car has also been well maintained. The dash has no cracks, all the electrical equipment works properly and all the upholstery is in great condition. The car has a working electric sunroof. The only flaw in this immaculate car is a slight rust hole in the spare tire well in the trunk. There is no other rust on the car. This Mercedes is being sold because the current owner has purchased a new Mercedes SUV and has reluctantly decided to sell this car. I am selling a 1959 Mercedes 220s. Open to reasonable offers!The car was part of a car show in 2001 and then it was stored from 2003 until now. Mileage says 35,920, but I do not think that is the actual mileage. (I have pictures of what the car looked like in 2001 if interested please email or message me.) The car was repainted more than 20+ years ago, but the paint still shines up like it is brand-new. The outside condition is near perfect with a few places where the paint is chipped and a few places where the paint is faded.The Interior of the car is original and is in immaculate condition! The Backseat looks like it has never been used and then front seats look unused and incredible as well. The carpet in the interior is very well maintained and the wood panels look untouched. The Dashboard needs to be reassembled but I have all of the original parts needed to reassemble it (All Wood pieces, original Radio, Odometer, Speedometer, clock). Please look at the pictures to see exactly what needs to be done to finish the interior.The car does not currently run because the transmission,cooler, and a few other parts need to be put in (look at the pictures). All parts are here and original. The only thing that needs to be done is to put the pieces in. In the trunk there are about 2,000 dollars worth of extra parts that were bought in hopes of restoring the car. The previous owner bought a number of parts from Germany and had them imported to America. There are 4 hubcaps and various other parts. The headlights are also there and need to be mounted on the car.This restoration was not 100% finished, but with a little work and almost no money, this car would run and turn heads.There is absolutely no rust on the car and the floor boards are in perfect condition and 100% solid. Listed for sale is 1984 Mercedes Benz 280 SE. This is one of the iconic Mercedes models of the mid 1980's; driven by the seriously wealthy when new and is a supreme style icon to this day. These cars are and were true Mercedes Benz luxury cars built for space and grace as well as reliability. It is a stunning four-door sedan of the very best Mercedes models of all time. It is finished in metallic champagne gold with matching dark post brown molding, gold cloth and velour trim. It is a very desirable post face lift model with an upgraded and more powerful yet economical straight six engine that runs like a fine-tuned watch and retains the more reliable four-speed auto transmission. The all leather interior with exception of a two small tears (pictured) on the driver's side is in excellent condition. The front dash is black leather. The trim is wood grained on the console, doors, and front dash. The seats are upholstered like fine pieces of furniture. Each back seat has a concealed storage compartment below the back windshield. Both front and back seats have fold-down armrests. Another grand feature is the electric sunroof. It does not leak and is in excellent condition. The radio/cassette player is Grand Prix unit. We are assuming it is the original as it fits in the dash perfectly and does work great. There is a four speaker system. There are electric mirrors, electric windows, and an electric antennae. The passenger electric window does not work. We think it may be in the switch as the driver's window does work. Also we have not been able to get the antenna to raise and lower. The tires are in very good condition and were like new when we purchased the car. We have had to replace one of them recently due to a bubble. There is one spare tire housed in the trunk. The rims on this automobile are genuine Mercedes alloy wheels. Above each wheel are chrome wheel arches. In 2009, we replaced the battery. From lack of use, we have just replaced the battery again. It has a five year warranty as will be passed to the new owner. The Mercedes is also equipped with power assisted steering (PAS) and an automatic braking system (ABS). It also has power brakes. The paint job is in excellent shape. There are two places on the car where the clear coat is peeling. (pictured). The paint has not been damaged. The Air Conditioning system uses the old Freon 12. We have never used it. The blower is strong, but the new owner will need to add Freon 12 if air conditioning is desired. Since we are not the original owners, this is the history as we know it. We purchased the Mercedes from the niece (executor) of deceased neighbors in 2009. He passed and then his wife passed a short time later. We learned from the Texas Department of Vehicles that this Mercedes was titled to them in 1998. At the time of purchase, the niece could not locate the title and had no knowledge of the history or the car except that her aunt and uncle had it in their garage for many years and rarely drove it.. This is the information that was conveyed to us. The only thing she could tell us is that her parent had owned the Mercedes many years and rarely drove it. We helped her apply and obtain a lost title. We had seen the couple driving the car one time and knew it was housed it in their garage for the ten years that we had lived in the neighborhood prior to his death. Prior to 1998, we do not know the history. We, too, have rarely driven it and it has been housed in our carport. We have learned from the VIN report that it was built and assembled in Sidefilgen, Germany and delivered to the United States in December 1983. We do have a clean and clear title however in the notes section on the title, the comments read rebuilt salvage. The vin on the motor, the frame, and the window all are one in the same. We have no knowledge about the comment on the title and have not been able to learn of its history. The comment was on the title in 1998 when the prior owners purchased the car. There had to be an incident that was totally corrected. In the trunk, along with the spare, there is a first aid kit, what appears to be the original set of tools, and a service manual. This 1983 Mercedes-Benz W123 240D sedan in Dark Blue (paint code 904) with palomino interior is an unrestored survivor that is visually and mechanically near excellent. With just over 149K on the odometer the4 cylinder engine starts runs wonderfully with no smoke. To say this car is well maintained is an understatement. This car has been pampered throughout its life having always been stored in a garage and meticulously serviced. There’s really no rust whatsoever on this car except for some superficial rust in the front passenger side which can easily me attended t. A look in the engine bay proves this car has been very well maintained through its lifetime and in the last year has received a lot of new components including water pump, alternator, hoses battery and brakes. The engine is extremely tidy and the fluids are clean. While there is some patina on the head there all of the components are clean and free of corrosion. Anyone would be proud to lift the lid on this vehicle at a car show or enthusiast gathering. On the road the engine is lively and the steering is accurate. With a strong suspension and tight front end the car drives and stops exactly like it should. Inside the car feels fresh and clean. The radio is aftermarket but the AC system works wonderfully and all of the controls operate as designed. The seats are clean and nearly as new and the carpets have been protected by secondary mats making them pristine, If you are looking for a clean 240D to enjoy as a classic or show this is a perfect candidate. I am selling my '83 Mercedes 240D. I am the second owner and I bought this car from a family friend, who was also the original owner, this last October. I am selling it since I have moved into a new apartment and do not have the parking space for both of my cars anymore. The car is in excellent condition both in and out, there are no cracks in the leather or interior and the engine runs great. The sunroof is also fully functional. Windows and locks are manual, not power. The car passed NV smog no problem. It is a 4 speed manual transmission and with only 183k miles; which works out to this car being driven less than 6000 milles per year. It has been well taken care of and this car is still cherry since diesel engines are known to run well above 500k+ miles.The only fault with the car is a hole in the upholstery in the ceiling in the back seat, which was caused by my wife pulling her skis out of the back of the car at the wrong angle and thereby making the hole. It also does not have a radio installed, wiring is primed and ready for one though. I am willing to negotiate on the asking price; however, I know what this car is worth and I am in no rush to sell it, so please, do not low ball on the asking price.
