No other cars are available at this price now on eBay. It has manual transmission. It also has the original Becker radio (Not working). This similar model sold for $55,000 at the Gooding & Co auction in Amelia Island Florida.The body is in pretty good shape for the age of this car. There are areas that are bubbling and have rusted on the body and underside (See detailed pictures below description). After all these years, the chrome still shines and the engine runs.The 230 had a central armrest in the back seat. Cigarette lighter not working. Heat works but not too warm. Radio not working. Shift stick is loose. Missing a jack. BARN FIND- this remarkably preserved fintail was parked in a closed dry garage in Philadelphia for about forty years until we purchased it from the estate in 2014. It was missing its radiator and a few other parts. We put in a recored radiator, did a full brake job, maintenance, tie rods, tires, and a lot of minor repairs. It STARTS, RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE NEW. The exhaust smokes, don't know whether this will clear up or need engine repairs. The interior shows very little wear. See the original Pennsylvania state inspection sticker from its last inspection in 1974!LOOK at the pictures. There is practically no rust. Almost everything on the car is original. The (original) paint shows numerous chips, stains, and faded spots. It starts normally even in the cold, runs smoothly, the transmission shifts as new. No power steering makes it a tough steer. Brakes are excellent, with new cylinders and calipers all around. Has a crummy (period) aftermarket AM radio that does not work.1968 was the last year of the fintails. It has always been garaged, hand washed and never driven in snow or ice. No dents or chips as far as I can see. The front seats are covered with sheepskin. We always had them covered in sheepskin. The seats are in very good condition; fabric front and back. This is the third Mercedes we're selling. We are retired and down sizing the number of cars we have. They were all vintage cars.
