Enjoy this beautiful collectors car. Very original, relatively low miles, minor rust, never been out in winter. Runs fantastic on 87 octane gas, recent oil change and rear differential service. Everything works, power windows, cruise, radio, AC is cold. Clutch may need replacing but works. Car was owned by a collector who took good care of it and comes with a custom car cover. Must come pick up and haul. About the 1984 Mazda RX-7 The Mazda RX-7 is a popular sports car that had a long production run from 1978 to 2002. In that time, it won many awards and was seen as the company's flagship sports car. Before the RX-7, the RX-3 roamed the streets from 1971 to 1978. Now, the newest Mazda RX-8 has succeeded the RX-7 and improves upon its look and performance. The RX-7 is only available as a two-door sports coupe, but it offers many engine choices and a host of upscale features. The RX-7 is a powerful sports car with a 1.3-liter engine and twin-turbocharger system that produces 276 horsepower and 231 foot-pounds of torque. This larger engine was available on the upscale Spirit R Type C model, while the smaller 1.3-liter still produced a massive 252 horsepower. All three Mazda RX-7 generations were assembled in Hiroshima, Japan, and only the Japanese models offered optional rear seats. The first generation began in 1979 and lasted until 1985. In that time, it only featured a 1.1-liter, 100 horsepower engine and a 1.3-liter, 135 horsepower engine; this was very weak compared to the second generation's 1.3-liter with 202 horsepower. From 1988 to 1991, the second generation was given a complete redesign and looked similar to a Porsche 924. The ultimate redesign came in 1992 with the introduction of the third, and final, generation. The body was more streamlined and rounded and the 276 horsepower engine became an instant favorite. Inside the redesigned RX-7 Touring model was a Bose stereo system and newly-added sunroof; unfortunately, this was unavailable on standard models. The rear spoiler was modified and the steering wheel and seats were revised for added comfort. The RX-7 Type RS featured gun-metal colored wheels and included a red-themed interior. The added 5-speed manual gearbox on the SP model's engine was preferred over the less powerful Type R's 261 horsepower engine. From the beginning, the Mazda RX-7 was recognized by critics and awarded the car many times during its production. The earliest awards given to the RX-7 came in the first two years of its production. Motor Fan named it the Best Passenger Car in 1979 and the Best Japanese Passenger Car in the Last 10 Years in 1980. It was the Science and Technology Agency's 1986 Import of the Year and RJC's Car of the Year in 1991. In 1993, Motor Trend named the RX-7 the Best Import Car of the Year in the United States
