We are selling our beautiful 2004 Thunderbird Pacific Coast Roadster! This Thunderbird is number 711 of 1000 and is excellent condition with just over 45000 miles on the odometer. She has great power and performance with the newly upgraded E3 spark plugs, 8 new coil packs and K&N filter charger kit. She stops on a dime with the new low dust brake pads at all 4 corners. No issues as there are no leaks or noises and the tires have less than 5000 miles on them and the battery and fuel filter are less than 3 months old as well.Finished in Monterey Mist with a Light Ash hardtop and the preferred suede interior in matching Light ash, it is beautiful and unique just as Thunderbird should be! A rare, verified 1962 Thunderbird Sports Roadster for sale. The VIN # on this Thunderbird verifies that it is indeed one of the 1427 Sports Roadsters ever built. The owner of the car is at least the second owner. It is currently stored in Carmel Valley, California in a warehouse. The current owner has owned the car for over 20 years. It was recently prepared for a repaint, but instead is now for sale as is. It is complete will all trim and interior parts. The car starts, runs and stops. While idling, there is a knock in the engine that dissipates after accelerating. I was not able to drive the car long enough to determine the condition of the transmission. This former Southern California car was owned by my brother-in-law, from 1968-1973. Then I purchased it from him in 1973 to present. This Classic T-bird has "never" had any rust what so ever. It has been in my Garage for 43 yrs and hasn't seen any rain in all that time. I only drove it on sunny days. It is very straight, however it needs some restoration. Nice 1962 Ford Thunderbird Landau Edition 67k original documented miles, 390 "z code" V8. Thunderbirds from this era are steadily climbing in value, especially the 1961 through 1963 body styles. This is from Hagerty.com: "Ford followed up the Squarebird’s three-year stint with the restyled “Roundbird” or "Bullet Bird" from 1961 to 1963. Technical highlights included an even bigger engine as Dearborn’s FE V-8 was enlarged to 390 cubic inches in ’61. New for 1962 was the optional “Z-code” 390. The special edition vinyl "Landau Top" accented the sleek body lines even further. These second generation 61-63 'Birds are steadily climbing in value, and the ahead-of-its-time style is finally being appreciated." Mechanical: the Bird has always had regular maintenance have been performed on schedule. Recent work includes tuneup, brakes, water pump and radiator as well as belts and hoses. Included documentation goes back many years, showing the 67k as original mileage. I was told the motor has about 30k on it, it having been rebuilt by the in the late 90's. I don't have documentation for the motor rebuild but for most of everything else, including a transmission rebuild. The heater works, the AM radio is intermittent and the clock does not work. The gas gauge and horn work, as do the wipers and lights. The car has recently been gone through mechanically and runs and drives well. The swing-away steering wheel works, but the car will only start in neutral (Ebay sells a kit to repair the neutral safety switch on these cars, it's a common issue). All crank windows work easily. No leaks from anywhere, garage floor always dry when I pull her out. Cosmetic: The car was painted about two years ago, it'a nice and shiny. The body and underside are clean, the car has always been garaged. New carpet in classic "loop" style and the seats were reupholstered when the car was painted. Dash has some sun cracking but otherwise the interior is complete, including all console parts including compartment doors. The chrome and brightwork are all in good driver shape, some pitting and dulling in spots. I am including brand new NOS vinyl top as well as a headliner, all still boxed up. I will include an complete NOS trunk liner kit as well. The pix are from when I bought the car last year; all the trim is back on it now. All floors, trunk and frame are solid, never repaired. Overall she's very straight as you can see in the pix, all the door close easily as well as the trunk and hood. The Bird starts right up even after sitting and the engine has a nice rumble through the dual exhaust. Runs very strong, the 390 V8 is a pleasure on the highway. She idles evenly, temperature needle never varies, shifts smoothly, tracks straight and stops easily. A very dependable Thunderbird that's fun to take to car shows and can be used as a daily driver. I had planned on completing the cosmetic restoration but I must sell due to finances. It is all-steel construction with all components welded in and skim coated smooth – an amazing feat! The body is all hand-formed steel of a ’57 Ford Thunderbird with a variety of body modifications. Tom Culberston of Culberston’s Customs (Indianapolis) originally built Roxanne. The inspiration for this radical custom came from the show cars built by Ed “Big Daddy” Roth and George Barris in the ’50 and ’60s. Finished in a brilliant gold metallic paint, this custom roadster definitely plays off a golden motif. The large rear tailfins give the iconic cult look, helping this car look like a rocket ship! Other exterior modifications to this roadster include 1959 Lincoln headlights, 1959 Buick taillights, shaved door handles, custom grille and tail panels and a chopped windshield. There is a hairline stress crack inside the right headlight, barely noticeable but there. This astounding custom sits on four five-spoke wheels wrapped in whitewall Dimension All Season tires measuring P205/75R14. A striking feature is the fully-custom white Naugahyde vinyl seen not only on the interior but also the wheel wells, engine bay and even the hood pad! These details set apart a show car from a cruiser. This vinyl encases the seats and is also diamond-pleated. The seats show no wear or tear as is expected from a show-winning vehicle. Another custom feature is the Chrysler glass dome gauge cluster. This bubble dome appears as if it came right out of a science fiction comic book from the same era. The steering wheel is a ’60s Plymouth Aero wheel; there is also a custom shifter and – surprisingly – a retro rotary phone attached to the center of the floorboard. The trunk has been equipped with a restored 1950s Admiral TV and matching accessories, and according to previous accounts, the interior features have been finished in 14-karat gold.
