One of the most sought after classic cars ready to go as a daily driver or a cool weekender. As you can see in the pictures, those new, period correct Cragar wheels aren’t original. Many original parts including fender skirts, wheels, and hubcaps come with the car in case you every want to go back to the original look. Although you won’t need any now, parts and accessories are readily available for this popular American icon. The Thunderbird 390 Special V-8 combined with Ford's Cruise-O-Matic transmission is rock solid and dependable. With 300 horsepower under the hood, and a 3:00 to 1 gear ratio, this T-bird accelerates and cruses effortlessly. Power steering and suspension is tight. Ride and cornering have been improved through the use of upgraded anti-sway bars. No bounce or float that was normal with cars fifty years ago. Power brakes allow you to stop with confidence. Front drums were upgraded to disk and the single master cylinder was upgraded to the dual cylinder introduced on later models for safety. As stated before, your purchase price includes original brake and sway bar setup boxed up in case you want it later. One of the most dramatic aspects of the 1964 Thunderbird is the lighting of the instrument panel and its controls at night. It's truly beautiful. Controls and gauges are positioned so they're easy for both driver and front passenger to operate, and lighted for clarity during darkness. Gauges provide information on oil pressure, fuel level, engine temperature, and charging system performance. The 1964 Thunderbird introduced the linear speedometer, which changes from a white bar to an orange bar with increasing speed. The quality of the instrument panel picture, isn’t that great, because if you look closely I took it while driving down the road at about 73 mph! Windshield wipers are hydraulic and operated off the power steering system. Factory air conditioning, heater and power vents are included for comfort. Swing away steering wheel and automatic release parking brake are included for convenience. Front seatbelts have been converted to shoulder straps for safety. The automatic convertible top is in excellent condition and its operation is a sight to behold. After releasing the front latches, simply hold down the button and a myriad of things happen with the end result being the top completely hidden in the trunk. You’re left with a clean aerodynamic look with no cover to snap in place like many convertibles. The sound system has been upgraded to a “factory looking” 500 watt powerhouse. No matter what type of music you prefer, this system will belt out your tunes even with the top down at highway speeds. Two powered 8”subwoofers under the seats and two satellite speakers behind each of the original front and rear grills. USB, I-phone, 1/8” stereo inputs, and simple to operate; you’ll love it. This is a very nice bird! Drives, shifts and stops like new. In last month things completed! engine bay, under hood, under side of deck lid cleaned and repainted professionally! New front calipers, rotors turned new brake lines all new bearings and seals plus rear brakes rebuilt professionally less than 500 miles since completed. Re built 4-barrel carb.
