This is my personal vehicle I have owned for 3 years. I have had it in a climate controlled garage since I purchased it. I am the second owner. The car has never been in an accident but I painted the car myself to give it a show car look. I hand sanded the whole car with 3000 grit paper to give a mirror look. It has 4 coats of high quality clear over base coat. Everything on this car works perfect. It drives like a brand new one but at 18,000 miles it should. This is a 1988 Ford Thunderbird, Turbo Coupe. It's silver with a gray interior. It has almost 107,000 miles. The body is in really good shape with only a few cosmetic blemishes. No major dents or even dings. The pictures show the details. It's mostly to the rubber molding, which is inexpensive to replace. It has a new radiator and hoses, brake pads and rotors, and rear shocks. It does need front struts and these have already been purchased and come with the car. The service center recommended changing valve cover and transmission pan gaskets. There's no damage to the frame or anything under the car. No rust that I have been able to find. This car has been reliable since being purchased a couple of years ago. No breakdowns at all, and only minor repairs. The tires are in fair/decent condition. The A/C is cold but the fan will not blow unless it's on high. It has been driven locally, and made several three hour trips without any problems. The interior is clean and in good condition with no holes or damage to the seats, headliner, etc.. This auction is for a 1956 Ford Thunderbird replica made by Shay in the early 80s. They were authorized by Ford and sold through Ford dealerships. They were titled as 1956 models. Most of these Thunderbirds were built with V8 engines. This one has an original 4 cyl engine and a 4 speed transmission which makes it very rare. It even has air and power brakes. They were built with rack and pinion steering and they have a fiberglass bodies. I'm sure if you have read this far you know what a Shay is. They built more Model As than Thunderbirds. This car is a local trade for us. We have driven it and everything works. The air even blows cold. It starts right up with no issues. It is a blast to drive and handles great. It has 4 new white lettered radial tires. The steering is tight and the power brakes are good. The clutch is strong also. This is an affordable classic car that you can enjoy that is also a safe investment. This car HAS had a repaint. The shock on the deck lid needs replaced but all of the lights, horn, signals seem to work fine. All of the factory Shay gauges work, even the clock and the tach.
