BOUGHT JUST FOR A COOL CRUISER ON SUNNY DAYS AND CAR SHOWS… SADLY, NOT LONG AFTER IT WAS BOUGHT, THE OWNER STARTED THE CAR AND LEFT IT RUNNING IN HIS BROTHERS DRIVEWAY AS HE WENT TO SAY GOODBYE TO HIS FAMILY. BECAUSE OF A COMMON PROBLEM ACCOCIATED WITH THE LINKAGE IN THE STEERING COLUMN- THE ACCIDENTALLY SHIFTED IN REVERSE AND DAMAGED THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL. BECAUSE OF THE OWNER BEING A PERFECTIONIST- HE DECIDED TO GO TO A SHOP THAT SPECIALIZED IN THUNDERBIRDS FOR A CORRECT “BODY ON” RESTORATION. THE PAINT THAT WAS ON THE CAR WAS A SHADE DARKER THAN THE CORRECT CASPIAN BLUE, SO THE ENTIRE CAR WAS RE-PAINTED THE CORRECT COLOR. THE DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED CORRECTLY. All components work well___ there are no funny noises, no smoke out the back and the tach works. There is no bondo in the car. The transmission was rebuilt two years ago. Interior, trim, glass, grill and trunk are all very nice. The chassis, engine and frame were recently cleaned and repainted at a restoration shop and there is a CD documenting all the work.
