1946 Chevy Truck (Gulf Theme): If you spend anytime reading Chevy truck history you will soon learn that a common design theme which is repeated over and over again is that of "massiveness." This word was used to describe the front appearance of the new 1941 Chevrolet Trucks. Especially on light-duty trucks designers continually worked to get just the right look of massiveness and ruggedness in the truck's grille, front bumper and front fenders. The new Art Deco Series Chevrolet trucks introduced in 1941 featured entirely new front ends: hood, louvers, fenders, bumpers, headlights, parking lights and grilles. When combined with a 1 1/2-inch increase in wheelbase, the result was a larger, more impressive truck. The longer wheelbase was used to provide the driver with additional legroom and the seat back was reclined to a more comfortable angle. The seat cushion and back were also improved for better comfort and longer life through the use of more springs and additional cotton padding. After turning all their attention to military efforts in 1943-1944, Chevrolet resumed production of civilian trucks for the general market on August 20, 1945 and they advertised these civilian models as the nation's "Most Popular Pickup Truck." It was basically the same truck as the 1942 model but with several engineering improvements. These trucks stayed in production until about May 1, 1947 when the Advanced Design trucks entered production.   It's hard to believe that 70 years have past and you can still own a Chevy truck that looks as good as it did in 1946 but runs down the highway like its 2016 "grandchild." That is exactly what the previous owner of this beauty set out to do when he restored this final-year Art Deco Series classic truck. The body is highly original and finished in the very eye-catching Hugger Orange. The interior was re-done in a blue cloth and the bed was carpeted to match to complete the "Gulf" theme of the truck. Under the hood is a completely rebuilt 350ci V8 from a '71 Olds that is paired to a '71 Pontiac 400 Automatic transmission (3:43). The engine is nicely dressed with Edelbrock upgrades, chrome alternator, and steel-braided hoses. Additional features include; AM/FM/Cassette Stereo, Tilt Steering Column, Dynamat Interior, Dual Exhaust with chrome tips, and a Briz front bumper. Total miles on this truck are under 10,000 since it was restored and it still looks extremely fresh inside and out. This truck has everything you look for is a classic truck; great looks, quality craftsmanship, and a dependable drivetrain. Current book values place this truck between $37-44k and it is not one you want to pass up for only $29,988!    With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful classic truck now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway.
