Very Rare 1968 Wide Body “Shark” style Corvette Convertible. I have the original hard top and it has what I believe is the original factory original white soft top, which has some blemishes, but does not leak. Although the passenger side rear bolt latch on the convertible is missing, the gap is slightly visible. The entire interior and floor boards have been Dyno-matted before the carpet was installed. I believe I’m the 3rd owner of this car and I knew the first two owner's personally. The second owner always kept it in his garage. I’ve owned this Corvette for 15 years and I’ve been downsizing as my family is relocating. This Corvette had been sitting in my garage for years and until a few years ago, I insured and registered it, and began restoring it as a 'rest-mod' with intensions of dropping a LS1 in it. Never happened and it's time to make room. I shaved the bottom seat rails to lower the seats. I had also implemented the 3 compartment lids for the battery and storage with red carpet. Notice, the dynomat on the sides. I have the full matching carpet to cover and complete that portion. I wanted to combine both the 60’s with the 90’s “ZR-1” style which I think is unparalleled to anything I've ever seen. This car, by the way, as per the data plate, came from the factory 'Rally Red' (see pic of data plate). Arguably the most desired color of any year Corvette. My plans were to have the body work finished and painting it Rossa Corsa Ferrari Red. I’ll leave the rest up to the new owner. The car has a Chevy 350 cubic inch married to a what I believe is the original rebuilt 4 speed Transmission. I think its a 1972 ish Block. Has custom headers, Chrome side pipes, Mickey Thompson Valve Covers & L88 Hood. Could use a shift adjustment. Has a Hurst shifter and not the T-handle, so it's a bit tougher to put the car in reverse. All the other gears shift smoothly as they should. I started by replacing the seats (non-electric early 90's), newer door panels, new red carpet, super high CCA battery (7 year warranty..have the receipt). I’ve gone through the entire brake system including changing to power brakes, changed the pads, master, turned the rotors and flushed the brake system. I also replaced almost the entire suspension with Poly bushings, shocks, front and rear. Brand NEW Gas Tank and brand new fuel filler lid/assembly. Proper sun visors, rear view and side view mirrors. REAL Factory (non re-pro) original authentic Corvette l ZR-1 wheels w/ the proper spacers/tires and a lot of rubber left. 11" inch wheels in the rear. Needs a clamp for the rear soft top on rear right side. Rain will not penetrate the interior. Hard Top mounts flush. Wheels fill out the rear flares perfectly. Took the rear drive half shafts apart, went through it, changed the bearings, clips, etc.. I replaced the steering column with a new aluminum udidit tilt steering column. Have the Horn cover and spring , along with a lot of other parts, including original door handles, moldings, etc. in a box that I planned on installing. Buyer gets it all. Just can’t get to it. New Clear MSD Distributor, has the MSD electronic ignition as well. Car runs and drives very smoothly. Starts right up and idles nicely, since I rebuilt the 4 barrel Quadra Jet Carb, not long ago. No leaks, No issues but still needs a few things that either I will include or if you have to acquire things... won’t be much. I have a beautiful white face auto-meter gauge cluster, w/ radio delete (You can cut it out for a radio) and vents. I have not installed it but for now, I have the essential Sunpro gauges (temp, oil press, volts) that are connected and will enable you to monitor the essentials. Really, the only issue is the going through the body work (especially the bottom front fascia work) and paint. Some paint was buffed too heavily w/ a polisher hence the whiteness on some parts of the body. The right front fender is cracked because it fell off a jack stand. Because it’s fiberglass, not too bad. If you want to make it perfect and make it show quality, I think its a $45K car all day. I have all the receipts for everything mentioned plus I’m sure I left out so much. The buyer can have all the the records/receipts mentioned. This is NOT just a fixer-upper project car. Although it can use body and paint, I try to drive it to Starbucks every other Sunday with my wife. Sure it needs body and paint (like 60% of Vettes on eBay do) to make it a show quality car, but it's a turn key, reliable driving Corvette. Just needs some adjustments, things 'screwed in', and some things wired. None of what I mentioned precludes it from being a good, solid, fast driver. The tail lights and headlights works as they should. Clean and clear Title in hand. $500.00 deposit due at time of auction end. I will help you in any way possible when the shipping company of your choice at your expense arrives. I’ve been on the buyers side for cars like this so I have somewhat an understanding of the procedure. The remaining balance will be via wire transfer, Cash or Bank check within 5 days after auction's end. If you're local, come over and drive it home!
