About Restoration This car was stunningly restored by two of Northern California finest Corvette restorers; West Coast Corvette (2013) and Automotive Enterprises (2015). The $30+k restoration work is simply unparalleled. To a complete re-chrome, to refreshed and padded seats. From transmission swap to the smallest detail such as a rare functional clock. Their stunning work receipts on all restoration work and accompanying warranties would transfer to new owner upon sale. My father passed the car to me in 2010 upon his passing. Having terrible arthritis, he was unable to shift the manual Muncie transmission. I pulled out the transmission and put an automatic in so he could drive it in his last years. When he passed, as part of the 2014 restoration at West Coast Corvette, I had a Muncie 4 Speed Transmission placed back in to match the original. My father thought the 283 Chevy Block was too light and slow for his liking, so we dropped in a 1962 Chevy Camaro 327 in for more a little more umph. (Note a December Coded Chevrolet Corvette 283 could be sourced and installed with the matching frame date to make it a matching numbers car, however, this would substantially change the cars price north of $100K. Everything except the radio on the car is functional. The amplifier is non-functional and can be fixed for $1,000+/- plus time to ship out, NOS restored, and installed. All other components down to each lights, turn signals, heater, and clock function on this car. Mechanical Checks The vehicle HAD a input shaft leak in the transmission (noticed a small leak during annual maintenance). I had the transmission pulled out and the gasket replaced on 04/07/2015. The timing was off after a winter indoors. I had the timing properly set on 04/07/2015. Set Timing to 10 Deg. BTDC. Was at 18 Deg. BTDC. All spark plugs were replaced also on 04/07/2015. All photos are of actual vehicle for sale.. 1953 was the first year the Corvette was produced, it is the original "Classic Corvette". It debuted at the 1953 GM Motorama at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. It was outfitted with a 6 cylinder "Blue-Flame" engine that produced 150 hp mated to a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. All 300 Corvettes that were produced in 1953 came with the same options and they were all painted "Polo White" with a red interior. Also included on all 1953's were whitewall tires and two-spinner hub caps. They also did not have outside door handles. To get in the car you must reach inside to open the door. 301 1953 Corvettes were built in Flint, Michigan at a temporary facility in the rear of Chevrolet's customer delivery garage on Van Slyke Ave. The first production 1953 Corvette was built on June 30, 1953. Because of the short production run the 1953 model it is the rarest of all Corvettes. After the first 301 were assembled, production moved to the new St. Loius factory. It has been in Palm Springs, CA since new, and always garaged and hand waxed. Absolutely everything works as it should. No odd noises, smells, vibrations, or issues. Stunning color combination. Maintenance done (as well as preventative maintenance) always before ever needed!! All body panels are original, with no paintwork or issues ever. Fully loaded with power windows, locks, trunk, mirrors, fog lights, CD (with addtional Cheverolet changer in trunk), Sport seats, Heads Up Display, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, Twilight Sentenial, leather wrapped steering wheel, duel power seats, pretty much power everything. Tires are like new and maintenance all up to date. No check engine lights, dash warning lights illuminated, or any issues, of any kind. Original owners manuals, case, and all handouts and every maintenance record in a 3" folder. No dings or scratches in the beautiful body. Hand washed and dried weekly since new and waxed at least once per month when in use, even when driven little. She has never had a detail shop touch this car, or a machine car wash. Always hand ashed and waxed by her! Gorgeous Sebring Silver Metallic Clearcoat paint which looks wet when dry. Look at all the reflections in the beautiful paint in the pictures below. Cigarette lighter never used. Nothing leaks, drips, or seeps. It is very easy to drive and maneuver. This car gets 30+ MPG on the freeway with ease. It starts the first time, EVERY time. It idles smoothly and does not smoke. No misses or hesitations. Original seat belts are excellent. Factory interior buttons look like new. None of the original silk screening has worn off anything inside. Climate control display has no wear and all illuminations and displays work perfectly. You simply can NOT find another like this. This is a one in a million Corvette Convertible, hands down! Underside, and engine box kept clean since new as is the exterior and interior. Carpet is immaculate and original floor mats are like new. Seats look great too. No holes or unraveling anywhere an the original carpeting. Never been smoked in. Still has new car smell. Just look at the pictures, they really explain this Corvette Convertible, hands down, better than I can. A/C is ice cold, and heat hot. A/C is colder than any car I have ever driven. Only flaws at all on this car that I can find or think of is there is a few wear spots on the original convertible cloth top from putting it up and down.
