1961 Chevrolet Corvette 4 Speed Convertible Roadster with Hard & Soft Top This beautiful 1961 Corvette 4-speed Roadster has both the factory hard and soft tops. The car is painted in Tuxedo Black with Silver Coves with matching black hard top and a white soft top. (Both tops are pictured in this listing.) This Corvette looks nice and runs well. The paint on the car still shines up well to a deep gloss as you can see in the photos that were taken for this listing on eBay. The paint on the hard top is equally nice with clear windows and very clean on the inside. The chassis also looks very nice on this car. Power steering was added to the car when the transmission was rebuilt a few years ago. The carburetor was rebuilt this year and the exhaust system is recent. A beautiful C1 Black on Silver with Red Interior that has recently finished a fully documented $30+K Restoration. Located in California, this car has an intense shine and has had the original chrome, re-chromed down to the teeth in the grill. This stunning car has both a white soft-top and detachable hard top with custom corvette rolling & locking hard top stand that gently cradles the hardtop when off on those top down drives! Shifts smooth as silk a joy to drive or show. 1958's only styling cues included a louvered washboard hood treatment and twin chrome deck lid strips and the four headlamp treatment and polished chrome grille with rare original front license plate holder.The chassis is straight and without flaws. About Restoration This car was stunningly restored by two of Northern California finest Corvette restorers; West Coast Corvette (2013) and Automotive Enterprises (2015). The $30+k restoration work is simply unparalleled. To a complete re-chrome, to refreshed and padded seats. From transmission swap to the smallest detail such as a rare functional clock. Their stunning work receipts on all restoration work and accompanying warranties would transfer to new owner upon sale. My father passed the car to me in 2010 upon his passing. Having terrible arthritis, he was unable to shift the manual Muncie transmission. I pulled out the transmission and put an automatic in so he could drive it in his last years. When he passed, as part of the 2014 restoration at West Coast Corvette, I had a Muncie 4 Speed Transmission placed back in to match the original. My father thought the 283 Chevy Block was too light and slow for his liking, so we dropped in a 1962 Chevy Camaro 327 in for more a little more umph. (Note a December Coded Chevrolet Corvette 283 could be sourced and installed with the matching frame date to make it a matching numbers car, however, this would substantially change the cars price north of $100K. Everything except the radio on the car is functional. The amplifier is non-functional and can be fixed for $1,000+/- plus time to ship out, NOS restored, and installed. All other components down to each lights, turn signals, heater, and clock function on this car. Mechanical Checks The vehicle HAD a input shaft leak in the transmission (noticed a small leak during annual maintenance). I had the transmission pulled out and the gasket replaced on 04/07/2015. The timing was off after a winter indoors. I had the timing properly set on 04/07/2015. Set Timing to 10 Deg. BTDC. Was at 18 Deg. BTDC. All spark plugs were replaced also on 04/07/2015. SPARK PLUGS AC DELCO CR43TS. Temperature results: TEMP. 180 DEG AFTER IDLE AND COMPLETELY WARMED UP The engine was compression tested during the annual maintenance on 4/17/2015. Very rare to find in such excellent, garaged kept condition only driven by one female owner in he mid 60's since new. This car was a 50th birthday present from her late husband. It has been in Palm Springs, CA since new, and always garaged and hand waxed. Absolutely everything works as it should. No odd noises, smells, vibrations, or issues. Stunning color combination. Maintenance done (as well as preventative maintenance) always before ever needed!! All body panels are original, with no paintwork or issues ever. Fully loaded with power windows, locks, trunk, mirrors, fog lights, CD (with addtional Cheverolet changer in trunk), Sport seats, Heads Up Display, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, Twilight Sentenial, leather wrapped steering wheel, duel power seats, pretty much power everything. Tires are like new and maintenance all up to date. No check engine lights, dash warning lights illuminated, or any issues, of any kind. Original owners manuals, case, and all handouts and every maintenance record in a 3" folder. No dings or scratches in the beautiful body. Hand washed and dried weekly since new and waxed at least once per month when in use, even when driven little. She has never had a detail shop touch this car, or a machine car wash. It has never been out of CA! The two of them have been the only owners and drivers of this car since new and absolutely babied it! He passed away 3 years ago and she kept driving and enjoying it until her hip replacement earlier this summer. It has always been treated like a member of the family as she puts it. Registration is good until Febuary, 2016. Car needs nothing at all. In my 20 years in the Mustang business, I have rarely seen, owned, or driven a nicer, well maintained, immaculate vehicle! Most would mistake this car for a brand new one if they didn't know the body style changes. I have owned over 1000 Mustangs, Shelby's, Big Block's, Boss's, Pantera's, Saleen's, Roush's, Cobra's. Lightning's etc, mostly collector models, and rarely see a vehicle (of ANY type) that is 15 years old and still looks and drives like new. Interior even still smells new. Cigarette lighter never used. Nothing leaks, drips, or seeps. It is very easy to drive and maneuver. This car gets 30+ MPG on the freeway with ease. It starts the first time, EVERY time. It idles smoothly and does not smoke. No misses or hesitations. Original seat belts are excellent. Factory interior buttons look like new. None of the original silk screening has worn off anything inside. Climate control display has no wear and all illuminations and displays work perfectly. You simply can NOT find another like this. This is a one in a million Corvette Convertible, hands down! Underside, and engine box kept clean since new as is the exterior and interior. Carpet is immaculate and original floor mats are like new. Seats look great too. No holes or unraveling anywhere an the original carpeting. Never been smoked in. Still has new car smell. Just look at the pictures, they really explain this Corvette Convertible, hands down, better than I can. A/C is ice cold, and heat hot. A/C is colder than any car I have ever driven. Even on 110+ days here in Palm Springs, CA, after 5-6 minutes, I have to turn the A/C to a higher temperature, unlike all my other vehicles, which will not freeze you like this car! Everything on this amazing Corvette Convertible works. No squeaks or rattles. Only flaws at all on this car that I can find or think of is there is a few wear spots on the original convertible cloth top from putting it up and down. Paint and body lines are absolutely beautiful. no chips or scratches on all the original glass. It is a very classy, sporty, no worry car that will bring years of enjoyment to the buyer.
