1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 1970 Chevelle SS Convertible Vintage Autohaus & Imports is proud to offer this 1970 Chevelle SS Convertible. The car went through a rotisserie restoration completed in 2009 580 miles ago. It started out a laser straight body with no rust and was stripped completely down. There was no expense spared on this professional restoration. Lets start by saying this car is an amazing driver. The engine is a 1970 396ci/350hp dated H-26-70 and has gone through a complete rebuild. The transmission is a correct TH400 that has been rebuilt and shifts perfect that drives the 12 Bolt posi rear end. The car is equipped with factory options such as power front disc brakes, power steering, power top, F41 suspension, bucket seats with console, sport steering wheel, and SS wheels. Some added features for drivability are a gauge package and 4 core max capacity radiator. The paint was redone in Tuxedo Black in a base coat clear coat and is impeccable. All of the chrome and bright-work is new. The Parchment interior is new and very nice and clean. The dash is all new. All of the weather stripping has been replaced. The convertible top is new and works great. Basically everything is new or redone. This is a very nice car that has been professionally done to show or drive. Here is a little more information on my 1967 SS396 Convertible: Originally built in Kansas City, and frame-off restored a little over 15 years ago, this real 1967 Chevelle SS396 has been well cared for and entered in numerous car shows since it's restoration. Showing what looks to be only one older repaint in original Marina Blue, by all reports from the prior owner and prior seller, it was rarely driven. Body panels all sound solid and look free of any rust. When i had some suspension components replaced and upgraded, they looked barely used. Before the upgrades, all parts on the car appeared to be original or NOS. The TH400 automatic transmission removed was believed to be original and goes with sale. Engine bay and underside are immaculate, with dabs & markings. Even correct 1960s T-3 headlights! Engine is NOM (but was rebuilt with a period-correct 1965 block). Estimated 350HP, with roller rockers under the stock valve covers and Headman ceramic-coated headers - runs very strong. Also has MSD ignition & distributor and Griffin 'old-style' aluminum radiator - painted black. Under 300 miles since recent upgrades of over $10,000 in parts & labor. Atlas Muscle Cars is proud to offer for sale this numbers matching 1970 SS396 Chevelle, this is a body off the frame nut and bolt restoration. We took this super solid body down to bare metal and started from scratch, we then painted the body with our version of Fathom Blue base coat clear coat paint. The underside of the car we completely stripped down to bare metal and then sprayed rock gaurd-bedliner material on the bare metal for better sound deadening and more protection from road debris. The frame we completely restored from front to back with all new parts. The engine is numbers matching to the car and it is the 350 horse version of the 396 big block family. We upgraded the engine with roller cam and lifters to give the new owner better reliability over the flat tappet cam and rollers, not to mention it also increases horsepower! We do have the original numbers matching transmission for the car, however we could not save it. So we had another T400 transmission built for the car, the original transmission will come with the car though. This car is also an original factory A/C car and we restored the system back to new and converted it to R134A.
