This is a beautiful restoration of my 1996 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon, with a 327 ci restored motor and PowerGlide transmission. I am the third owner and have owned it for 10 years. The previous owner had it since 1972 and was a Chevy mechanic at the local dealer. I know the car has been consistently garaged since 1972, and never driven in the winter in all those years. Since I have owned it, not even in the rain. I did an inside and outside restoration about 8 years ago and as you can see by the pictures, the body/paint work was done to a superlative level. I’ve strived to keep this car to look just like it did when it was sold new. The paint/clear coat has about 10 layers and smooth as a mirror. The wood trim as completely re-done and professionally restored to appear more like natural wood than the original. A professional wood artist was brought in to do the woody parts. The inlay is a high quality marine level contact material. Much of the chrome has been re-done as well. The 15 inch wheels were put on the by the previous owner and are off a mid-70’s Corvette. I replaced the tires. The original wheels are not available, but I have the original 14 inch wheel covers. The brakes are all fully restored drum brakes. All suspension parts have been restored or upgraded where needed. The car sits at the precise height as called for in the Fischer Manual (which comes with the car as well as the original shop manual). The mufflers came to me quite aged and rattly, so I replaced them with a pair that gives a nice V-8 rumble to the car. It’s a dual-exhaust system. The interior was also restored, and all metal parts repainted. The original owner had special ordered the interior in Gold color, though the color code on the metal tag shows Fawn as the original color. The seat vinyl is gold, and there is one small tear on the driver's seat, but I do have an original bolt of gold vinyl if needed for repair. The rear window glass is new as the original was scratched. The carpeting was replaced with gold carpet. The floor was not rusted and was recovered with insulation. The dash pad is new as the old one was cracked. The steering wheel was also restored. The speedometer reading is precise to the car’s actual speed. The fuel gauge works but sadly the clock doesn’t. I do have a spare instrument cluster, but that clock also doesn’t work. The radio in the dash is original but doesn’t work, but there is an aftermarket stereo installed in the glovebox. The previous owner had installed speakers in the door panels (and cut holes), and I upgraded those as well as put in a removable bass speaker. All the metalwork behind the seats have been restored, including the entire tailgate as well. I put in the seat belts for 9 passengers! The headliner has a few marks but is intact. The motor is the original one, but the carburetor is an Edelbrock. I have the original Rochester. The ignition system was upgraded to an electronic one. The motor was completely rebuilt 2 years ago as well as the transmission, which is a 2-speed PowerGlide. It works perfectly. The air conditioner was upgraded to R134 and it puts out 39 degrees F. The engine compartment is also restored. The wipers are the original metal ones and work. The windshield washer does not. Here's a VIDEO of the motor: https://youtu.be/pA-soPq2cws I have a number or spare parts such as a few rear taillight lenses, some door handles and emblems, the original shop manual, the original owner's manual, 2 original advertisements. I have a lot of the parts we replaced such as the dash pad. I do not have an original air cleaner. As with most restorations, I have A LOT more money into it than I’m selling it for. This car will make an awesome car show car or a fun car to take to get ice cream on a sunny summer day! And it comes with the surfboard (if you want it)!

Details - Here is your chance (NO RESERVE auction) to own a nice example of a 1992 Chevrolet Caprice station-wagon automobile, turned into a hot rod, rat rod, patina, surf rod...whatchamacallit vehicle, with attention grabbing properties! Specifications - This 5-door, 9-passenger, Chevrolet wagon has a 305 cu. in. fuel injected V-8 engine and automatic transmission. Vehicle has all standard features offered in 1992 with options including, cruise control, power electric windows, power electric door locks, power electric dual outside review mirrors, air conditioning, and an aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio with remote. Has a unique rear passenger seat (which faces to the rear for total of nine passenger capacity), and last seat can fold down flat, for even more rear cargo space. The tailgate is hinged in such a way as to swing out or swing down. Care and Maintenance - Oil/oil filter changes performed every 3,000 miles and all other routine maintenance items performed per a schedule adhered to by previous non-smoking owner. Recent maintenance includes; new shock absorbers all four corners, new rear-end pinion seal, new thermostat, new rear tires, new AC compressor, new AC condenser, new in-tank fuel pump, new fuel filter, oil/oil filter change, transmission service with new transmission filter and K&N air filter installed in air filter box. Have invested over $1400 in maintenance and upgrades, and have receipts as proof. Mechanicals - The overdrive automatic transmission shifts smoothly, the motor is peppy with no indication of any oil burning or fluid leaks, engine at idle and through the RPM range is smooth without vibration, brakes perform, as they should without fade. The motor runs cool at idle or highway speeds, oil pressure at 40-50 psi. The vehicle clips along at highway speeds (65-75 mph) all with about 16-18 miles per gallon on regular gasoline. The electrical systems and equipment work as they should and the gauges, radio, horn, clock, vent system, heater, intermittent wipers, rear-window wiper, headlights, taillights, windshield mister, etc. are all in good working order. Interior - The blue colored interior has cloth seats front and back and the blue headliner are all very nice shape, without being ripped or torn anywhere. Recent window tint. The inside of the car is very clean and the dash, door panels, etc., are not cracked and are in very good shape. Exterior - The cosmetics are also above average, with only minor ding spots at left rear wheel well area, right rear wheel area, a minor scuffs on front and rear bumpers and a paint fade area on hood, nicks or scratches here or there...no rust anywhere! Most of these minor imperfections should be expected on a twenty-three year old vehicle! Extras - Vehicle has been 1950's-1960's "surferized", complete with 6' tri-fin surfboard and custom surfboard rack, twin dummy spotlights, dummy lake-pipes left and right side, Flo-Master type muffler with dual exhausts exits, curb feelers all four corners, over-sized 17" rear tires and smaller radial 17" tires all mounted on 17" American Racing rims. Car comes with two extra matching front tires and one extra American Racing rim. Notes - The rear windows are inoperable, front end may need pitman or idler arm (?) and wheel alignment, as the car drifts slightly to the left, air-conditioner needs to be charged and checked for possible leak. Other than these issues, I am unaware of any other mechanical faults. Miscellaneous - The buyer will be provided with the vehicle, all related parts and/or manuals, properly endorsed clear "Blue" Texas title, bill of sale and any other paperwork you may require. $500 non-refundable deposit (PayPal ok for deposit ONLY) with balance in cash or USPS (ONLY) money order at pickup. Feel free ask for an appointment to view and demo this one-of-a-kind example, either in person or via a third party. No warranty expressed, written or implied accompanies this vehicle. Mileage is estimated because electronic cluster stopped working around 100000 mi. and needs repaired. Car has a clean interior and exterior. The power windows, locks and seats along with cruise control are working. Radio works and has a cassette player. Rear door hatch still opens in two directions (down flat & sideways) but hinge is wore. Rear window opens up separately from door. Third seat faces towards rear of vehicle and folds down flat. AC and heat both work. Car is in running condition and has new tires. This was a secondary vehicle which was parked inside a garage until recently.
