One Owner!The big news for 1988 was the introduction of the Seville Touring Sedan which came equipped with GM's FE2 Touring Suspension. It featured special 15 inch alloy wheels, special springs, rear sway bar, and a special 15.6:1 steering ratio for enhanced handling, a grille mounted Cadillac emblem, special cloisonne trunk lock cover, and a unique four-place interior. 1988 Seville Touring Sedan production totaled 1,499 units. The first 1988 STS's were custom built in June 1988 by Cars and Concepts and announced at the 1988 Detroit Grand Prix. These were available to VIP's within General Motors, the Cadillac Division, some major shareholders and a short list of dignitaries. A special label was affixed to the lower corner of the driver-side front door by Cars and Concepts identifying it as one of the original STS's. 2014 Survivability rate*: 14% (210 remaining). For 1989, the first "production" STS's were sold to the public as a "Limited Edition" with an option code of YP6. Features from the initial concept 1988 model were carried over to the 1989 LE production model year with the addition of a retuned European-feel suspension package for more precise steering control and firmer feel of the road. The features of the STS over the standard Seville included hand-stitched beechwood ultrasoft leather seats, anti-lock braking, touring suspension, a 3.3:1 drive ratio; 15-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels and Goodyear Eagle GT4 blackwall tires. Additional STS features: Grille with flush-mounted wreath-and-crest, modified driver's front fender with the cornering light moved to the front facia and headlight monitors removed, matching body color front lower airdam and bodyside moldings, matte black export license pocket with bright bead, matte black front bumper impact pads and rear bumper guard vertical inserts, matching body color outside rearview mirrors with black patch, modified (from Eldorado) rear reflexes (moved to the bumper), modified export taillamps with three-color European-style lenses, STS nameplate on the decklid and an STS exclusive cloisonne deck lid lock cover. The STS interior had a 12-way power front seat, manual articulating front seat headrests, center front armrest with cassette and coin/cup storage console trimmed in ultrasoft leather, net-type map pockets, rear bucket seats with integral headrests, center rear console and rear storage compartment, leather-wrapped front and rear door trim panels, door pull straps and overhead pull straps, high-gloss elm burl real wood appliques on door trim panels and switch plates, horn pad and bar, instrument panel and front and rear consoles, Beechwood Thaxton floor carpet and a decklid liner in tara material with STS logo. Other standard STS features (these were options on the standard Seville) were: automatic door locks, illuminated driver and passenger side visor vanity mirrors, illuminated entry system, rear window defogger, theft-deterrent system and trunk mat. Only 4 exterior colors were available for the STS this year: White Diamond; Sable Black; Black Sapphire; or Carmine Red. 1,893 Seville Touring Sedans (STS) were produced for the 1989 model year. The first 1989 STS's were leftovers from the Cars & Concepts run of the 1988 production year and had the special sticker located on the lower part on the inside of the driver's door. These were produced prior to December 1988 for the 1989 production year and are very rare. The last 6 digits of these VIN numbers would be below 808000. As with the 1988 model, a special 3.25" x 2" black/silver chrome label was affixed to the lower inside area of the driver-side front door by Cars and Concepts identifying it as one of the original STS's{ref 7} As of 2014, the survivability rate* of this 1989 model is at about 3% (approximately 57 remaining) per the NHTSA and Broxterman Auto Survivability Rate Chart - BASRC).

This absolutely beautiful '04 Seville SLS is in fantastic condition and very well optioned. The car has the regular Cadillac power options like windows, locks, seats, etc but it also has On Star, Home Link built in garage door opener, dual power seats w/lumbar, 6 disc CD changer in center console, both front AND rear heated seats and rear parking sensors. It's also fairly complete with all owners books, keys, remotes, spare, jack and factory floor mats. You won't find many as clean as this non-smoker with just 37k original miles and from a rust free California climate. This Caddy is in completely original 'stock' condition meaning there has been no hacked in stereos or alarms, no 'performance' parts or raunchy exhaust systems, not even any aftermarket window tinting. It sits just as it was designed and that's the best way to buy one for reliability and longevity. The previous owner clearly loved this car, I have some service records and he even left a new set of belts in the car. The 90 full sized photos tell the story, please take the time to look at all of them including several of the spotless underside that shows the car still even has all the original tags on the suspension components as well as the original 'chalk-marks' from the assembly line. The body of the car is nice and straight with absolutely no dings, dents or scratches. The car has a nice, small pinstripe down the sides that picks up the lighter gray interior color and ties in with the factory silver coated alloy wheels as well. Glass is in excellent shape, crystal clear all the way around. All trim, lights and lenses are impeccable showing no fading, aging or anything like that. All in good working order as well, including the fog lamps. Michelin Symmetry tires are in good shape, fronts have been replaced more recently than the rears but they are of the same brand and style, you will have about 75-80% front tread remaining and approximately 50% in the rear. The factory alloy wheels are in great shape as well with no curb rash or chemical burns, center caps are all there and in just as nice of condition. The interior is very impressive. All you can smell is the aroma of rich leather, almost a 'new-car smell'. The car has never been smoked in so there are no foul, musty or tobacco odors and no burns anywhere. Dash, console, door panels, headliner, visors and carpets are all in fantastic original condition. Seats show little to no wear, very consistent with the low mileage. All wood trim is excellent with no fading or fractures. All interior components are in good working order including the dual zone climate control, heated seating, audio system, gauges and more. Mechanically the car is everything you would expect from a low mileage luxury car. It starts promptly, runs smooth and quiet, it' also very powerful. This Northstar is the latest, refined version and it really purrs. Transmission shifts as it should and the car tracks down the freeway in a straight line, it's an absolute pleasure to drive. The car does not overheat nor does it exhibit any leaks and there are no warning lights present in the information center in the dash. Here's a chance to buy a car for under $10k that would easily cost you north of $50k to go and buy new. There are others out there from harsher climates with more miles or have some damage or a tainted history that are cheaper but if you are looking for a really nice one, here it is. Just remember, the nice ones aren't cheap....and the cheap ones aren't nice. I know we all like to deal when buying cars so I will entertain REASONABLE offers from REAL buyers. This absolutely beautiful '04 Seville SLS is in fantastic condition and very well optioned. The car has the regular Cadillac power options like windows, locks, seats, etc but it also has On Star, Home Link built in garage door opener, dual power seats w/lumbar, 6 disc CD changer in center console, both front AND rear heated seats and rear parking sensors. It's also fairly complete with all owners books, keys, remotes, spare, jack and factory floor mats. You won't find many as clean as this non-smoker with just 37k original miles and from a rust free California climate. This Caddy is in completely original 'stock' condition meaning there has been no hacked in stereos or alarms, no 'performance' parts or raunchy exhaust systems, not even any aftermarket window tinting. It sits just as it was designed and that's the best way to buy one for reliability and longevity. The previous owner clearly loved this car, I have some service records and he even left a new set of belts in the car. The 90 full sized photos tell the story, please take the time to look at all of them including several of the spotless underside that shows the car still even has all the original tags on the suspension components as well as the original 'chalk-marks' from the assembly line. The body of the car is nice and straight with absolutely no dings, dents or scratches. The car has a nice, small pinstripe down the sides that picks up the lighter gray interior color and ties in with the factory silver coated alloy wheels as well. Glass is in excellent shape, crystal clear all the way around. All trim, lights and lenses are impeccable showing no fading, aging or anything like that. All in good working order as well, including the fog lamps. Michelin Symmetry tires are in good shape, fronts have been replaced more recently than the rears but they are of the same brand and style, you will have about 75-80% front tread remaining and approximately 50% in the rear. The factory alloy wheels are in great shape as well with no curb rash or chemical burns, center caps are all there and in just as nice of condition. The interior is very impressive. All you can smell is the aroma of rich leather, almost a 'new-car smell'. The car has never been smoked in so there are no foul, musty or tobacco odors and no burns anywhere. Dash, console, door panels, headliner, visors and carpets are all in fantastic original condition. Seats show little to no wear, very consistent with the low mileage. All wood trim is excellent with no fading or fractures. All interior components are in good working order including the dual zone climate control, heated seating, audio system, gauges and more. Mechanically the car is everything you would expect from a low mileage luxury car. It starts promptly, runs smooth and quiet, it' also very powerful. This Northstar is the latest, refined version and it really purrs. Transmission shifts as it should and the car tracks down the freeway in a straight line, it's an absolute pleasure to drive. The car does not overheat nor does it exhibit any leaks and there are no warning lights present in the information center in the dash. Here's a chance to buy a car for under $10k that would easily cost you north of $50k to go and buy new. There are others out there from harsher climates with more miles or have some damage or a tainted history that are cheaper but if you are looking for a really nice one, here it is. William L. "Bill" Mitchell was an automobile designer who was recruited by Harley Earl to join the Art and Colour Section of General Motors in 1935. Mitchell is responsible for creating or influencing the design of over 72.5 million automobiles produced by GM, including such landmark vehicles as the 1949 Cadillac with its P38 influenced fins, the 1955-57 Chevrolet Bel Air, the 1961-76 Corvette Stingray, and his swan song, the 1980-1985 Cadillac Seville. Since it was the last design of consequence that General Motors design chief Bill Mitchell oversaw, Wayne Kady’s 1980 Cadillac Seville is thought by some to be the ultimate expression of Mitchell’s design philosophy. No doubt Mitchell was a fan of what he called the “London look”, and the ’80 Seville had that in spades: a classic vertical grille, a bustle shaped rear end, a raked C pillar and a long hood. When accused of borrowing the bustle-back from a contemporary Lincoln, Mitchell reportedly got indignant and said that he stole it from Rolls-Royce, not the cross-town competition in Dearborn. The second generation Seville made its debut in the fall of 1979 to great fanfare and controversy. Although there were decent production numbers for this body’s 6 year run, very few were saved by collectors, mainly because of the popularity of the midsized coupes of this era. This is proving to have been a big oversight. On any given day you can find a nice low mile Eldorado of this generation, but a pristine low mile Seville is very scarce. And Cadillac collectors have noticed, with the demand for a nice second generation Seville more than doubling the price over the last five years. This gorgeous low mile, all original Seville was purchased recently by my 87 year old father, who has always driven Cadillacs and lamented the sale of his series 2 Seville in the 1990s. Unfortunately though, after recent triple bypass surgery, and while he is in great overall health, he (we) decided his driving days are setting. After scouring Hemmings, eBay, and Craigslist, he found this car local. It was the pride and joy of a local personage who had two cars, this Seville and a Lincoln Towncar; the Seville was her go to Sunday church car. Dad acquired the car from her estate; he dealt with her nephew who as a professional mechanic, had always taken care of her cars. This Seville has always been garaged, has always had a battery tender attached, has always been started regularly, and has always been serviced regularly. One interesting detail, look for the image of the door jamb service sticker that shows a 1991 oil change at 21xxx miles. Freshly Serviced: After purchase, we took the car to my mechanic and had him do a comprehensive service. Here is a list of what we had him do: · Replaced the master-brake cylinder. · Brakes themselves were in tip-top shape but we did a complete brake fluid flush after replacing the master brake cylinder. · New front shocks. · New exhaust system from the exhaust pipe back, including a new muffler and resonator. · New OEM power antenna motor. · New plugs and a general tune-up. · New tires. The tires on the car were like new but they were installed in 2009 and had developed a flat spot on one tire. · Oil and filter change. · Coolant was like new so we didn’t drain or flush. · Belts and hoses were like new so we left them alone. · Battery is good. Wiper blades are good. Every light works. All instruments work. Mileage computer works. Everything works. Remarkable. Mechanically, this car is ready to drive across the country. The AC works great, the climate control system works as new, the cruise control works as new, the optional radio/cassette player sounds great, not a rattle or hum. However I noticed that when using the cassette, one channel will go in and out. It might be that the head needs to be cleaned with a Q-Tip and alcohol. Or it could have been the included cassette of Patsy Cline; I don’t have another cassette to test. Visually the car is like new. It is in spectacular condition. Not a door ding, scratch, the panels are laser straight; there has never been any body damage and there is zero rust or corrosion. All the light lenses are clear without fade. It is in as close to mint condition as you will ever find. I have seen newer cars with the same mileage that could not hold up to comparison; the car is in remarkable condition. Even the cigarette lighters have never been used. The car’s interior smells like a new car, the leather is spotless and supple. All the glass, rubber grommets, and seals are like the day they left the factory. No scratches to the all original glass, all the rubber bits are in fantastic shape. The last thing to mention would be how visually, the car is a really beautiful color. The same can be said about the leather, which comes very close to matching the exterior hue. I spent a lot of time looking up the paint codes and the paint code WA-8240 was called WOODLAND HAZE METALLIC. The interior color I believe was called MEDIUM COGNAC. I decoded the RPO codes online from the Cadillac forum and the interior code corresponds to four different options. As two were for an Opel, which is GM in Europe, and one was for a Holden, GM built in Australia; I deduced the MEDIUM COGNAC would be the correct color name for the US. Please see the entire list of the included GM RPO codes and notes that are at the end of this listing. You will see that there are some codes that show as “No Match”, I did my best to find out what those codes corresponded to but in searching the Cadillac forum, found other owners having the same issue so assume that without further investigation, we will have to accept that we tried. A long listing, yes. I tried to highlight each area of interest, so for those who aren’t as obsessive, wouldn’t have to wade thru the minutia. For those that enjoy the details, well here you go! It is a really nice car that is worth spending the time on. Price: Well I know we spent the dollars to acquire the best but Dad is open to reasonable offers. The big news for 1988 was the introduction of the Seville Touring Sedan which came equipped with GM's FE2 Touring Suspension. It featured special 15 inch alloy wheels, special springs, rear sway bar, and a special 15.6:1 steering ratio for enhanced handling, a grille mounted Cadillac emblem, special cloisonne trunk lock cover, and a unique four-place interior. 1988 Seville Touring Sedan production totaled 1,499 units. The first 1988 STS's were custom built in June 1988 by Cars and Concepts and announced at the 1988 Detroit Grand Prix. These were available to VIP's within General Motors, the Cadillac Division, some major shareholders and a short list of dignitaries. A special label was affixed to the lower corner of the driver-side front door by Cars and Concepts identifying it as one of the original STS's. 2014 Survivability rate*: 14% (210 remaining). For 1989, the first "production" STS's were sold to the public as a "Limited Edition" with an option code of YP6. Features from the initial concept 1988 model were carried over to the 1989 LE production model year with the addition of a retuned European-feel suspension package for more precise steering control and firmer feel of the road. The features of the STS over the standard Seville included hand-stitched beechwood ultrasoft leather seats, anti-lock braking, touring suspension, a 3.3:1 drive ratio; 15-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels and Goodyear Eagle GT4 blackwall tires. Additional STS features: Grille with flush-mounted wreath-and-crest, modified driver's front fender with the cornering light moved to the front facia and headlight monitors removed, matching body color front lower airdam and bodyside moldings, matte black export license pocket with bright bead, matte black front bumper impact pads and rear bumper guard vertical inserts, matching body color outside rearview mirrors with black patch, modified (from Eldorado) rear reflexes (moved to the bumper), modified export taillamps with three-color European-style lenses, STS nameplate on the decklid and an STS exclusive cloisonne deck lid lock cover. The STS interior had a 12-way power front seat, manual articulating front seat headrests, center front armrest with cassette and coin/cup storage console trimmed in ultrasoft leather, net-type map pockets, rear bucket seats with integral headrests, center rear console and rear storage compartment, leather-wrapped front and rear door trim panels, door pull straps and overhead pull straps, high-gloss elm burl real wood appliques on door trim panels and switch plates, horn pad and bar, instrument panel and front and rear consoles, Beechwood Thaxton floor carpet and a decklid liner in tara material with STS logo. Other standard STS features (these were options on the standard Seville) were: automatic door locks, illuminated driver and passenger side visor vanity mirrors, illuminated entry system, rear window defogger, theft-deterrent system and trunk mat. Only 4 exterior colors were available for the STS this year: White Diamond; Sable Black; Black Sapphire; or Carmine Red. 1,893 Seville Touring Sedans (STS) were produced for the 1989 model year. The first 1989 STS's were leftovers from the Cars & Concepts run of the 1988 production year and had the special sticker located on the lower part on the inside of the driver's door. These were produced prior to December 1988 for the 1989 production year and are very rare. The last 6 digits of these VIN numbers would be below 808000. As with the 1988 model, a special 3.25" x 2" black/silver chrome label was affixed to the lower inside area of the driver-side front door by Cars and Concepts identifying it as one of the original STS's{ref 7} As of 2014, the survivability rate* of this 1989 model is at about 3% (approximately 57 remaining) per the NHTSA and Broxterman Auto Survivability Rate Chart - BASRC).
