Overview of the Car Well this is one that I bet you didn’t think you would find here on eBay! If you feel this way, then you are like I was when seeing this car for the first time. It is breathtaking! Very nicely preserved and nearly all original example of Cadillac’s finest in 1981! This example was primarily owned and garaged in Virginia since new, up until 2010 and owned by car collectors since then, including me. Based upon a critical view of the car, it’s evident the miles are truly 55,300 because the interior is nearly new and all mint. There is not even the slightest of wear on the driver’s carpeted factory Cadillac floor mat, as it was always covered by another mat during use. The steering wheel leather is perfect, the dash and all trim and gauges are as new, and the seating and headliner are amazing and also “as new”. Mechanically, it seems to have been well maintained throughout its life. It was also garaged, and it shows. The paint is mostly original, except for the Bordeaux Red, which was repainted by the former collector owner to a high quality lustrous finish which is factory correct. There isn’t anything to complain about with this car, as the V-8 engine starts quickly, runs smoothly, and drives as a Cadillac should, without hesitation or any other issues. It runs on all 8 cylinders all of the time and all service is up to date. All services have been performed by Cadillac, and the car has had brake, steering, oil, and transmission fluids exchanged and all other systems checked out thoroughly. It has new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. In addition, the entire fuel injection system has been updated, including new injectors, fuel pump, fuel filters, and fuel sending unit along with a full tune up, and full brake service, front and rear, including master cylinder, brake booster, rotors and pads. Front Shocks have been replaced, along with power steering pump and idler arm, upper ball joints, CV Boots, and front axles. Next, the Air Conditioning System serviced including a new control board which currently blows ice cold, and/or heat is hot. Transmission and Motor Mounts have been replaced, and exhaust system from the catalytic converter back is relatively new. Alternator, belts, hoses, and battery are also recently replaced. Trunk and Hood shocks have also been replaced. Next, based upon the extensive service, I am happy to report the car drives AWESOME. It starts quickly every time, and best of all, it doesn’t leak, rattle, stumble, stutter, or otherwise, make any other weird noises! It was updated in many areas due the age of the car to ensure many more years of reliable service. Performance of the Car We’ve already described the running and driving of the car, which is to specifications and very solid, quiet, with no noises, rattles, hesitations, or other issues. The 8 Cylinder Engine pulls the car around very well. We run 89 octane that is Ethanol free in the car with additives to the fuel for optimal performance. With regards to the electrical accessories, all of these perform flawlessly and work as new, except for the power antenna. The antenna can be lowered or raised manually. A new replacement unit will be included with the sale, but not installed on the car. The stereo radio and cassette works great and all speakers are alive with sound. All of the lighting works, inside and out, along with the factory illuminated entry system and fiber optic lamp monitors. Power windows, locks, steering, brakes, mirrors, seats, and all other aspects are perfect and work as new! During my time with the car, I have primarily only used it at local Cadillac car shows. It was most recently part of a local Cadillac club meeting in Burlington, North Carolina, and received rave reviews there from a very discriminating audience! We drove it round trip approximately 250 miles with absolutely no issues! History of the Seville – 2nd Generation This model was made by Cadillac between 1980-1985, so the basic architecture is solid and well proven. It was equipped with the 6.0 L engine mated with variable displacement fuel injection due to the strict requirements of the CAFE (US REGULATION) for fuel economy back in the 1980’s that required better gas mileage on these land yachts. The former owner had the V-8-6-4 feature disconnected in 1983 and has run strictly on 8 cylinders all of the time ever since. The car will seat 4-5 passengers very comfortably! · Overall Length: 204.8” · Shipping Weight: 4,167 lbs. It is really a floating living room. It garners attention from every direction when it is on the road. When not in use, it is garaged, day and night. As with any 34 year old car, you have at least a few things on the list worth mentioning that could use attention at some point: Power antenna doesn’t work but can be lowered and raised manually. A new one is included with the sale that is the GM factory approved replacement part.The fiberglass filler on the driver’s side rear is cracked as shown in the photos, but this may be easily replaced/repaired.Some chips in the paint from 34 years of use are evident, but very minor. They are visible in the many photos taken.Apart from these, there isn’t anything stopping anyone from simply enjoying the car, “as is”, as I have. There hasn’t been any body damage on the car, meaning no accidents or fender benders. It appears solid and very clean, polished, and presentable.
