Recently inspected in Manitoba, Canada and got the following work done - front and rear rotors and pads, new control arms with bushings, new hatch hydraulic lift and new front strut. It was manufactured in South Carolina just like all the other z3s. I bought it from Japan because its hard to find such a clean car in North America that also has low km. You won't be disappointed with it. No rust and very good condition. Only issue is that sometimes the abs and traction control light comes on. It's on and off. South Carolina -> Japan -> Canada -> ?? The car is located in Manitoba, Canada, about 40 mins away from the North Dakota Border. US buyers are responsible for importing the car. It's the ultimate sports coupe! Well maintained and in very nice condition especially for 148K miles. Radiator, water pump, timing belt and idler pulley replaced in the last year. Tires have 60%+ tread. Cosmetically you could paint the wheels and perhaps the front grill area (look closely at the front picture). Windshield is due for replacement soon because of pitting--typical old windshield issue. The car spent the better part of its life (2001-2014) between California and Seatle. The easy west coast weather shows through on this car from top to bottom. It was owned and serviced by actress Amanda Bearse before it made its enclosed journey to Ohio, and ultimately to us in Chicago. It is an absolute stunner and in its original Black Saphire Metallic paint. This is the best color combination we have seen from this year and truly believe the pictures do not do the paint quality proper justice. Outward, the body is straight and super clean. No rust is present anywhere. The bumpers, especially the front, show in near perfect condition. The body lines are tight and consistent. We note a mark on the carfax report that states a minor accident in 2012. The previous owner had documentation of a grocery cart mishap, which we are working to collect for our records. The fender had a dent that was repaired and painted and the color match looks outstanding and cannot be located without using our digital paint gauge. The optioned 17” alloy wheels look fantastic and are wrapped in new Sumitomo tires with 85% tread life left on them. All moving panels close perfectly and are free from sagging. This car really shows in outstanding condition and we are confident that you will agree. Inward the car is just as nice. This is a TRUE NON-SMOKER and the leathers and trims show in fantastic condition. The dash shows outstanding and all gauges are in excellent working condition. Dual power seats function perfectly as does the sunroof, windows, locks, etc... The car was very nicely optioned as you can see above. The saddle interior really grabs your attention and looks eloquent and sporty at the same time. In the rear we note that all the tools and service items are present in their proper locations. The carpets are clean and the mats are still in great shape. This was clearly a garage queen. Under the hood sits the popular and powerful 3.0l V6 backed by the optional 5 speed Sterptronic Auto Trans. This car was clearly well serviced and properly maintained. We do not detect any leaks under the hood and all fluids look to be in great condition and at their proper levels. The engine starts up smoothly and idles perfectly. No codes or service lights were found on the computer when we scanned it so we are confident that this car is ready to go. The car drives, shifts, accelerates, turns just as nicely as you would hope. Braking is quiet and straight and we do not detect any concerning road noises. This really is as nice as it sounds and we love that we know it was not beat on the way that most of these coupes were. This is my own M Coupe, purchased new on 5/14/99. To be blunt, I am selling this car because I no longer want or need the power and performance it offers. Instead, I need a car with automatic transmission and a little higher profile in traffic. I am the only owner and seldom let anyone else drive it. No one has ever smoked in this car. Maintenance is up to date, with documentation for a potential buyer to see if desired. It's been kept in a garage since purchase. The current tires are only 3 years old and in great condition. They are 'Michelin Pilot Super Sport' tires with a 30,000 mile/ 6yr limited warranty. Added December 18, 2012: A new battery was installed in July of 2014. There are custom made sheep skin covers over the black leather seats. These were put on due to some allergies I was having at the time, but can be removed by a new buyer (the original leather seats are still underneath and undamaged by the addition of the sheepskin covers. However, keep in mind the sheep skin, once removed cannot be put back on due to the custom fit. I prefer the straight leather, but the sheep skin is nice to sit down on during the hot summers here in FL. This car has never been in an accident. In 2005 there was one fender bender where a garbage truck, backing down the street adjacent to my driveway, came down the street on the wrong side and clipped my right front fender/bumper. My Insurance covered the repairs (the city did nothing), and you can't see any residual sign of the damage.In 2005 I stopped working and stopped putting much mileage on the car. As far as wear and tear goes, I have managed to chip a few areas of the exterior paint now and then, and I currently see some scratches that I wasn't aware of. Nothing major considering the car is almost 16 years old. The nice thing about the original M coupe is a buyer could continue with low mileage and conscientious upkeep and this car will continue to appreciate in value.The original owners manual is included. The title is clear.
