This is a completely unrestored and unmolested example of a very popular and frequently used iconic BMW model. This 2002 has its original paint, interior, and engine. All is in the same condition as it was when it left the showroom 40 years ago. It is a highly desirable early example as it has chrome bumpers and round taillights. It is an incredible find as most were such reliable commuters that most surviving examples are often found to be run into the ground. To find one in this shape is an extraordinary occurrence and a great addition to the preservation class.

For sale is my 1972 BMW 2002 Tii project car, If you are looking at this ad then you probably know about these cars and that the Tii is the most sought after models..especially if it"s a "Roundie". which this is. I recently restored another Inka Orange 1972 2002 (non Tii) and it sold for $16,000 very quickly. (see the photo) this car should be around the $25-$30,000 when finished. it comes with most all of the original parts, bolts and interior. I know the rear bumper and radiator are not there. the car has a very nice paint job in its original Colorado Orange that cost almost $5k. I estimate it will take another $8k to do it right. Selling a running and driving 1973 BMW 2002. This car was donated to a charity by the original owner, a little old lady in the California mountains late last year. I bought it off the guy who won it at auction, I then shipped it here to Florida. This is a very honest, straight and original car. The hood looks to have been replaced as has the driver door. The passenger door should be replaced as well considering the rust under the glass. The rockers have some rust. The floor pans are beautiful, there is a small rust hole under the pedal box assembly in the pan that has gone to the frame rail as well (very common) other than that the car underneath is solid, and is very straight. The rear shock towers are very solid. The car has the original solex carb and fires right up off the key although the battery is dead and needs replaced. The car leaks fuel in the engine bay, not sure if the old cloth lines or the carburetor. Ive only driven it off the trailer a few blocks up to my driveway but it brakes and shifts very well, and drives straight as an arrow. The radio works, i am unsure of the AC. The interior is complete and presents very nicely for being original. Good bumpers (front could use a rechrome), glass, and trim is all complete. Perfect candidate for a project. Up for sale is my 1971 BMW 2002 in Agave green. This classic round tail sedan is an excellent restoration base. A California car since new, it is free of structural rust. There is notable rot on the trunk lid along the rear molding, some small holes in the spare wheel well, and some holes in the front valence. Some bubbling has developed behind the rear wheel openings, and a spot under the front windshield. I started to take down the bubble spots, and the rust has not penetrated or compromised the sheet metal yet. The rockers, shock towers and underside are exceptionally clean and dry. The right rear corner suffered a tap at some point, and has been hammered out but will need finishing work before paint. It has the desirable street performance modifications, including the 320is 5 spd, LSD and Recaros that are getting harder to find as 320is values climb. I have recently performed a service on the engine (oil & filter, valve adjustment, new carb filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap and rotor). I also put new webbing on the Recaro seats. It handles exceptionally well, and drives great. I drive it all around the Bay Area. The car is getting tired however, and could really use a restoration to soldier on. Most importantly of all, the car has extensive documentation from new to now. I have the original dealer order sheet (window sticker), sales invoice, original manuals with dealer service stamps and just about every single receipt for the car since new until now - massive stack. I have log books from 1970 to 1989 (first owner), detailing just about every gas fill up, oil change, and service done to the car. Dealer service invoices, independent garage invoices, part order receipts - this is a serious amount of documentation, above and beyond almost any 2002 I have come across. I am the fourth owner of the car, and a classic BMW enthusiast. The car did have CA blue plates on it, but they were lost when a previous owner put on personalized plates. The car has a clean title and is currently registered. I believe the color to be Verona (Red) as you can see on hood and trunk lid. Paint is faded so I thought it was Inka Orange for a while. I purchased the car a few months ago and had transported from Washington State to California. I always loved these cars and I felt is was a great deal; especially with the 5-speed. I am selling because my ever patient wife was already not very happy with me because I am up to 6 cars; 2 that are still in restoration stages (1973 Opel GT and 1965 VW Bug). Let's just say this cars arrival didn't go over very well. I paid $2700 for the car and $650 to transport so I am losing money at this price but I think it is very fair and I really want to have the car in someones garage soon! We just got finished with the car ,it's been in our family for 5 years , We have just fitted new ball joints , new KYB Strut inserts , & a complete Ireland Engineering front suspension bushing kit, she drives nice now!. The engine has unknown mileage ,runs good with a 32/36 Weber Carb, an Ireland Engineering stepped header & a nice muffler system with flex pipe connection.Transmission is a 5 speed which was an easy swap as this was an Automatic car with the larger trans tunnel. The body is completely rust free& has had a proper color change to Verona red, doors ,trunk hood & fenders removed. The car was hit by a motorcycle ( luckily no injuries) but that meant we had to fit a new nose panel ( BMW NOS Tii panel) new pass side fender & a perfect hood. When we stripped the car the condition of the body was outstanding, zero rust. some small holes in the floor from a bad windshield seal were cut out & replaced prior to our redo.We have had a new headliner, rear seat covered & re stuffed along with a one piece carpet kit. Front seats are from a BMW & are really nice I'm 6' 1" & I had them in my car for 4 years , the leather is showing some wear now, The Grant GT wood rim steering wheel is in great shape too.The console has Bosch gauges & a BMW clock fitted below the new stereo head... All new tires are on the BMW 14" wheels. The front spoiler & fiberglass rear bumper are both from Ireland Engineering. Door seals & front & rear windscreen seals were also fitted. In the trunk can be seen how rust free she is , the trunk boards are from Esty. All in all this is a great daily driver that turns heads & gets thumbs up wherever she goes, A true rust free California Car ready for a new home.

I purchased the car from it's first owner planning to make it my LOVEMOBIL. I am moving with my family now and cannot finish the job.The car had been standing since 1994 in a CT garage. The owner until then took meticulously care of his beloved BMW. The receipts for all technical work and oil change are still there. Car is complete except for some side trim. Does not currently run. Original white with blue interior. 1990cc I-4. 4spd manual transmission. Front disc brakes. Parts of the floors and trunk pan will have to be replaced. There is also rust in the drainage areas of the front cowl, front radiator/hood support, rear wheel houses, and around the sunroof (see the pics). There is also a shallow dent behind the drivers door in the rear quarter that will have to be popped out (see the pics). Another one on the trunk lid (see the pics). The car has been sitting forever. I would plan on pulling the motor and giving it a once over before attempting to start it. I have included some pics of restored cars to show what the car could be when restored.
