Runs great but needs love. This car has been in the family since 1970. There was an amatuer restoration attempted by my father in law 30 years ago. It needs paint, interior, top and upholstery work but we think it is priced accordingly. We had the engine and transmission rebuilt in 1999 and have only put less than that 10K on it since then. Crager wheels, good rubber and a super strong motor make it really fun to drive.

Up for sale in our Houston showroom is one gorgeously restored 1965 Pontiac GTO. The GTO is one particular model that any classic car collector would love to have in their collection. Pontiac first started producing the GTO in 1964 until 1974 then brought it back from 2004 until 2006. The GTO was the brainchild of Pontiac engineer Russell Gee, an engine specialist; Bill Collins, a chassis engineer; and Pontiac chief engineer John DeLorean. In early 1963, General Motors\' management issued an edict banning divisions from involvement in auto racing. This followed the 1957 voluntary ban on automobile racing that was instituted by the Automobile Manufacturers Association. By the early 1960s, Pontiac\'s advertising and marketing approach was heavily based on performance, and racing was an important component of that strategy. With GM\'s ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac\'s young, visionary management turned its attention to emphasizing street performance. In 1965, the GTO received a major face-lift with adding three inches to the length of the car but retaining the same wheelbase the headlights were now vertically stacked with an %26acirc;??egg-crate%26acirc;? grille being added. This GTO is equipped with a 389 C.I.D V8 that is very well mannered and fun especially with the four speed manual transmission. This is one Pontiac that will pull prizes and trophies from any car show you take it to.
