I'M OFFERING A FREE DELIVERY UP TO 500 MILES FROM COLUMBUS, OH. IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE OF THAT RADIUS MY RATE WILL BE VERY FAIR! Up for sale is a beautiful 1974 Super Beetle Karmann Ghia convertible. What makes this Beetle so unique is its history. This wasn't just another Beetle that was patched together during its restoration because of a leaky battery or rusted panels. This Bug came from California where the floors are original and rot free. The title even shows that the previous state of ownership was California. So to break it down, someone decided to restore a completely solid VW Beetle rather than patching one together. These cars are becoming harder to find and more valuable especially one in this condition and convertible. I encourage everyone to read through the entire ad even though its lengthy. I want you as the buyer to know exactly what you are getting. There won't be anything hidden so i'm here to reveal the flaws and the lengthy list of wonderful things this bug has to offer. I've included 24 pictures to help tell the story, due to eBay restricting me from adding more than 24 pictures I've included a link to a photobucket which has an additional 32 pictures of the car. Anyways, more about this one of a kind bug. Lets start with the basics... Original floors and panels (no fiberglass panels that don't fit right), original German made seat belts, crack free dash, all lights works, all gauges work, fan blows as it should, new speakers, stereo works, transmission shifts smooth, clutch works properly, doesn't leak any fluid, seat sliders, brand new tires, original nice rims, rip and tear free seats, very nice carpet and floor mats, original steering wheel, new carpet in the trunk, all the seals are good around the windshield frame and windows, spare tire, all wiring is clean and ran the proper way rather than done by an amateur, solid frame rails, and so much more which can be seen from the pictures. Little more about the history of this restoration. I have documented pictures of the restoration which was done back in 1999/2000. Yes, that was 15 years ago but when it is done right and properly stored it looks like what it does in the pictures. The pictures show a detailed process of the restoration. Clearly no expenses were spared during the process. The mileage on the odometer shows 20,663 which is almost impossible to tell if it is actual or not. However, you can tell from looking at the VW that its very likely that its original miles. The top is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. This is a original replacement top not a cheap $125 top. This has the insulation in between that is clean and intact and has a headliner. Most replacement tops are just the top alone. This is just an example of how they didn't do a cheap a job with the restoration. The engine is a 1600 cc that runs and drives great with a really nice exhaust system. Exhaust system was replaced last year and is honestly the best sounding beetle i've ever heard. Has VW exhaust manifolds which is shown in the pictures. The trunk and hood was lined with a very nice rhino liner type of material. It meshes very well with the paint and looks really professional. . Again i'm here to describe this vehicle the best I can. 1978 Super Beetle Bug Convertible Project Car with a good motor and transmission! Unknown mileage. This Beetle has sat for a while, but I threw a new battery in it and it starts right up. It does leak a lot of oil when running and will probably need all new gaskets. It runs and will drive, but needs restoration before it's ready to get back on the road without being trailered. Has dents, dings, cracks, and rust that will need repair. Needs windshield wipers, radio and speakers. Convertible top is in pretty good shape. Has good tires too. Up for auction is my 1972 VW Beetle Convertible, Rust free car that was restored a few years ago. Excellent rust free all metal body & floor pan. All metal and retains all it's original sheet metal parts from what I can tell. Doesn't appear to have had any patch work done. Repainted it's original Orange color It Really stands out at shows. Gets thumbs up everywhere it goes. Original 1600 CC 4 cylinder engine has lots of chrome add on's. Runs excellent. Retains Volkswagen's patented 3 Speed Semi Automatic transmission with Clutch less design allows anyone to drive this Bug just like a stick shift without the hassle of learning how to drive a clutch system. Newer tires and brakes. Just installed new fuel pump and rubber lines. Runs excellent. Starts with a flip of the key. Black convertible top is manual folding and in like new condition. No rips or tears. Glass back window is original and in excellent condition. All glass is original and in excellent condition. All trim is excellent also. Taillight lens are like new. Has 2 rear seat belts so kids can also go for rides. Original Front lap/shoulder belts function properly. Yep they retract fully in and out. All chrome is in great condition and shines. Wheel center caps are original VW chrome and are in great condition too. Heater doesn't work but as everyone knows they weren't worth a darn when new. Never driven in the winter anyways.
