2001 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab SR5 TRD 4X4 I purchased this truck new in March of 2001, it has been a project truck and off road toy but I have decided that its time to move on to a new adventure. The modifications to the truck have been well documented on my website, parksoffroad, in the Tacoma section and also in 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine. The truck has been on the cover or the magazine a few times, see pictures below. This is a go truck, not a show truck. This truck has been on the most of the trails in Moab and through the Rubicon Trail in California multiple times. I built the truck to the point that its at today and its been a lot of fun getting to this point, this truck will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go and do so in comfort. The Tacoma double cabs were produced from 2001 to 2004 before they went to the larger body style in 2005. These Tacomas are narrower so its easier to negotiate off road trails. They 01-04 double cabs only came with automatic transmissions, no manual transmission was offered. This truck has power windows, door locks and mirrors. The A/C blows cold. The truck has an amazingly low 58364 miles as of the time of this listing. Modification List: All-Pro Off Road 1 inch Uniball upper control arms Tuff Country 5 inch suspension lift. Below are some pictures of the truck.. The truck has been on the magazine cover a number of times, here are two issues where you can see the full truck: Here are some shots of the bed area. I have some random spare parts and extras including two brand new in the box spare wheels in case you dent any of the steel wheels off road. These wheels were discontinued so this means that in the future if you dent one you dont have to buy a new set of 4. The full size matching spare is literally brand new and never used and also is on a matching wheel, so in reality you have 3 backup wheels. Also included is a new spare CV shaft. The tailgate was removed when the truck was a few weeks old and replaced with the ARE camper shell with walk in door. I have the original tail gate which is also included should you wish to remove the camper shell. Here are a few shots of the engine. Note the under hood ARB onboard air and the Premier Power Welder. I have left the engine and transmission stock, there has never been a need to modify them as everything works as it should and I wanted to keep it that way! Interior shots.... The truck has had aftermarket floor mats (huskyliners) from early on, so the carpet under the floor mats is in excellent shape. I also have the original floor mats which are included. The truck is being sold as is and will not come with any warranty. I will provide a smog certificate for the buyer. To the best of my knowledge everything is working the way it should and the truck is ready to hit the trail. For the last few years it has only been on a few short runs a year, I would recommend changing the fluids before you start off purely for age. While I would not have any issues jumping in the truck now and heading out for Moab, you should know that as this truck has been modified it does not handle like a stock truck will. While I feel it drives just fine on the road, certain things have been modified such as the removal of the sway bars, so it will lean much more during turns so you have to take this into account before you go whipping around any corners on the road so you dont roll it over. You may wish to reinstall things like the sway bars for road use, thats up to you but you need to be aware of it. I have removed most of the stickers, you can keep or remove the rest as you see fit. I would recommend that the truck be waxed for the long term protection of the paint after the stickers were removed. The tires still have usable tread but are getting near the end of their life and have the normal cuts and nicks you would expect from tires used off road. Please feel free to ask any and all questions before you bid here on ebay. I am happy to show the truck to serious buyers. You can email with any questions to [email protected].
