A rare find in this condition!! This truck has been cared for and professionally modified by its 2nd owner of 20 years. The body and chassis are mostly original from 1980. The gear ratio in the axles was dropped to a 4.88. Lockers front and rear, ARB and detroit respectively. The original 2.0L motor was removed, along with the 4 speed manual transmission. A 5.3L Vortec motor was fitted along with a 4L60E automatic transmission. The original transfer case is in use via an "advanced adapters" product. This work was done between 2000 and 2003. The motor & transmission used was removed from a 2000 Chevy Silverado that had 17,000 miles on it. The Toyota currently stands with 138,000 miles on it while the motor & transmission now as about 20,000 total. At the time the mechanical work was done, the body and paint was done as well. The cab and bed were treated with the "Line-X" protective coating and the cab was left with holes to clean & drain if necessary. A two person bench seat was installed in the bed with seatbelts, and a roll cage was put in up front. My kids love riding in the back, off road. The original hood was modified with a fiber glass riser to allow closure with the larger motor installed. The truck was also lifted about 7" for other clearance issues. This vehicle was done very nicely by people who cared about it and all receipts are available. I'm hoping to see it go to a good home! Rare Toyota Custom Cab truck professionally altered by Custom Fab Mfg. in 1987. This is a California truck with no structural rust issues. The fiberglass rear cab has the original upholstery, (headliner) seat and roll cage. I have a Salvage title in hand, tags are current. The truck had been hit lightly in the rear and repaired at a shop where I purchased it generating the salvage title. I have included photos of the repair. It is a long bed with a spacious fiberglass topper. I bought this truck as a restoration project and installed new thick mass backing carpet from Stock Interiors.com to reduce heat and noise. The AC was missing so I installed a used AC pump and bracket, new condenser, needs to be charged. I also swapped out the front seats. Eventually my plan was to repaint it, replace the cracked dash, cracked windshield, reupholster the rear seat, and replace the valve cover gasket, temp control gauge cluster, gas door lock, add CD player.The 22r carbureted engine passed smog in California. It runs strong but you may want to rebuild it since it has 197,400 miles. Compression is good but it smokes a little. Body is in pretty good shape for a 28 year old vehicle. Tailgate is from a newer truck, I have the original dented one.Tires have good tread, missing the spare tire.4 speed manual transmission. It has new air filter, plug wires, plugs, distributor, rotor, and fresh oil and filter. I'm asking $3600 OBO. I really don't want to part with it but circumstances have changed, influencing sale.
