I'm moving overseas and, unfortunately, I have to sell my 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback, 2.5 liter 5 speed. It's in very good shape inside and out, runs very smooth and has served me well! Positives: - Only 20,000 miles on rebuilt engine. (Engine rebuilt March 2019 at 165,426 miles. 185,506 current miles on odometer.) - New front brakes, catalytic converter's, fuel pump, plugs and wires, alternator, timing belt, radiator, water pump and hoses, rack and pinion, etc. - Replaced clutch and gear shifter linkage. - Good tires and shocks. - All gauges and devices (a/c, heater, front seat heaters, DVD player, interior and exterior lights, wipers, automatic windows and side mirrors, cruise control, etc.) in good working order. - Rear tinted windows. - Have all receipts. Problems/Flaws: - There's a very tiny, slight oil leak, possibly from warping of valve cover (all gaskets and seals were replaced.) - Some scuffs, oxidized patches and peeling clear coat on original paint. (Actually, I like it - gives the car character.) - Tiny ding near right rear taillight. - Previous owner was from cold, wet winter climate of Minnesota and small rush patches formed in a few spots where roof rack and antenna attach to roof (I applied rust deactivator, bondo and black primer to prevent further rusting). - One of the headrests to backseat, scroll cover to cargo area and hand crank to jack are missing. - There are few other less-significant, minor flaws.

I have done my best to accurately describe the car, but it is a used car and things will need to be fixed as it incurs use, same as any car. A Clear CT title and Bill of sale provided. Runs and drives; great car in snow! Very good tires--rear ones only have about 3000 miles on them. But has issues: 1) Driver side front CV axle boot is torn, so needs replacing.2) Cam Seals (bad oil leak....this is all the work of changing the timing belt plus a bit more. This is the type of leak that occurs while running but not while stopped, but oil that leaks while running still drips down onto the driveway.)3) Front calipers don't slide on the pins properly (replacing brackets would be very helpful, I think)4) Gas filler pipe rusted enough to drip some while filling tank, and causes Check Engine light to be on. Code P0440. 5) Exhaust (muffler has holes and everything behind it is gone)6) key doesn't work in driver door lock or the rear hatch. This may be an easy fix, but I rarely lock it any more so I haven't bothered with it.7) hood is damaged and is a pain to open sometimes8) bad rust at bottom of driver door9) rust behind rear driver side door10) rear door glass wiper doesn't work11) grill is totally broken off, but will stay there with the hood down12) cup holders don't move in and out very well.13) Sometimes I have to try multiple times to get the rear hatch to unlock with the power lock. 14) Interior trim on hatch is loose. Please ask questions BEFORE bidding! Being an honest seller doesn't mean I didn't forget something. This car has lots of issues, so I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you have the ability to fix a lot of it yourself. It would become very expensive to pay a shop to do all this.

Nice 97 Subaru Legacy L Wagon. Only 113K miles. 2 owners, and no accident vehicle. Exterior has a few scratches, and a fist sized dent in the front passenger fender area. Interior is clean and odor free, the visors are both ripped in a few places. AC works, heat works, all power options work. Stereo works. Vehicle has newer tires - all matching on all 4, with spare. I am selling my favorite car I've ever owned. My parents had the same car and I fell in love with theirs and found this one. Of the seven Subaru cars we have owned this model has by far been our favorite. I have enjoyed every mile I've driven this car. The wagon is real 'sleeper' with the power the turbo adds to it. It has a 10,000 miles on a new engine installed by AWD Tuning of Lewisville, Texas, one of the premier Subaru tuners in Texas. At the same time the motor was done I had new struts and top hats installed all the way around. It has a new radiator. Tires have 75% tread left and are wearing evenly. Three of the center caps were lost by the tire shop and they couldn't find them. As to the 'blemishes'. The front bumper has a hole in it. I crept up in line at the school to pick up my son and eased right into the stinger sticking out of a trailer hitch on a 2 ton pickup. The damage is just in the outer plastic. A new bumper cover can be purchased for around $100. If purchased for the Buy It Now price, I would be willing to pay for a new unpainted bumper cover and include it with the car. The center console cover has some cover damage on it, it doesn't affect the lid operation. It can be bought on ebay for approximately $50. The drivers seat has one wear spot which I've photographed. I have All Weather floor mats and also have the original carpeted floor mats which are in excellent condition. I have the oil changed every 3000 miles with Mobile 1. The paint is good with the exception of little rock chips on the hood. The photographs were taken after several days of rain and it doesn't look as clean and shiny as it really is. I would still be driving this car another ten years but I am relocating to another state and need to start with a new car as I'm a single mom and my family won't be close. Buyer will be responsible for any transport of the car or it can be picked up here. A $500 deposit through Paypal is required immediately.
