This is a real deal race car - not a street car converted to a race car. Back in 98 3 cars were pulled from GM's assembly line early (before any seam sealer/interior so on) were installed. Then they were sent to builder in Detroit. The VIN number still says its in GM's inventory since it was never sold thru a dealership.. I am listing my 1967 GTO for sale, It needs some cosmetic restoration to have a show car. It is a factory 4 speed with a 400 cu in engine. The car runs beautifully!!!!Whats been done- new trunk pan installed, new gas tank and straps, underneath detailed. Brakes completely rebuilt from the Master Cylinder to the shoes with new stainless lines and rubber hoses. Quarter panels on both sides behind the wheelwell have had a patch put in and finished on the outside. I kept the pieces cut out to show anyone how small they were. Floorpans are excellent. Please note I have added pictures where it needs rust repair, corner of both doors, trunk area behind the rear seat. Minimal but needed to be disclosed.New Master Cylinder, Alternator, Fuel pump, Power Steering. FACTORY A/C! And all there!!! This car has never been restored and never molested, I have traced it back to it's original owner. Redline tires and wheels refinished.What it needs- paint job, detail the motor, carpet and headliner. Repair the drivers seat. From 10 feet it looks beautiful, but it has chips, scratches and dings. The car has only had one repaint from what I can tell and probably in the 80's.I have driven this car to Pigeon Forge, Charlotte and it has never failed me, it REALLY does run and drive like new. Transmission shifts like new also, it's a pleasure to drive, not like most old cars.I also have the original owners manual, window sticker and PHS report. This is a REAL GTO, 242 vin. I am selling an absolutely GORGEOUS 1977 Pontiac Bonneville Brougham/Landau 2 door Sport Coupe! This is an amazing un-restored ORIGINAL SURVIVOR with 34,000 miles that has always been pampered, garaged, and adult owned! In my opinion, this 40 year old classic Pontiac looks better than most 4 or 5 year old used cars I have seen! This car was kept and cared for by the original family until a little over 2 years ago. Since then, it has been in collector/hobbyist hands, also well taken care of and kept under cover. This top-of-the-line beauty is fully equipped with: Pontiac 400/4bbl V8 (higher output than base engine, this was the largest and best engine offered that year) Automatic Transmission Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes All typical power equipment (windows, locks, seat, trunk release, tilt steering etc). These items are in good working order. Landau Padded Vinyl Top Brougham Package consisting of luxury velour interior and additional exterior trim Handling Package Optional Rear Fender Skirts Air Conditioning (nice and cold, converted to 134A Freon) Rally II Wheels Full Instrumentation (gauges, not "idiot lights") The originality of this Pontiac is incredible! The body is nice and straight with original panels. No rust issues. The blue exterior paint is 90% to 95% original and still holds a great luster and shine. Engine bay is un-restored and very presentable. Trunk compartment is immaculate with original mat. Original spare tire and 5th rally wheel appear to have never been used! Interior is stunning! It looks very close to what you would have seen 40 years ago! Seats, door panels, dash etc are not torn, faded, cracked, etc. Trim is nice and clean, not worn or dried out. The padded Landau top is bright and supple, not cracked, faded, or worn. Car is nice and clean underneath as well. Clearly this car was cared for and cherished throughout its life! Of course as with any used car, there are minor flaws such as door dings, small scratches, etc. However, this makes a better appearance than many late model used cars I have seen. A couple of upgrades have been made: 1. Original AM/FM radio was replaced by a more up-to-date AM/FM/CD Stereo. This unit utilizes the original dash opening for the radio, as well as the original speakers. I don't see any evidence of anything having been cut or butchered for this replacement. If you didn't know this type of stereo wasn't offered back in 1977, you would think it came this way from the factory. 2. A key less entry system was added with remote key fob. This operates the door locks and the power trunk release. It is all integrated to the original power locks and trunk. Again, this was all professionally done. You can either use this or the original keys and power switches to lock and unlock. Again, if you didn't know better, you would think the car came this way. Other than the remote fob in your hand, there is no evidence of the upgrade. Mechanically, this car is smooth and strong, as you would expect. The Pontiac 400 engine has lots of power and torque. Transmission shifts smoothly and crisply. Driving this car is like sitting in your living room, even at 75MPH! Steering and handling are great! Full sized GM cars from this era were well known for their ride and comfort. This example is no exception! I drove it on a 210 mile trip in December with no issues. It did not smoke, use oil etc, and surprisingly I averaged a bit over 18MPG on regular unleaded gas! I would not be afraid to drive anywhere I needed to go! Maintenance items that have been replaced include: muffler, tail pipe, battery, alternator, radiator, hoses, brakes, master cylinder, tune up, and carburetor rebuilt. Tires are Michelin Radials with approximately 50% tread. Additionally, A/C system has been flushed and converted to 134A Freon. It is nice and cold. This is a great classic that won't break the bank! You can start to enjoy it right away and take the whole family in comfort to shows and cruise-ins. Would be a great choice for old car tours as well. Original Survivor cars that have been well kept are the up and coming thing in the collector car hobby. Remember, anyone can throw gobs of money at a derelict and restore it, but THEY ARE ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE! If someone GAVE you a project car, you could not even begin to restore it for what you can buy this nice original for! I have good title. Don't miss this one! After all, with less than 11,700 of these built, over 45 years ago, it's getting harder and harder to find V8 examples with bodies that look this good. Let's start with the amazing red paintwork. Sure, Pontiac gave you a like color from the factory, but its luster is no match for modern paint practices. With a shine this bold, it's a good thing this convertible has exceptional panel fit and uniform gaps. After all, imperfections can't hide from high-gloss. The design of these first-gen cars really lived up to the Firebird name, with a beak-like nose and slotted trim that looks like a bird in flight. This iconic appearance would never be complete without all this trim present like it is on this one. As an added brightwork bonus, chrome Cragar wheels were added just like you would have done if you were looking to grab attention in '69. You paid a little bit more for a Pontiac back in the day, and the difference can be seen inside where there's a delightfully upscale black interior. It has a great matching pattern on the vinyl high-back bucket seats that remains complete and fantastic today. This is a comfortable center console car, that has its fashionable black broken up by bright trim pieces, wood on the shifter, and three-spoke steering wheel. Like a good sports car, the driver's focus is on the deep dual-pod gauges, and right next to that is the switch for the power convertible top. There's even an auxiliary gauge to keep you updated on what's going on under the hood. This is the kind of engine bay you love to see in a driver's car. It has a few pieces for show, such as the bright air cleaner and valve covers. But, the flash does not distract from the honest appearance of this 350 cubic-inch V8. Few people even knew that Pontiac made a handful of GTOs in 1973, and most of them had the smaller 400 ci motor. This is one of the few 544 that were snuck out the door with big 455 V8, reserved for the Trans Am. It one only gets better as this numbers-matching motor has been mated to a four-speed manual something the factory never had the guts to do! This is one of the rarest GTOs around, but making this one even rarer is the correct triple-black color combination. Someone wrote a giant check to get this car into such spectacular condition, and with black paint, there's no place for shoddy workmanship to hide. The high gloss darkness looks incredible, clinging to the all-new A-body sheetmetal with hardly a ripple or wave to be seen. The black vinyl roof might show the luxury end of this Pontiac, but the front NACA ducts leave you with no question about its performance car nature. This hood artfully ends in the split grille up front, with a Pontiac chevron in the center, and simple GTO badging - just the way they've been doing it since the first one hit the streets in '64. There's not much chrome on this midnight prowler of a Goat, but the bumpers and trim remains in outstanding condition, and their shine only helps to emphasize the black paint. This mean and unique performance attitude is capped off with an iconic set of Cragar wheels. Bucket seats in a full-sized A-body would become an endangered species in the years to come, but in this GTO they're part of the factory package. Today they still look a fresh as if this was 1973, and the coupe was sitting in the Pontiac showroom. The center console looks just as fresh, and it utilizes the manual transmission opening that was designed for the smaller 400 ci cars. The steering wheel has a simple PMD horn button that always worked well with the Pontiac Motor Division's understated attitude. Beyond that is a full set of gauges, including Pontiac's cool tach and clock combo readout. But while this is a driver's coupe, all the riders will be happy that this one has been upgraded to an air conditioner running modern R-134a. The most important component of this factory-correct Pontiac is what fills the engine bay. The 455 cubic-inch V8 was the largest motor Pontiac was offering at the time. This is the original, numbers-matching engine, giving this GTO an impressive pedigree. Its preserved appearance will be a hit at car shows (just wait and see how many people want to take a picture of your "Keep your GM car all GM" sticker on the air cleaner.) But there are some upgrades to this one. You can see that this has a new H-pipe exhaust for a superior rumble, and of course, we didn't forget about the gearbox. This is a period-correct Muncie M20 four-speed that was designed to easily handle the power of the big V8. It's a wonder why Pontiac didn't offer this combination to the public. Maybe they thought premium buyers didn't want to shift there own gears, so thank goodness for an enthusiast with the guts and wallet to make this upgrade happen. You'll enjoy tearing up the streets in this GTO since the stick shift linked to Pontiac's Safe-T-Track limited slip rear end. Plus, there's good all-around grip with front disc brakes and BF Goodrich tires. This is a one year only GTO, which makes this Goat more of a unicorn. It even comes with plenty of documentation to back it up, including the factory buildsheet and reproduction window sticker. So if you're not quick enough to snatch up this rare Pontiac you'll have as much proof it exists as, well, a unicorn.
