Gorgeous. Astral Silver/Blue exterior; Blue Interior. Clean. Very updated. If you know how these cars should drive, and feel, you will love this example of the 450 SEL. There are just over 200,000 miles on this vehicle. I do not use the sunroof on any or my three vintage Mercedes. This one does operate. But it stuck on me once so I quit using it. Its shut and does not leak. Not worth tempting fate. I bought this car from the second owner in Santa Rosa, California, in March 2013. I spent a lot of money updating it in many ways (appx $7k). It is mechanically sound. I even replaced the rubber door seals. You can drive it across the country and back carefree. I will share records and details with a serious buyer. The car was inspected extensively, and updated as mentioned, by the best independent Mercedes mechanics in Marin County; all they do is work on Mercedes. They know this car well. You can talk to them freely if you like. Exterior: Paint is a very nice repaint. There is a weird scratch on the right front from a carport cover being lifted up by the wind. It's fixable but never bothered me. No oxidation to speak of; if any, I don't know where. It shines and cleans up just beautifully. Interior: Wood (lovely); Headliner (great); Front Seats (new pads, reinforced springs, feels like new, some fading on leather, no rips, a little dye wouldn't hurt); Back Seat: (squishy rear seat springs in these models is very common, and these do squish; the back is great; leather is excellent); Hat Tray (totally new carpet; looks gorgeous, nice deep blue); Dash Cover (no cracks; I replaced it with an aftermarket piece - brand new). Climate Control: Works perfectly. Heat and Air Conditioning excellent, which is key because the servo for this car costs $500 to replace if broken. Clock: it works!! And most of this vintage do not work. It's $900 to replace it. So the clock working on this car is very cool. Windows: One of the back windows is stuck; needs a new regulator. I will help you find one if you care. This is a typical issue with these cars. Tires: I had surgery recently that required me to let this car sit for a few months. So, I put some low end tires on it and removed the Michelin Defenders. You really should have Michelins or Continentals on this car. Wheels: It's illegal to rechrome them in most places because of pollution laws. Powder coating would be nice on these wheels, it's legal, but for the same price you can buy really nice repros. These wheels are original, excellent condition, just not so pretty. Radio: I have a functioning Becker and an amp for this car that I will sell separately if wanted. They are from a different but identical model (same year). The amp blew on this one, so I removed the broken amp and the Becker, put in a modern mp3/CD/radio/blue tooth, and new speakers. But if you want an operable Becker and functional amp, you can buy them. I will take them out of my identical model and ship them to you. $300 for the Becker and amp, extra and you pay the shipping. The Buy-it-Now price of $5900 does not include the radio and amp. Shipping: You pay shipping. The car is in Austin, Tx. Shipping this car open could cost $1,000. Shipping it closed could cost $1,200. It can take 1 day to 1 month to get a truck to ship a car. That is up to you. Austin is an easy truck route.
